Local sushi with a consistent quality with fresh ingredients. Sushi always comes with amazing service!
Been eating here since I was a little kid. It's now slightly 12-13 years over. I still love going to this place once in a while. The sushi are very authentic. The chef uses very high quality fish. I always order their tuna and salmon cone. This is only a sushi bar with no hot food provided but it's still my favourite sushi place to go. Their miso is amazing. No one can beat that!
When I visit Vancouver a stop at this place is a must, especially since it's a short walk from the Joyce station where I have to transfer from bus to Skytrain. Solid & inexpensive sushi to go. Three maki rolls at ~$7.50 CAD? Oh, yeah!
FYI: I live in the States (Las Vegas), finding a maki roll bellow $5 USD is a rarity.
Living in the neighbourhood, I decided to go eat here with a friend. It's a little sushi restaurant, ran by a couple. The couple are very friendly and very effiecient. We had ordered a California roll, Dynamite roll and BC roll. It came in ten minutes. The California rolls were really creamy, and I just loved the Dynamite and BC rolls. Good sushi for affordable price? YES! Definitely going back... more
With the abundance of mediocre sushi in the area this little sushi bar on Joyce definitely gives them a run for there money. Good quality service, great sushi, reasonable prices. I'll definitely be back soon. My new favourite for the area.
this place doesn't look like much when you walk past, but do give it a try! cheap prices and fantastic quality. I have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. they do have miso soup but nothing deep fried. writing this review makes me want to order some right now.
This is a neighbourhood sushi place that serves quality sushi with no nonsense service at quite reasonable prices. It is sit-down, but at counters or one table.
There is no tipping; just order your sushi from the nice Japanese couple who own and run the place, pick it up at the counter when it is ready (in-house or take-out), and enjoy.
They don't serve anything but sushi, so no tempura or...

I've walked by here a lot, more times than I should and yesterday I finally got around to actually eating here since it was very close to Joyce Skytrain. This seemed like a healthier choice than the pizza by the slice place. Just so you know they only serve sushi and nothing else. They keep the menu simple. I got the cucumber roll and avocado roll, the basic which is hard to mess up. For what I... more
The elderly couple that run the place are quick and precise with your orders! Always very polite when they serve you!
The awesome part about this place? Its an inexpensive place run and the sushi is made by Japanese people!
The way the rolls hold the shape is even different from most places. It drives me nuts when you go and pick up a roll and half of it starts falling apart before you can...

This seems to be a family run place. There are always the same two older people working there and they are friendly and server you quickly.
The rolls are good, I like sunomono salad very much and you can't go wrong for a buck for a Miso soup ($2 for a large)
Just discovered Shiosai Sushi. Have got food there twice now and it's very fresh and an excellent price. can't fault it. One of the best around.
A very good authentic japanese restaurant where the chef is actually japanese. Sadly, there is no cooked food however the sushi is fresh and tasty. The restaurant is always clean and the prices are good.
