The truth
The Hall is a great place. The negative posts are by losers that were not elected to run the place. Come on grow up with your false claims. Francesca and the committee are outstanding people. Ask anyone who rented the hall and there is nothing but positives to be heard. Anymore false posts will be dealth with in the courts.
Slovenian Canadian Cultural Centre
The Cultural Centre has served over 75 events, including weddings, concerts, fundraisers, luncheons, and meetings over the past few months.
It is interesting that this site features only negative comments from two anonymous brides.
The Association has received dozens of positive feedback from renters on their experience with our facility and staff, and we pride ourselves on customer service and support for special events.
We bent over backwards for the August, 2013 renter (honest-truth, lercid) who was given hours of personal attention, telephone calls, emails, discounted fees, and who received their damage deposit promptly (even though we had extra cleaning by our volunteer staff).
We did ask them that in the daylight that they not use the chandeliers as this is very costly.
If you have any doubts about our facility, don't rely on anonymous libel. We are available to serve you for your event and will ensure your experience is positive.
Frustrating! Un-reasonable! Wish we never rented here!
This place looks nice and its new but when you deal with the people who run this place it is not worth it. Franceska is out of control and the person we dealt with and she is the worst! You can email her and call her all you want, her reply is always "we have to check with the hall comity" next thing you know weeks go by with no answers. The answers dont come until the day of the rental when her and her arrogant husband watch you like a hawk and wont let you turn the damn lights on because it "wastes energy". There is no set rules its just whatever they feel like at the time. They also try to nickel and dime you every chance they get. DO NOT RENT THIS FACILITY, or while Franceska and her rude husband are around. I can go on forever on how bad this place is. As for the caterers for the hall, fantastic. Rena and Rosa + her staff were awesome. The food was honestly 5 star! they are great to work with, reasonable prices, and will make your rental experience great. They can teach Franceska and her husband a thing or two about customer service. I agree with Edmonton66 & lercid 100%
A complete nightmare
This hall is beautiful, however the incompetent people who run it absolutely ruin it. Franceska and her husband Alex have been a completely nightmare to deal with. As someone mentioned previously, I don't think this woman is mentally stable and I think her husband has something up his a**. They will tell you one thing and then go back on their word - expect this inconsistency throughout your whole rental period. They also cash a $1000 damage deposit (which must be included on one cheque with the full payment of the hall).. they will ALWAYSSSSSSS find a reason to keep either a part of it, if not the whole deposit.
This management at the hall right now is a COMPLETE nightmare. I have already advised multiple people who've wanted to rent the hall to not do business with the Association.
On another very unprofessional note, the management talks smack about the caterers (who are contracted under the hall); they will badmouth their professionalism, their food, their service, etc. A complete disgrace. DO NOT BOOK!!!!!!!!!
p.s. if Franceska and her husband were let go this hall could be a great experience. Ivan and the catering gang were amazing.
The best hall in north Edmonton!
We were fortunate enough to rent the facility in 2012 and it was a wonderful venue for our cultural community. The building is beautiful and we were treated to a brand new facility, beautiful dance floor and excellent customer service. All in all it is a beautiful building, patio and grounds and we hope to rent it again in 2013 for our community event! Thanks again!
Extremely bad place to rent at!
This woman, Franceska who rented us the hall is crazy! I rented the hall for a wedding and she kept the damage deposit because we didn't have the place clean after. There was no damage and obviously it wouldn't be clean but we paid a cleaning fee so this would cover the cleaning. She was very hard to get a hold of, she wouldn't return our calls. When we came to the hall to decorate before the wedding it was absolutely fithy, she wanted us to wait till the day of our wedding to decorate and wait for her to clean the hall then. The hall should've been cleaned before hand. The bathrooms weren't fully stocked with toilet paper and paper towel. She didn't want people smoking within 10 meters from the building because of the cigarette butts, she is very very controlling and not mentally sane.
