The place is filthy, with splashed food on the walls and dirty floors. The service is OK, but the servers hanging about behind the little counter smoking Marlboro reds isn't exactly a classy or hygienic touch. The food is typical Montreal/East Coast/Midwest Asian: little flavor or daring, with an emphasis on deep-fried foods.
This is where you get could price for big portions. The General Tao is the best I've ever tasted, but yes expect to wait to be seated and it is crowded, but that's the proof that they are liked... There is always a ton of people no matter what hour you go there.
Franchement mauvais.
Samll eating room...a lot of people.....ILLEGAL!!!!!!!!!It tastes like s@!t~~~YOU GUYS ARE NOT ASIANS...HOW TO CHOOSE GOOD ASIAN RESTAURANT!!!LET ME TELL YOU!!!FIND A PLACE THAT HAS A LOT ASIANS...Soupes Et Nouilles IS KIND OF S@!T!!!!!!
My relationship with Soupe et Nouilles goes back to my time in high school when I used to order General Tao chicken from them for lunch with a bunch of friends. The food is tasty, fatty, cheap and the portions are large, we didn't ask for anything more back then.
I ordered chicken with red curry sauce. Instead of using red curry paste, the cook used hot chili sauce and mixed it with coconut milk, hoping I wouldn't notice. It tasted vile and was obviously not what I ordered. I couldn't go back and return it since it was the end of the night and the place was closed. Otherwise, I would have. AVOID. This owner has gotten greedier and greedier over the... plus
Don't understand why people say bad things about a place that is really good
good and cheap general tao chicken and friend rice
Only thing worth eating there is the shrimp Tom yum soup (meal) is amazing!!!
The food tasted good and portions were big .
I've been going for the past 10 years, once a month, more or less. The only things I eat here are: General Tao chicken and the House Special fried rice. I think this two meals are among the best.
dinned there quite often when worked in Concordia, but now the food quality is really bad..wont go there anymore
For takeout, this was truly awful. I asked specifically if the Cantonese Chow Mein had small crispy noodles and was assured that it did. When we opened the box, it was full of very little meat and soggy noodles with no flavour in the sauce. The sesame beef and orange beef were basically the same. Instead of individually breaded nice pieces of beef, we got instead a huge clump of mostly breading... plus
They had my favorite soup which was the \chicken and sweet corn, and also giant portions.
Best salt and pepper fish I've had in a fast food Chinese place yet. My bf thinks it's the best Chinese fast food he's tasted in mtl.
On Ste-Catherine Street west and adjoining streets between St-Mathieu (near Concordia University ) going west to Chomedy Street (near the Korean grocery store) there is a provision of very good restaurants of Asian ethnicity at very affordable prices. The main clientele is young , worldwise, open minded; they eat outside a lot and they do not have a lot of money to spend.
