Most definitely the place to eat in Waterloo.
Waterloo Region is a mix of high-tech start up companies, active immigrant life, 2 universities and 1 community colleges, surrounded by farms, many run by Old Order Mennonites who still drive buggies. The local food culture is as vibrant as you'll find anywhere in Canada.
In the midst of all this is...

I really liked this place. I only ate a scone, but the coffee was truly first rate -- they have a really old espresso machine but the staff is well trained with it.
I came here on the way to a speaking gig at Wilfrid Laurier U, a few blocks away. There was a student vibe; i was the only old geezer and the only one not hooked to a computer. We had a nice little community room booked for larger groups, and got table service--great chili- and quinoia burger-style dishes, delish cookies... more
Once again this restaurant outperforms. Fantastic food super choices and a friendly staff. Return again and you are recognized as a friend.
Great food, at really nice staff. Really loved the fact that they have something for every type of diet.
Also really loved that they support local farmers and businesses.
Really recommend eating here.
Just had lunch there with my mom. The cafe was pretty spacious and it had seating outdoors as well. It has good healthy options, including selections for vegetarians. I had the Veggie Sandwich, and they offered me vegan cheese instead of regular cheese, since that was my dietary preference. A delicious meal, for sure, and I will definitely go back... more
Just finished having lunch at Seven Shores .... The homemade sweet potatoe soup was excellent. Also had the veggie burger, which, coming from a meat guy, was pretty good. They do a brisk lunch hour business, an order and pay at the counter and we'll bring it to your table routine. Friends there had the spring rolls, which they said... more
I visited Seven Shores this weekend after a birthday party. We came with about 7 people and waited at the front for a few minutes before being told to seat ourselves. Once we picked a table and were ready to order we were directed to the front counter where the menus and cashier was. I picked out an omelet (which... more
Great place to drop in chat and browse while drinking quality coffee or tea. The enjoyable atmosphere is augmented by the delightfully attentive staff.
I've eaten here several times: the sandwiches are pretty good, but the coffee is tasteless. But I hesitate to eat here because the service is bad. We waited for over half an hour for two sandwiches: reason given was that a big order had gone in before us. And that excuse was only given after we complained, no offer of... more
On to of the nice place, they got many gluten free options.
saturday morning...honey bee and me....what a cute little place....not too much deep fried, greasy food on the menu....what a nice change....honey had a three item omlette, daddy had eggs benedict.....omlette with grainy toast, delicious....benedict very tasty, with a side of fresh fruit and a small salad with nuts (different for breakfast but very tasty)....will be back for sure....total bill... more
I met a friend here for lunch. We each had a sandwich and salad. Both very tasty and of high quality. Staff are friendly and service is good. You sit close together so the place is fairly noisy when full. Price is on the higher side.
