Serves a need
July 01, 2014Stayed here for 2 nights with a baseball team. Staff was freindly and accomodating. The rooms, are updated but small. Again it served the needs of a team stay, with the staff allowing the players and parents to do what they do with out hassle which is nice. Complimentary breakfast, was very good!

Nice but needs updating

Noisy parties, poor quality mattresses

Stayed here overnight for a conference, and the conference was paying for the room. There were a bunch of hockey tournaments in town and the hotel was sold out. I was put in the hospitality room, which was weird, but fine.

Getting old
December 13, 2013Stayed here with my wife after a function in the banquet rooms downstairs. Cocktails were supposed to be at 6. 30 and eating at 7. 00. Guess what we didn't eat till around 8. 00. Not BlackBerry friendly - Stay away or buy iphone

I stayed for 3 nights in a suite and the room was clean as to staff was very friendly.
The furnace did not work...made lots of noise but wouldn't put out any heat and it blew right at my face in bed so I had to shut it off!

Bad room temperature control

I stayed at this hotel this past week.
The hotel staff was very friendly and breakfas was complimentary and of great choice and quality.
The disapointing part was with the room temperature which was at around 25 C and the air system fan was so noisy that it baffled/overpowered hallway or outside noise.

Consistantly Very Good
February 04, 2013I stay at this facility on every business trip to Brandon (about every 6 weeks), and am always pleased with the Royal Oak. Rooms are large, well appointed and very clean. Love the covered parking in the winter, too. Echo Diningroom is great for dining in, or room service. Never have had any problems here.

This place is one of the worst hotels I've stayed in -- period. Never have I dealt with someone in the service industry with such disrespectful attitude. The Microtel Inn and Suites in Parry Sound was close, but this takes the cake.

Room was clean and quiet. Staff were extremely helpful. Dining room experience was very positive - food was great. Dining room staff remembered our drink order from previous visits - coke no ice and coffee with cream. Excellent menu choices. Service was fast.

July 06, 2012Hotel manager was not pleased I used Expedia to book the hotel. The doors to the rooms are very heavy and when left to close by themselves are really noisy. We had two nights with drunken kids partying all night, not fun. Rooms are comfortable and clean.

The hotel was totally not worth the price of the room.
The staff was rude and not interested in assisting us. At times the staff seemed incompetent and more interested in chatting. The serving staff was rude.
The pool was cold and the second day the pool attendant was either sleeping or more interested in texting.

Good place to stay
June 19, 2010We stayed at the Royal Inn for one night so we could take our three grandchildren on the waterslides. Our room; a suite with two queen size beds; was roomy and perfect. The staff was very friendly and the accommodations were fantastic. This was our second stay there and it will not be our last. I only wish that they had a gym as well.
