I came here for the first time, and I really liked the whole layout of this place. Starting with the never ending escalator to the top floor all the way to the theaters. I wish they implemented some of the features of the newer Cineplex's which allow the seats to recline and the arm rest to move up but I'm not disappointed.
Only thing that bothered me about this place is the lack of free parking, If I am already paying 15 for a movie and 10 for popcorn and drinks I shouldn't have to pay anther 15-20 to park. So while I would go back, it won't be whilst driving.
I always go to this theatre when I am in Toronto. I like it because it is big and has good food inside. The prices are high though, but that is typical for movies these days. I just love the size and the decor.
A pretty decent theatre that is in the heart of downtown and near subway stations. 2 levels with a lounge/food area on the 2nd level that's more than just popcorn and nachos. You can actually come here earlier and grab a bite to eat while sitting in the lounge with a full bar so you can actually see what you are eating instead of eating it in the dark.
Was here for a TIFF movie and this is a...

Definitely the best of the downtown theatres, as they have multiple theatres of various sizes including an IMAX.
Once they get a VIP section or the ability to take a beer from the bar into the theatre, this place will earn a 5th star. Until then you'll be paying $4.50 for a bottle of water or $5 for the smallest pop.
Sidenote: Parking can be a pain depending on when you go, but there is...

I use Scotiabank and I'm fairly certain I have about 50 free movies worth of Scene points, but I have absolutely no idea how to access them. Thus, whenever I am here it costs me an arm and a leg, but that's no different than any theatre... I digress.
Reasons to love this multiplex:
+Full bar
+Poutine, pizza or burger? Yeah, those are concession options...
+Really long, ride-like escalators...

Come check out the escalators and the Coke freestyle soda machines! This location has plenty of theatres which are usually very clean.
This is one of my favorite theatre locations in the GTA.
I love the location of this theatre. The seats are comfy and they offer scene points for game during commercials for incentive which is great, also I love how they have a bar and multiple bars round the area. It's an expensive theatre but every now again you will win free movies via scene points. Super convenient location and have the best movie times and offerings of most theatres in TO.
Probably my favourite cinema in Toronto.
Super convenient and plenty of bars to go before or after.
They recently started doing this fancy popcorn inside, holy cow the birthday cake flavour is the diggity!
I love the huge star trek replica ships as you take the long a@s escalator. Each journey up and down is really me thinking of how i will steal those one day.
I rarely interact with the...

This is my go to movie theatre mainly because I live in cityplace and its the nearest one walking distance wise.
They tend to be extremely packed on blockbuster debut nights (example: avengers movie, the waiting lines were literally a block and a half in length!)
Like all cineplex theatres the concession stands/fast food places are ridiculously overpriced and drinks over-iced.
They have a...

Came here last Friday with my girlfriend to watch American Sniper. Got a free popcorn combo courtesy of her scene card and free admission from a Christmas giftcard. So far so good. We sat down and the trailers started rolling and then began to cut in and out. Shortly after that a cineplex employee appeared and said that due to technical difficulties we would not be seeing American Sniper. So we... more
Best theatre downtown. I remember coming here back in the day when it was known as Paramount and it's great to see that this place is still looking great. The renovations are nice, lots of theatres, and fancy drink dispensers.
The go-to theatres for downtown area, at least the most popular one. The AMC theatres beside Eatons is also popular, but much smaller. There's also a nice little threatre on college called carlton theatres which is the cheapest and great for university kids. This one is the most refined and has great big theatre rooms. If you want quality for your buck, go here!
As far as movie theatres go this one is pretty top notch. It's recently renovated and has the best thing of all - IMAX! The staff are typical movie theatre staff - young kids who do not want to work. But even still I've never had an issue here. It's a very central location and there are tons of great restos in the area for you to enjoy after or before going to your movie (I for one am a huge... more
Great place to watch a movie. Nothing to fancy here, but also nothing bad and never too too busy. They have a nice lounge beside the concession. Not the friendliest staff, but I'm sure I wouldn't be too stoked serving popcorn for hours at a time either. It's a good location, not too busy, and the popcorn is still great.
Came here the another night for a preview of a film. Conveniently located, there's a lot that you can do both before and after catching a flick. Pricing is your standard movie theatre pricing; the options for snacks is larger here. There's a popcorn kiosk with a variety of flavoured popped corn; I also saw the pop machine that has like two million types of cokes. The most fun part though, is... more
Best screens in town, best movie selection in town, sadly indigo and Starbucks closed next door, now what to do while I wait.
Upsides are the large screens and comfy seats - best imax ever - lots of theatres in the theatre so tons of choices of great movies.... also have bar and many restaurant choices!!!! only downside is that it's a ways from downtown , if you're driving the parking lot nextdoor is pricey.... more
I have been going here with my boyfriend since we first started dating and it's the midpoint between our houses
I love this theatre it's big there are tons of places to eat nearby and you can get drinks in the theatre because right beside the concession stand is a bar or go to the imax theatre and watch a great quality film
I hope they put in the new VIP theatres like they have at yorkville and...

What an iconic building! If you live in Toronto and don't know Scotiabank Theatre with the endless escalator, shame! Anyway, I enjoy watching movies here: the theatres fill up quite a bit, even on weekdays. It's a great location for TIFF screenings a well - a little different from the Lightbox and the historical theatres of TO but well worth it, especially...

Excellent everytime. It's on the pricier side, but I just go to Rainbow Cinemas if i'm looking to save a couple of bucks :)
Cineplex is where I go for all of my IMAX or 3D experiences or they often get some wicked Limited releases too, so I'm always given a solid selection.
It's got a huge variety of screens but it is overpriced. Love the IMAX and Ultra AVx screens out there and there is good decent crowd too.
Maybe I'm just too familiar with watching movies in theaters in the U.S. (Which drives me batty since people do not know how to behave in theaters anymore), but the ScotiaBank crowd was amazing. We saw Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and even though the theater was packed, we barely heard a peep out of anyone. Thanks, Canada!... more
Plenty of cinemas and easy access as it is in the centre of downtown core. I enjoy running up those long stairs and you will to if you like a quick rush before your movie. I wished cineplex bought back NYC fries because outtakes is not the same.
Well, they have a ~new food vendor~ called:
~*~OUTTAKES Backstage Bistro~*~
Yes, it's wildly overpriced - $15 for a chicken sandwich meal with soggy fries. BUT the chicken sammer was not entirely disgusting and partially enjoyable. AND you can take the whole thing to the theatre in a tray and get your munch on. AT least it's not burger king?
You know those first 4 rows of seats right in...

Scotiabank Theatre is probably the largest theatre downtown and usually features the latest releases. There's decent selection of Ultra AVX, Imax and regular movie screens. It IS, however, one of the more popular theatres so I'd suggest getting AVX tickets or going early if it's a new release.
In terms of the food, my favourite feature at this theatre is the freestyle Coke machine where you...

Come early for amazing seats!
I use to work for Famous Players when i was a teenager and I have to say Scotiabank Theatre is by far one of the nicest theatres out there. The theaters are clean and comfortable. However, the tickets are expensive for the crazy IMAX 3D version of your movie...remember to use your Scene points card.!!
Conveniently situated in the heart of Old Toronto, this cinema has everything that you need to enjoy the latest movies on a big Imax screen.
Underground parking is available in the same building. Only one problem that we had is that we couldn't get directly from the parking to the cinema, so we had to go upstairs and walk to...

My go to theatre when I want to see the new blockbuster movie on a giant screen in Ultra-whatever possibly IMAXy 3D-ified glory...unless it's not playing here. Normally, I hate going to the movies. I hate that when there is lots of room that people insist on sitting right next to me. I hate the people who talk about the dumb s@!t in their lives while I'm trying to take in the previews. And I hate that by the time the movie actually starts, my popcorn is half way done.

Probably one of my favourite theaters in all of Toronto.
Big, dumb, million dollar budget Hollywood flicks? Check!
Overpriced tickets and concessions? Check! (You can even get Burger King here--so gross!)
(Who the heck wants to try and watch a movie when the slob next to you is chowing down on a burger?)

Cushy, stadium seating? Of course!
Lots and lots of teens/tweens? You know it!

I'm a little biased in liking this theatre maybe because I can walk there quite easily. But I can't think of any other one that has such curb appeal. This is a super typical theatre. Nothing special, but nothing horrible to report either.
Scotiabank has been around for a long time, but yet Cineplex has managed to keep this location clean, well maintained and open. Given the fact that people tend to use Netflix and other content programs, I'm actually surprised at how well it's doing.

I've been to this theater quite a few times and only now decided to write a review for it. First off, I like the fact that you have to go up that huge escalator in order to get to the theaters, its unique off the bat. I love this theatre - the location is amazing, the spread and type of theatre choice is unbeatable, and the service has always been seamless.

This is my number one choice in the city however, and will...

In most ways, it's typical of Cineplex theatres, but some differences from those that I know out west. First thing I noticed is that you have to take escalators up from the ticket area to the main area. They also have a VIP lounge which I still have no idea what exactly that is.
