Great Hotel, Great Service!

We were so pleasantly surprised by the beautiful room, ultra comfortable bed and pillows as well as the friendly and prompt service. Within walking distance of all the sights, it will be the only place we stay in Ottawa from now on. Love that dogs of all breeds can stay for free with complimentary dog bed and food and water bowls!

Bottle of water in hotel room cost 3 dollars. Street next to hotel room (at 4 th floor) was noicy. In general we enjoyed and service was good.

Only complaint would be there was no mini fridge in our room otherwise everything else was great!

Close to tourist attractions.

We had a comfortable stay with two close. The hotel was very close to major land marks like parliament hill, Art gallery. We booked at discounted rate so it was worth what we paid for. One draw back is that parking is extra and expensive, however it is right across public parking facility.

Great clean hotel in downtown core within walking distance of the market and everywhere we wanted to go

The Sheraton was fabulous for the price.

Hotel staff were friendly, accommodating and approachable. Felt welcomed right from the time I stepped out from my vehicle with my family in tow. Valet, Concierge, Front Office, In-Room Dinning and House Keeping departments were all excellent in their service delivery.

The perfect choice for staying in Ottawa

Excellent location, you can arrive by bus from the train or airport directly in from of the entry, impossible to get loose !!. Next, you can take a walk and start your tour by exploring the downtown, the Parliament Hill, the Rideau Channel and the ByWard Market.

This hotel was perfect for my family with young children. Not to expensive and located near the parliement. Room was spacious and clean. We also enjoyed the pool which was open early and gave us something to do before breakfast.

Solid 3 Star

The hotel is nice and well located in the downtown core. Couple of things that were annoying: 1) the car valet (waiting to park the car every time your arrive and then waiting in the morning is a hassle) and 2) newspapers not delivered to door (big pile outside the elevator). Small details......but they matter to a business traveler!!!

Nice location, walking distance to parliament hill. Room is a bit old but very clean and comfort. Not bad stay with 140$ discount price. Downside, construction right beside hotel, noisy. Over all 4 out of 5.

I stayed at the 4th floor and have the street view

clean and comfortable. If provide free breakfast will be better. Park at street otherwise need to pay $25 for valet parking. Since we need to get in and out, even the attendant want us to park at the street which is free since next day is Sunday.

Fantastic Value

Amazingly friendly and professional service. Rooms were clean and large. Everything is in good repair. The salt water pool is a nice touch. Downtown Ottawa is a great place to be and this place is smack in the middle of it.

Sheraton while at Winterlude

The Sheraton is well located - easy walk to the canal and ice sculptures. Also close to the Byward Market and many good restaurants. The hotel rooms are spacious and well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful. Also a very good buffet breakfast.

Mixed bag

Hotel staff were very good, my wife had a kidney stone and required an ambulance. Staff were quick to see to our needs and seemed very concerned. Thank you for that.

Quick overnight - clean and safe place to stay. Didn't like the parking - always have to call for your car and remember the piece of paper- and expensive $25.

heart of downtown

We were very pleased with the quality of the hotel and the service. We brought our dog with us and the staff made sure to bring him his own comfy bed, along with a food and water bowl and treats. While many hotels charge an extra "pet fee", the Sheraton does not. At the same time, they really make you and your pet feel welcome.

Good hotel, not far from govt. buildings and Byward Market. Staff was very good, rooms were quiet. Free WiFi worked well. This was our third stay here.

The hotel is quite dated and the room had a musty smell to it that you had to suffer through. Coffeemaker hadn't been cleaned (used filter).

We enjoyed our visit at the Sheraton, which is close to most tourist attractions including Parliament and the Nature Museum. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our only complaint is that Wifi didn't work well in the room. Otherwise we highly recommend the Sheraton.

Walking distance to attractions

Hotel front desk staff were excellent. However, the valet staff were rude and not at helpful. The hotel is excellent. Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. One issue, the scents used in the room are overpowering. It's close to amenities, walking distance to many.

The breakfast was very very expensive (20 dollars each). When we left to go sightseeing we saw a restaurant next to the hotel that had full breakfast for $5.00. That is where we ate before we checked out the next day.

Clean and friendly

This is a decent hotel in the heart of the central district with easy access to parliament. Valet parking was easy and fast. Easy highway access. Nice dining room with (almost overly) friendly staff. Not as convenient as some hotels for access to the market area but overall was clean, very quiet and of generally good value.

Starwood lounge standout

We are Starwood elite members and that means we can access the lounge during our stays here.The breakast is good. Service in the lounge is friendly and efficient and just perfect. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfy. Good curtains block out daylight.

Roomy, but a bit outdated hotel that's in walking distance to a lot of places

Coming from California, it's quite a surprise to see snowing in March. This hotel is close to the Art Center, the mall, Parliament building and other government locations. Hotel staff were very friendly and the room is big, not a bad choice for first time visitor like myself.

The staff tried their best to accommodate us but with noisy garage renovations, there was not much they could do. We had hoped for a romantic get away but the noise was a mood destroyer despite being placed on a high floor. Room was your average comfortable Sheraton standard.

Rooms are old and tired especially the bathroom. No minibar and fridge in the room. Bar lounge of the hotel is not attractive, they could create a much better atmosphere. Good point is the location, right in the middle of the key attractions an the breakfast buffet.

We stayed on a Trafalgar coach tour so once again it was one night stay in saying that we enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The room was large and spacious, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom up to standard apart from no shower cap for my better half. Excellent Conference Hotel

This hotel hosted a major conference for the Canadian Branch of the Tourism and Travel Research Association. All aspects of the experience were excellent. The rooms, the food, the conference facilities, and the audio visual all worked perfectly. The hotel is very centrally located to the Parliament Buildings, he Rideau Canal and the major museums. Why is this hotel so expensive?

These hotel rooms look straight out of the 70's, the valet parking is extremely annoying, and the poor service here makes me feel like a customer, not a guest.
I could have stayed at a super 8 for a quarter of the price of this place, but I didn't because I expected quality. I certainly didn't receive it and will never be back here.

My visit started out great! Upon entering my room, I was greeted with a lovely tray with a Pellegrino, a Fruit basket and a note from the sales manager welcoming me back to the Sheraton. I thought this was a really classy touch and it made me feel great about coming to this hotel.

Perfect stay for Winterlude

Had a wonderful weekend enjoying Ottawa's annual Winterlude festival. The staff were very knowledgeable, helped with dinner reservations and overall made our stay great. Club floor breakfast and lounge were great -- a little oasis in the hotel.

Like all sheratons, the beds are amazing. I ended up actually ordering one of their pillows because it's that great.

I had a great time here. They had plenty of good amenities, a pretty good wireless connection, a fitness center and pool, etc. No bed bugs.It's in walking distance of most places. I like how they had pretty girls working at the front desk. The staff was friendly.

Ottawa Sheraton gets most of it right

Americans staying in this Canadian hotel will mainly feel at home. Bottled water in the room is free. The thermostat can be converted from Celsius to Fahrenheit with a push of a button. Breakfasts in the dining room are pricey but the staff is great and the syrup on your waffles or pancakes is 100% maple with no corn sweetener. That's Starbucks coffee you are drinking. The parking situation is abhorable, you must do valet at $25, no other option available. I was here on business and needed to get to my car and use it often so it was quite annoying. It's an aged hotel so not worth the price. There are many other options.

Not for a work traveller. The only parking available is valet for $25 a day. A rip off as I'm here on work and need to go a I please. Worst part is not having a choice which is ridiculous.

Excellent hotel.
Excellent location, the staff was very friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable.
Really great stay overall.
My only complaint would be the $25 per night parking charge - but at least you get to go in and out as often as you'd like.

This hotel has been beat up in the reviews and I'll admit, my first and second choices were booked. So, I stayed at the Sheraton based on location and gambled regarding the room. I was super kind sucking up to the front desk agent, so she gave me a king Club level room which was really nice.

Good pricing for a downtown, centrally located hotel. Easy to get to and from. Beware the parking situation however, $22 per day if you want to use the valet under the hotel, otherwise you need to find a public lot elsewhere. Staff are very friendly and rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds. Overall excellent value for the price.

Pub on internet said 139$ per night...but when you arrive you have to pay 22$ for the parking for valet who doesn t speak french...wi fi very slow...good room...won t go back... more

Friendly but no Wifi

Staff was very friendly, but they need wifi in the rooms. There was an ethernet plug at the desk, but wifi should be standard at this point. Also, not sure if this is just Canada, but the TV was awful -- both in choices and in the setup. The remote had a delay so when you changed the channel it took 5 seconds to flip to a new channel. Annoying.

Very good accommodation

Was in good location for walking to many of the sites. Restaurant had a very good buffet breakfast at a reasonable price. Would go back when in Ottawa again.

My stay at the Sheraton Ottawa

Location is in business area, not much to do for shopping, night life.However hotel is very close to government buildings (5 min. walk) and 10 min. walk to the market area and national gallery, what I can recommend.I went to see the pop life exhibition in the national gallery, what was amazing and had a bite to eat at Kink, an asian/ sushi restaurant in the market area.Ottawa has no high end... more

Good stay

Our first morning we went out for breakfast to save money, but we spent as much as we would have spent in the hotel. So second morning, we had the breakfast brunch. It was very good with all the fresh fruit and we could wish for. Well worth the price. Garage storage was easy with the fast delivery service when we needed the car. Great location for walking to see the goverment buildings.

The Chateau Laurier and Westin were booked -- the reservation people said my trip coincided with the Tulip Festival -- so it was the Sheraton for me.

My room was large, quiet and comfortable. Excellent shower, comfortable bed, quiet a/c, big screen TV, and plenty of light over the sink. Great location for jogging. The staff was friendly and helpful. The gym was ok but not a standout.
