Forest Hills best kept secret. Eat where the stars visit when in Toronto. Sotto in the village offers an exquisite menu, a fabulous atmosphere and superb catering for special events or moments that are meant to be remembered.

The food was horrible - I first had the Chicken, with cheese and Proscuitto, that was cold -- then I had the trout of the day - that was fishy -- I was horribly disappointed. This is definitely not the Sotto Sotto I knew from years ago
Quality of service and food is a big miss at Sotto in the Village. Service wait staff were indifferent, with little interest in providing a superb dining experience, on NYE no less. Food was lacklustre in taste and presentation, and price point is high enough to have us expect so much more. Bread was stale, food over salted, mussels flavourless. Lobster served without proper utensils. No... more
Love it. Manager was extremely kind. Had the veal limone....nice sharp taste. We shared their antipasto....delicious.
- Even tho it's realllyyy expensive, its the BEST spaghetti with bolognese i've ever had. (shhh don't tell Nonno)
Have you ever paid 60 dollars and still needed to go to Mac Donalds because you were still hungry? well eat here and that's exactly what you will be doing. C@!p food, C@!p Service and inflated prices. I'm not a great cook but I could make a better pasta or toss up a more impressive salad in half the time. This restaurant has been the worst experience I have had. I hated the food and the waiters... more
We went to Sotto for a Mother's Day treat but instead were disappointed in the food and wait staff. We will not return nor recommend Sotto. The waiters were indifferent, monosyllabic and gave poor service. The food was mediocre and over priced. Steak and calamari were rubbery and pasta overcooked and bland.Live and learn - an expensive mistake.
we didn't enjoy eating in a closet - elbow to elbow with someone you didn't know for an hour - no way!!
"""Good place for Italian. Not too authetic, but really good for anywhere outside Italy. Try their Lasagne!"""
The service we experienced was terrible. We had a younger male waiter whose name I do not recall. Several errors were made, first he was placed the menus in front of the men before the women, took my menu before I placed my order. (Even Kelsey's knows to take a woman's order first, this place has no excuse). We were missing some cutlery when were seated and so we had to take some from another... more
Food is great like Sotto Sotto but customers are rude and complain too much. Staff should be given an award for putting up with locals who expect too much and treat them poorly. Its a problem in the neighbourhood so no wonder great restaurants dont open there. We love Sotto in the Village!!!
Overpriced and underwhelming. Not worth a visit unless you have been going there for 10 years
Summerlicious = Food was nothing special, we were expecting much better. Service was really bad, waiters were like zombies. Exhumed bodies would have had more personality than our two waiters. Never checked up on us, only came to our table to give us the bill even... more
Dined here on Friday April 1 2011. Had to practically wave our server down. He forgot to bring part of our order but did not neglect to bill us for it. The Food was good but, in all honestly, not good enough to make up for the terrible service. I would not return and certainly will not be recommending it to anyone.
A quiet evening, attentive but not pushy service, very good food, able to have a conversation. I know this can be a noisy and crowded restaurant, but not tonight. A very pleasant experience.
This isn't Pizza Hut so I expect somewhat better service. I visited the restaurant during lunch on a Sunday. I didn't get what I ordered -- I understand that menus change because ingredients run out, but tell me ahead of time; don't bring out my food with different ingredients and then expect me to quietly eat it without questioning. The server was also brusque and uncheerful. When the dishes... more
Beef Carpaccio... is oddly made with bresaola (instead of sliced fresh beef) hidden under a mountain of dry arugula... it needs to be generously lubricated with the olive oil supplied for bread dipping before it can even be swallowed. Unsuccessful.Asparagus Salad... good, except for the fact that there is too much vinegar in the asparagus poaching water, making it taste like the salad is made... more
"Knowledgeable" servers "happy to make suggestions" help diners navigate the "solid", "traditional" Italian menu at this "cosy" Bloor Yorkville "favourite" and its newer Forest Hill sibling; given the "servings" and "quality of food", they're "great values"; P.S. the "slightly better" original offers an opportunity to "ogle" "movie stars" (especially during the film festival).
The small Italian bistro in Forest Hill is cousin to legendary celeb hangout Sotto Sotto on Avenue Road. Menu items include lasagna, steaks, ribs, and rich desserts. Open for lunch, dinner and brunch on Sundays. Skilled service.
