We stayed here about 15 years ago and the proprietors were the sweetest couple and the place was clean and well kept. Fast forward 15 years and we pull up to bed mattresses thrown outside by the shed, debris all around and a news report that a meth lab was found there just a year ago! When it came time... more
We went to see a couple of plays in Stratford and needed to stay overnight. Because we found that the usual hotels which we had used previously were completely booked, we made a reservation to stay at the Rosecourt Motel. This was a mistake; the beds seemed clean and fairly new, but everything else was very old ,very dirty, and... more
When my son and I first arrived, the proprietor and his wife were fighting over how early we should check out the next day. She said 11, he first said 10, then 10:30. (We ended up leaving at 9:30)
The room smelled musty and terrible. I could barely breathe even with the windows open. My allergies and asthma were really...

The room we had was large, with two double beds. The bathroom was new, and very clean. Beds were very clean, but there was evidence of dust on clock and dirty window frames. Also a weird car freshener attached to the hanging lamp. It was very quiet and inexpensive for Stratford.
Was really tempted to stop at the local flea market to pick up some lampshades. Is it really too much to expect shades on lamps? Guess so. We aren't picky people but were overwhelmed by the smell of must and mold in one of our rooms. At least the sheets were clean.
The room served our purpose for an overnight stay. It's a drive away from downtown Stratford. Motel office was closed when we left. There is a drop box for keys. Air conditioning seemed to be on some sort of timer which made for awkward climate control.
This 1949 vintage motel needs to be approached with care. Rooms are not standard either to size or amenities. We had a European sized room with microwave, telephone and refrigerator. The bathroom was equally small and poorly designed. We had to ask for a hair dryer, clock, and a blanket. The bedding was clean and the mattress comfortable. If cleanliness... more
Stayed there for 2 nights and would sure come back here again...
1) Nice rooms at the back
2) Quite and large rooms
3) Room provides everythin that someone needs (Wifi, fridge, microwave, AC)
The motel has a lot of issues and is also a health hazard:
1) The air quality is terrible due to mold on the walls and smoke coming from other rooms and previous visitors. The ventilation is poor which was something that bathered my lungs. I'm lucky I don't have asthma or allergies because the air quality could trigger a...

My hubby and I stayed there for a weekend in august at the Rosecourt. Our room was at the back side close to the garden. We had memorable visit due to the fact that the shows were excellent and found a very nice place to stay. It was quite and night, which is always good for a good night sleep.... more
Heavily armed Stratford police took down a drug operation in raids on three separate locations in the city Thursday night.
Insp. Mike Bellai said five people were arrested and drugs seized included methamphetamine, prescription painkillers OxyContin, Oxycocet, Percocet and morphine, marijuana and cannabis resin.
They're facing a number of charges including trafficking methamphetamine,...

First of all, I have an extremely high tolerant on a lot of things and you will see that I even made up a lot of excuses for them myself. Rosecourt is simply one of the worst that I have been in. It is old, so is understandable that not everything is perfect. I stayed there for at least 7... more
We spent one night on LAbor Day weekend at the Rosecourt Motel, which had been recommended by some friends, who stay there every time the travel to Stratford. We made a last-minute decision to go to the Stratford Festival, so our choices for lodging were limited. The best thing I can say is that our room was large and very... more
Room was very dirty! I got stung by a wasp that was under the edge of the bed. Could not even sit on the toilet properly as bathroom is to small. Beds were not made properly and not clean, told it was a king size bed to find it was 2 twins pushed together. No coffee maker in room,no alarm clock,... more
I visited Stratford for the weekend, and stayed 2 nights at the Rosecourt. I was happily surprised of the convenient location- just off Erie Street and close to Williams Coffee. My room was spatious, the bathroom large, and everything was clean. The water pressure was also a happy discovery- almost a massage head with plenty of hot water. I'm returning... more
Room was clean and small; typical of it's era. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. Friendly staff. Our room had a bright outside light that shone through the cheap blinds and was left on most of the night. Internet access is okay, but better the closer you are to the office. Overall, it isn't a good value for the price.
It was the first time my wife and I have visited stratford to see the shows. We found this motel through the visitors guide and had amazing time while we stayed there. The room had nice TV, air conditioning and wireless internet, which was really helpful. The garden was very beautiful and had nice place for people to sit at... more
This is an old plain motel, showing its age but still taking in the budget traveler. The rooms are very basic but acceptable, the gardens a pleasant welcome. Unfortunately one of our beds had obviously been slept in, and we were stuck with asking for clean sheets from a confused young man in the motel office and remaking the bed... more
It's hard to review a place like this. It's a 1 to 1.5 star motel, so it's hard to be effusive about it, but as motels at this level go, it's pretty good.
We were only in Stratford for one night, so it just didn't seem worth spending on a nicer hotel. And I'm not into B&Bs. When I am...

i am very picky about where i sleep and use the shower but this motel made sure i felt home
it was very clean and tidy
i would stay here again if i was to visit stratford and would surely recommend it to family and friends
i really liked the room's( mine and my friends) which included about 5 rooms. Both double and single beds. The were nice friendly people working which helped us with directions and the setting was nice and peaceful. If I was to go back to Stratford i would definitely stay there.
We had no complaints.
We never expected a five star hotel, overall it was good, spacious rooms, well located,
service was good. Rooms have a TV, fridge and microwave and include simple breakfast.
This motel states on their wesite that all 20 of their rooms are smoke free. We arrived at our room at 11 pm in the evening after attending a performance at the Stratford Theater and went to bed as we had an early start the next morning. We stayed in bed 30 minutes, and headed back home which is a... more
