My first experience at Sapporo was about a year ago. I had never even heard of such a concept as all you can eat sushi! I expected your typical walk up to a buffet and load up on dried up sushi and soggy tempura. What a pleasant surprise! The menu is chock full of choices, and if you're not too keen on the whole raw fish thing, fear not, there is an abundance of choices for even the sqeamish here! Crisp and light tempura veggies, noodle dishes, fried rice, teryaki, soup, grilled meat... it's all there. You can order everything that you want all at once, and they bring it out dish by dish over the course of the meal or you can order it one dish at a time and gauge your hunger as you go along. Don't forget to leave room for their amazing ice cream... the green tea flavour is the perfect way to finish your meal.
Fantastic sushi, sashimi, etc. Huge portions but you feel guilty paying so little. Service is great and the staff -- unusual for a sushi place -- has a great sense of humour. Free parking if you can find a spot. I've had better sushi but never at an AYCE place. Enjoy!
The food is always amazing when I come here. The beef is tender, the ribs have a lot of meat on them. The Satays are my favorite as well as the crab and spinach soup. Tiramisu is pretty good too.
It's pretty hard to find parking but they will give you a parking pass to park in the back where you have to pay.
I love the iPad ordering system.
Never disappointed and I will be coming back!
Almost as good as August 8. Definitely has the best ice cream in town for a sushi place.
I was dining alone.
I felt rushed and the service was REALLY SLOW.!
I had arrived wearing clean clothes and I was clean shaven. The server was more interested in the table of four suit & tie yuppies . she was laughing and smiling with them. But rude to me. Before I could speak she rudely said " only dinner ayce now! "
I was hungry so I made the mistake of staying and ordering.

Sapporos is the only all you can eat Japanese restaurant I frequent for both dine in and take out. Although some people may find when a waiter frequents the table; an annoyance; I, on the other hand, enjoy it. They've never messed up my order and the food has always been consistent and delicious. I always recommend sapporos to others.
I came in for all you can eat lunch and it did not disappoint. The iPad ordering system was pretty neat and the other reviewer(s) that said it was confusing are just dumb because it's simple. And since it was my first time the waitress walked me through how to use it and confirm orders without any issues.
My only issue was they used a lot more filler ingredients to the rolls and understand...

Tasty, fast, fresh and affordable.
This is my go to Japanese restaurant in Hamilton. Lot of praise. Especially myself being vegetarian, there are lots of options.
Sometimes food gets mixed up between tables but given the chaos. I think it's a bit understandable.
We come here at least once a month.
Amazing food ! Ordering food is easy on I pad , but remember what you ordered . It gets sent to the wrong table sometimes and you'll be waiting for ever. All you eat is good and competitive pricing. Small cups of water and they don't always fill up, you'll be left thirsty. Parking is always packed. But so far the best sushi I've had.
We go every Wednesday at 3pm for the lunch menu
My favorite sushi place in Hamilton!
The iPad ordering system is ideal so you can see a full visual and description of the food you're ordering. It is also categorized phenomenally.
The parking situation is always a tad hectic. You need to walk back to your car to put your parking pass on your dashboard (free), not a big deal at all. Just chilly in the winter months.

This place has gone drastically downhill in the past couple of years. The new iPad ordering system is horrible and unreliable. I came here a few days ago with a group of friends and I thought it was spectacular.
We had just come from Pier 8, starving and gotten a table for 10 AYCE lickity-split. The food came out really quickly and the servers were all extremely nice. I kept on ordering plate after plate of deep fried bananas (I love deep fried bananas) and they didn't even bat an eye.

This place is to die for. The food is always hot, fresh and the best quality. Highly recommend this restaurant. I only have two complaints would loved to of taken my leftovers home and they don't allow this here (understandably, because it is all you can eat for a price However if I've paid $35 to eat there and there is only a few scrap's left they should allow customers to take this home).... more
Went here based on a friend's recommendation.
We were greeted very cordially and welcoming by hostess. Our waiter was also very polite and friendly. The people who brought us our food, not so much.
We didn't go with the all-you-can-eat and instead ordered a la carte. The prices seemed cheap, but you kind of get what you pay for. The sushi rolls had such a thin layer of rice on them! The...

I'm a regular customer and I've never been so disappointed. Server wasn't pleasant and the food was HORRIBLE! It was unappetizing and I'm definitely not coming back again.
Such a fantastic experience for one who is familiar with this cuisine and also for one who's being introduced to it for the first time. I was always scared to venture into sushi restaurants until I was introduced to this one. The atmosphere is comfortable but usually busy and the food is outstanding. They use iPads for their menus which is a unique experience onto itself for this area.... more
I've ordered delivery a couple of times from this place . It was alright , I'd order here again but it's not rave worthy.
I rarely visit Hamilton these days; however, when I am there I try to dine at Sapporo. Since my last visit, it has been nicely renovated and it now has Ipad menus. The Ipads are a big improvement over the old menus.

This is a standard AYCE sushi joint that doesn't disappoint.
Solid menu - I like the additional Thai options.
iPad ordering has become the standard which helps with order accuracy, but not necessarily with speed of service.
Items often come either all at once or in an odd order, but the taste, quality and price make up for it.
The parking lot is a mess - super tight and always packed, but it's...

Visited Sappora after my son's recent graduation. Although my family had visited prior, it was my first visit. I really enjoyed that one could order from an ipad. Service was quick and the food was great.
In summary, a great place to visit with average "All you can eat sushi" places. Will visit again.
Went solo. I love the new "order with a nice clean ipad" that is beside you for your entire stay. (remember to swipe/pan to the right of the screen for more menu items.
Just tap how many you want ie: 4 taps for four salmon etc. Remember that Rolls come in 6 to 8 pieces so dont over tap !...

This place has free parking and had great sashimi and sushi. Quality was better than expected. Ipad ordering system was like the spring sushi. I been twice both time I was full and satisfied. Definitely a go to place if I want sushi her is Hamilton.
I enjoyed everything about my recent visit to Sapporo. I was delighted by the digital menu. As a big fan of efficiency, this system was brilliant for reducing wait times and circumvented the lanuage barrier that can sometimes accompany ordering sushi. We met with some friends at Sapporo a few months ago. The sushi is good, average for a regular all-you-can-eat establishment. Our friends raved about the sushi, we... more
Sapporo is comparable to Spring Sushi minus the snobby attitude! My sister and I came here for lunch one day and we loved it. The service was excellent, our food came out pretty fast and it was delicious and fresh. I've heard they recently introduced ipads for their ordering systems which is a plus. Can't wait to stop by again soon!
I had the All You Can Eat lunch. I like my experience. The IPad ordering is cute. Food came reasonably fast. Salmon is fresh. Other raw fish tasted not as good. The nigiri collection was limited. Maybe because it was lunch. I hope they have a wide collection for dinner. They have some decent hot dishes. Too bad that they don't have sashimi (maybe not for lunch). The noodle soup was a little... more

This is a mediocre sushi restaurant. Parking can be quite a pain depending on the time of day you go. The space inside is fairly small but is just enough that it does not feel crowded.
The food is pretty good, I have no complaints. The service was average, nothing exceptional.
Overall, I would recommend this location to a friend.
had a lunch buffet here with Fei. The salmon sushi is my favourite food and the buffet provides a lot of sushi choices.
I've been here dozens of times in the past and yesterday I had an unsatisfactory experience. Took a friend for lunch and the service was very slow. The restaurant was not particularly busy, so I am uncertain what the issue was. ? New waiter? Or distracted waiter?
The food was good other than a few pieces of nigiri were warm?...

Food was great but the service was terrible this visit. They lost track of our sushi order and took 30 minutes to reorder everything and by the time it came everyone had lost their appetite.

Sapporo is one of the best all you can eat sushi restaurants that I have ever come across in my life (so far). The sushi is always well made and assembled. Their kitchen goods are always made in good quality. It does get busy, but it's definitely worth waiting for - you can also call in advance and put a reservation down...just in case. I must say I eat sushi fairly frequently. This was my first time at saporro's. It was take-out and the food took far longer then was quoted. Our favorite sushi restaurant - my kids love it - prices are really reasonable - menu extensive and being newly renovated, it's quite comfortable. Make reservations or go early (like 6pm) because by 8:00 it's packed!
Favourite sushi place in Hamilton! Excellent fresh sushi. The service is one of the best for ayce sushi as well.
Before the sushi buffet craze took off here, Sapporo was a neat place to go. Of course you could order from the menu and the food was good. Service was so so with many items delivered that were not ordered, but I found that at August 8 and Sushi Star. Could be a language thing, could be a volume thing.
I will never go there again. Bit into mouldy fish, should I say once is more then enough.
That place used to be a different restaurant and it was designed very well. Since the new owner took it over, looks like they have not cleaned it once for over a year.
Terrible!
Never had sushi before in my life, and a friend took me for lunch. What a treat. The restaurant is very clean, service was good. The food is nice and presentation is great but the rolls are a tad bland and dry compared to other places. Sushi pizza was yummy. Overall 3.8/5
Ordered the 'all you can eat' lunch menu - the food just kept coming! Very tastefully presented, service prompt and polite, decor clean and modern. A very nice experience.
Great value, great food. Parking is tight, need to get permit from hostess. Plenty of choices, if you leave hungry, not their fault.
This was a great little sushi spot that's equipped to handle parties of all sizes. All-you-can-eat sushi is available and that is what our party of four chose. We had several different rolls, seaweed salad, edamame and miso soup and it was delicious! Def. worth returning to try more rolls!
Always a good choice, great service, comfortable modern setting.
Never been disappointed, fish is always fresh, beef rolls are always tender and the price different for dinner is certainly worth it to try the salmon salad, beef tataki and have the extra choice of butter fish sashimi. Certainly better in every way than majority of the other sushi buffets that...

But I love sushi. Sapporo is his favourite. They have excellent non-fish foods. Chicken cutlets are his favourite. It is worth the money. Younger crowd everytime I have gone, but the sushi is the best i've had in the area. Excellent service, probably the best for a sushi restaurant i've been too.
I'm a returning customer here. Foods are great and they just renovated. Service are friendly but does get really full during the weekend. Reservation is a must on popular days. The food serve are fresh and made with care. It just a good Japanese restaurant with no wow factor to it.
PS, don't be tricked by the Thai on the store. It's not that Thai. Only a few Thai items are on the menu.
Sapporo is a busy place and its a reliably good place for delicious sushi. I'm not a long term sushi connoisseur by any means - however I can assure you that its always been fresh and very good.
Lunch menu differs slightly from the dinner menu (certain special rolls are not available and sashimi also not available) at lunch time....

Service can be spotty, but the freshness and quality of the food makes the extra wait (when it occurs) worthwhile. Last time we visited, we had amazing service, friendly staff and we will continue our patronage.
The food was great, the service was friendly. However, this is not a family friendly place. The seat maximum is 4 and a small 4 at that.
