This pub overlooks the Moffat Bridge and the Fraser River, with an outdoor deck to frame the view. The menu is broad, ranging from burgers to steaks to East Indian specialties. Families are welcome, and you're sure to find something that will appeal to everyone.
This place is always a bit of a chance. Service varies widely from great to nearly non-existant.
Food is good, and their homemade chicken fingers are the best in town. Yorkshire puddings are nearly always great, although the prime rib is chancy - sometimes nice, sometimes extremely fatty.
The rest of their food is average to good, as long as...

I have been to this restaurant a few times and each time I have been very disappointed. Our group (usually up to 10 people) have always been reserved on the restaurant side and we were constantly searching for a server to take our drink orders and order our food. When we finally did receive our food it was over 90... more
When we went in we had to send my husband to the pub side to hunt down a waitress. All the lights were off and no music playing at all . Got seated and the table was a tiny bit dirty and when I slid my napkin over they had hidden a huge smear of food underneath! I asked for... more
Stopped here out of the blue on a weekend lunchtime, Fast smiling server, had quesadillas and chicken salad and dessert. l say surprisingly good as it is hard to get a really good quesadilla that isnt too soggy, great all round!
Our favorite spot for lunch. Great burgers, but lots of other interesting choices too, like Keema rolls (if you like Indian)
We really enjoyed our meal at the River Rock. We ate on the pub side which shares the menu with the steakhouse which is a family restaurant. Our server was new and a bit unsure of the menu items, but she more than made up for it with her enthusiasm, attentiveness and great disposition. The pub has a partial view... more
The food is the only good thing about this restaurant, and even that was mediocre. The server(older woman, about 40), was rude and not friendly at all .I overheard her talking about her co-workers in a very rude and unprofessional manner. She was so condescending towards the newer employee, who must have only been 19. Not something that i want... more
We have eaten there many times.. the food is excellent.. even the pub food is good too. .
great view overlooking the town & river. Usuallly when we go its never that busy, but I hear weekend nights its gets crazy..
We recently were married in Barkerville and held our reception at the River Rock. The management was great to work with, and made sure that every little detail was perfect for our big day. At our dinner, we served Poached Salmon, Filet Mignon, and Chicken Cordon Bleu. Every single plate was delicious, and our guests loved the food! They also... more
friendly staff. pretty quiet for 4pm on a tuesday. drinks on restaurant side - menu different from pub side which we didn't realize till we were leaving in search of food that we probably could have found on the pub side
Our family booked a table for a family dinner party....we were worried but to our surprise most excellent meals all around and great service as well. I had the schnitzel Oscar and it was fantastic but the nice surprise was the fresh veggies on my plate...best of all no green beans which seems to be a staple food in Quesnel... more
They have East Indian Food which is quite good. I had a dish that was very spicey and asked for yogurt to cool it down. They didn't have any but gave me sour cream and then charged me for it. Not impressed.
The Riverrock is a really lovely restaurant. The red section of the building (looks like a little log house) is very charming! We had the place to ourselves and the server gave us loads of privacy. There are candles on the tables and overlooking the river was really romantic. The menu has a bit of everything and the server was... more
The best service came from a server who had been on the job only two days. The whole time it felt like we were in the middle of a dispute between the cook and a server. The server walked out mid service and the cook appeared to be on something.
Nice atmosphere - but a little on the pricy side in everything...
Service is nice - but a little distracted with other things...you
know - not the customers?!?! I must agree with Christine - clicky
place. Although the background mucis playing here is better
than the others....and the huge TV screens are a bonus depending
on what sport season you're in...

Drinks are high priced. service is good in family side, not so
