Spencer's is a open concept, modern restaurant with floor to ceiling windows and a patio overlooking Lake Ontario. This is a fine dining experience, which is provided by the same owners as The Old Mill. The food is mouth watering and the portions are good. The service is professional and the patrons ar emade to feel special. They provide live music on Friday evenings which is very nice. On sunday's there's a champagne brunch which includes your drinks and brunch, shich is more like breakfast, lunch and dinner put together. This is a good special occasion place for celebrating with loved ones.
Had a few people for a birthday party. Excellent service. Great presentation. Helpful staff. Food was great. G Okimi
I hate to downgrade my original rave review but my latest visit for Christmas brunch was noticeably different from previous visits. The service was definitely not as attentive as usual. They kept running out of utensils. There were young guys replenishing the bread plates but using their bare hands on the food. The dessert table was scaled down. The chocolate fountain is still there but I saw... more
Went to spencer's the other day for a friends birthday, party of 8 dinner found this place very average besides a really nice decor.
I ordered a striploin steak which was cooked how i wanted it "medium" but was probably just warmer than room temperature. By that point i was already hungry anyway, I didn't want to wait 45 minutes for another one which was the wait time to get out food anyway. I...

I was skeptical. Places with a privileged location or view tend to trade on that. Not the food. I'm thinking, oh, the CN Tower restaurant. Or anything over looking Niagara Falls. Spencer's sits on some primo land along Burlington's water front. But I'm pleased to say service, food, and ambiance are worth it. Nice to see some local craft beers on tap too. And the burger is both heavenly and... more
Great location with a great view of the waterfront. If you sit by the window, the view of the water is really pretty. I loved this place and the food but some food that is supposed to be hot was Luke warm at best. It was a little disappointing but a wonderful experience nonetheless.
Omelettes are not on the menu but you can request it from the chef and he'll make it for you on the spot!

Ive always had a fantastic meal here. Sunday brunch is my favourite! Great food, great service!
Went to Spencer's on Saturday for lunch; booked reservations, it was busy and the view of the lake was calm. There was a huge lack of service, we had to go to the bar tender to get our drinks and we finally got a server to come to our table after 2 drinks. We ordered the spinach artichoke appetizer and it came with dry pumpernickel bread. By the time the server checked on us, the appetizer was... more
Can't go wrong here. Wonderful food. Great wine selection. Efficient service. Fabulous view.
We've eaten at Spencer's probably a dozen times, and have never been disappointed. The food is always incredible and well worth the price for the experience. The view and ambiance is unmatched.
My only hesitation is that the restaurant seems to be going through changes, from varying tap selections to a menu that is moving from endlessly varying continent/European to instead being very seafood...

without a doubt you will have my heart if you serve me unlimited crab legs, mussels, shrimp, OYSTERS ANDDDD smoked salmon. the only thing missing from the buffet brunch here IS lobster but im not that greedy :) plus, the good service, view, experience, all you can drink mimosas, fruit smoothies, and champagne makes up for it. colette toronto charges a bit more than spencers for their buffet... more
Spencer's is a great dining option with an amazing view if you're ever by Lakeshore in Burlington! Situated right by the lake, the view is breathtaking - Make sure to request patio seating when you make the reservation!

Great location with a view outside on the terrace. Inside was warm and stuffy as we're were seated in a corner. Staff is very friendly. Portions of fish are very small. Dip was good. Large bread loaf was nice. I find it's a medium end restaurant that's trying to be a high end. Food was good. My husbands meat came cold with cold fries. They were kind to change and not charge for a hot steak but... more
I always wanted to come here for the view but I was a bit disappointed to be honest. Came here on a Sunday night for anniversary, it was a long drive from where we live and this restaurant was the only reason.

Ok, we eat out a LOT and mostly the better spots in Burlington. We had never tried Spencer's before so my wife and I plus another couple went to try it. At first I was telling my friends that I liked the atmosphere and they said "That won't keep you coming back for more..." They hit it on the head. The table for four was so small you couldn't have a drink and a menu on the table at the same... more
The food is tasty, and the service is good. It's a nice atmosphere, especially if you get a seat on the patio, and it's not too fancy. Perfect for if you're looking for a business-casual atmosphere.
As long as money isn't an issue, it is by far the best restaurant in Burlington. There's something for everyone on the menu and I have yet to try something I didn't like.
Oh... the view doesn't hurt either :-D
Terrific dinner in a lovely setting!
Our first time here, and I know we'll be back. Easy to make reservations in OpenTable, and reserved parking in a special lot, so our arrival was super easy.
Gorgeous view. There was a wedding reception here and still plenty of room for dining patrons, no one is inconvenienced.
The food is lovely and fresh. Simple menu of mostly meats and seafoods, and...

Excellent service and professional staff. Saturday night atmosphere was lively with dance music playing in the background but not too loud to have a small group conversation. The regular menu was a bit limited but all dishes we... more
Just spent an amazing evening enjoying a fabulous dinner. Jonathan was our waiter. Thank you Jonathan for your knowledge and kindness.
First and foremost, this restaurant is beautiful and the walk down the waterfront is charming. The pork belly was full of fat and sweet stickiness. Whatever it was, it was delicious! For my main, I picked the muscovy duck dish, which was good although not outstanding. Still, what distinguishes this restaurant are the nice views, atmosphere and the service. This is a great place for special... more
I'd give 3 stars for the food and 5 stars for the view and service; so 4 stars.
For an appetizer, we had Malt Glazed Pork Belly, which was flavourful and succulent, but more than half of the piece was fat so if you don't like eating fat, I'd avoid this dish.
I got BC Halibut and it was really good except for the mixture of treviso and green onions, which were hard to chew and too "healthy...

The food was alright, but the view and services were amazing. We sat near the oyster table, but the guys were opening so slow that I only had a few since each time you can only get 3 on a plate. I guess it was their tactic to slow people down from getting too much oyster :)
Overall, I would go there for the view but not for the food. I was supposed to give 3 stars but the service and the view...

I drove from Toronto to meet a friend for lunch and she picked Spencer's. The place is beautiful. It was a warm June day so we sat on the patio. I bet the glass windows make it very very loud at night to eat inside. The restaurant has nothing to absorb the sound. But it is gorgeous.

Excellent ambience, location and service! The menu has good variety but I'd say the food is average-good! The martinis were expensive and one doesn't even get a full glass (half a glass for an old fashioned) which does leave one wanting more.
Overall I'd say that the dining experience was great and that I will go back but won't dream about it for sure!
Beautiful location, right at the waterfront!!! The restaurant is gorgeous surrounded by top to bottom windows. Extremely high ceiling. I have had fair to very good here. I would rate this 3.75 stars. The view is great, the sound level atrocious, service has ranged from fair to decent, the decor lack luster, and though the architecture is pretty it creates bombastic sound amplification that makes a high end restaurant unpleasant. I always take a seat in the back so I can hear my dinner companions.

Overall a great experience! Drinks were well crafted and the steak was cooked to perfection. We were there late on a Friday night, they had a live performer, so it was quite loud. This place is beautiful! I live in Markham, if it wasn't for a friend's engagement celebration, I wouldn't have driven an hour to go to this place for brunch. Great location on the water. So popular reservations are a good idea. The food was really good so we didn't get to try a dessert. When our server found out we were there for an anniversary, he brought complimentary champagne with our starters. Parking was a bother with so much going on at the waterfront in the summer though.
This is my first time here with my group of friends. Spencer's At Waterfront is definitely a 5 star restaurant. The food is amazing and the service is excellent. There are so many different kind of food.
One of the waitress spill a drop of liquid on my wife jacket and the manager offer to dry clean it. Very professional service and well manner. Anyone haven't tried this place please do!!!
I've seen waterfront places like this one try to coast (pun intended) by on the view and serve mediocre food. Not so with Spencer's; the food was exemplary. The calamari comes with a great combination of chorizo and sweet potato mole - probably the best calamari I've had. The craft burger is transcendent - more of a sensuous experience than merely a burger. The fries, duck, and blackened cod... more

For our annual Christmas buffet brunch, we decided to head to Spencer's due to several favourable experience from friends. Great Sunday brunch (buffet) spot. Oysters, bacon, mini croissants, waffles, and apple cider were the highlights for me. The lamb shank and poached eggs get honorable mention. The king crab was too salty unfortunately. The service is great and the ambiance excellent. Live music and waterfront views!
Usually when I come here we sit inside, but on Monday I went for lunch and sat out on the patio - it was packed for a weekday lunch!
I had the steelhead trout with fennel and barley risotto and tarragon gastrique, which was fabulous. The fish was cooked perfectly and the risotto had delicious flavour (namely butter... the best flavour of them all). It was only $22, which was a great deal for...
