Price was great. Staff was friendly. Room, though basic, was very clean. Hotel was also quiet.
price was good\n\nhard to find, it's the student residence of Sheridan College, parking is away from building
The service\n\nVery difficult to locate. few amenities in the room. Dorm like feel.
Rooms were very clean, location was almost perfect for our plans.\n\nThe walk to the parking lot was a bit long. Coffee maker in the room or lobby would have been nice.\n\nGreat idea for a college to rent rooms in the summer. Oakville, by the lake was one of the best surprizes of our trip.
Close to a great running routs. Beautiful backyard love it. Fridge and microwave was a plus.\n\nOld tvs with no remote. Bed was old decore was awful. Walls were empty with an ugly wallpapers.
People doing the reservations should make sure that everything is fill up correctly
staff and clean rooms\n\nnothing\n\nit is organized and clean. staff are cooperative and helpful , you can count on them. the A/C is really cool and overall place is calm and friendly
Room was not what I was expecting for my guests who visited from out of town. It was a dorm room which reminded me of my university days. Room was really far away from the elevators making it hard to kids and luggage. Parking was far away. Facility was under construction. Room entrance was blocked with buckets to catch flood waters from recent storms. Carpet was ripped and it had a musty smell.
You get what you pay for but it's not a horrible place.
Hotel is hard to find in the first place since there is no obvious signs around it. But the hotel staffs were very friendly. Hotel is more like a student dorm. But had all the stuffs needed.
It is like a hotel. Just missing some wallpaper in the alley and hair dryer in the room. Great to have a fridge and microwave in the room. Unfortunately, no breakfast.
-no trashcan in the restroom -beds were extremely loud and squeaky -no coffeemaker in room -unclear instructions for how to get your room cleaned
As with some other reviewers, I thought it was a Residence Inn, and even after I realized the mistake had a hard time finding it. It's a college dorm but it's not Animal House. It's not flash, it doesn't have the latest amenities -- you can't even adjust the temperature in your room -- and it shows signs of wear. But my room was clean (worn, but clean), everything worked, it was generally... more
Bed was very comfortable! bathroom was clean, skimpy on the towels and no face cloths. No dish/hand towel in kitchenette so bring your own if you intend to use the facilities. Staff was very accommodating.
Renovation is a major factor to our disappointing.
The hotel i s hard to find, especially since there are no signs indicating that this is a hotel. It is actually part of a student complex that is being converted to a hotel. Staff is very nice a pleasant. The rooms are nice, but not luxury. They have continental breakfast, which is pretty good.
I would stay there again it was close to everything not far from Toronto and had fridge microwave and all the things I needed
I really liked my long weekend in Oakville and your hotel was very nice. There were still people working on the renovation - it was O.K. with me. The room was clean, nice, I was happy with the internet connection , TV and the phone. I have only one little complain - breakfast choice was very limited - I would expect more variety of food. The staff was nice, friendly and helpful and I am going... more
I had booked thinking it was Residence by Marriott, I had no choice to cancel, so I had to stay. Renovation is underway, but the rooms were too pricey. Parking is too far and had to walk thru woods, scary at night. Room condition looked like rundown, carpet in bad shape, beds were decent, could not regulate room temperature and window blinds were cheap stayed opened and light came thru out.
Excellent choice for The Canadian Open considering other hotels were so expensive.
We cancelled the stay. Found the "suite" to be dorm rooms that were far from satisfactory. From the name advertised we expected far more than was offered. The staff at the college was very helpful in assisting in finding other accomidation.
The rooms are clean in general, but if the wall can be refurbished it will be better. It will be great if one of the bed could be queen size
The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. Unfortunately there was construction outside that made sleeping impossible after 6:30am. The front desk was helpful and courteous. The breakfast could have used more variety instead of the same options of bagels, bread and cereal every morning for 5 days. Given the price compared to the hotels closer to Toronto, it served its purpose and we'll... more
We enjoyed our stay. We were visiting family in the area, so we were not planning on being at the hotel much. For the price, it was worthwhile. The rooms were very basic; there was a small kitchen as well which was helpful.
People in the front desk very nice and helpful. The rooms are school dorms, very simple. If you are in a short visit to the Sheridan College with a prospect student, as I was, Is convenient, the kids has a taste of the campus living.
College residence under summer renovation. Helpful staff, but the facility is minimal. Sound travels - noisy trying to sleep. A/C didn't work properly - turned on and off every few minutes so I had to turn to "Off" in order to sleep. Parking a bit of a walk away but plentiful. The two bedrooms and kitchenette were nice but not needed for my stay. Better suited to families looking for cheap... more
located a short walk from friends condo beautiful park adjacent... close to grocery store... restaurants again within walking distance.. enjoyed my 2 nites and will definately return when in Oakville..
It was awful. The first room we had was very dirty - and hadn't been cleaned yet. The second room was fine - however, the ONE night we stayed, the power had to be out for whatever reason - so when we got back, we had to use a flashlight...My wife is scared of walking in the dark, so this was VERY unpleasant...I would of AT least expected a discount or something. The breakfast was awful and very... more
This is a student residence that doubles as hotel during summer time. Keep in that in mind when you are in the premises. We arrived on prom night and were warned several times of this. It was ok, no late night noises or crazy behaviors at all. Most of the staff I talked to were Sheridan students. Overall, It is great accommodation for our family going back every summer to see family and friends.
This room looked like a bomb had exploded in it. The holes in the walls had been filled but had not been painted. A broken door at been repaired but also not painted.
You get what you pay for. A basic room. Sheets were clean but had old stains on them. Nice shower with immediate hot water. Front desk were helpful. Complimentary breakfast was nice. Don't expect any frills. Kitchennette was convenient. No iron or hairdryer in room, you have to borrow them from front desk. Great location. Restaurant, grocery and medical center across the street. Easy access to... more
No complain about the place considering the price.
Keeping in mind that it is normally a student residence, it was quite good. The location was great for us, far back from the street, but easily accessible. We were told we could regulate the airconditioning, but even turning the thermostat to 25 did not allow the room to get warmer than about 21 degrees, inspite of the heat outside. The continental breakfast was adequate, although we missed the... more
It was a bit hard to find. Use the 1st entrance after exiting right from the southbound QEW, Sheridan is on the left,, Go around the building and the residence is right there. I was very pleased with my stay. It is an excellent choice for families.
We decided to stay at a less expensive hotel out of the city for our trip to Toronto. It is convenient b/c it is just 30 minutes away from the city. As for the hotel itself, it is what your would expect from the name - college-style dorm rooms. Very plain (white walls, no decor). There are 2 separate bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed, desk, rack w clotheshanger, and TV. There's a kitchen... more
they need to hire professional people it is run by a bunch of amateurs...service leaves a lot to be desired first day...room was not made... next day..room was half made, only one bed next day..only bathroom was made only keycards were very tempermental...leaving me to believe that eitehr their programming machine is no good...or door lock needed a new battery... more
I guess I didn't realize that College Residence actually meant I was staying in the student dorms! Although they tried to make the rooms clean, the smell was awful and required running to the nearest store to buy Lysol! Carpet was disgusting and outside entrance was dirty and nasty. The staff were nice but the whole concept of staying in a student's dorm room and all that goes along with... more
It is good price and values to travel with family. It has a place to cook your own foods and play ground for the children.
Two bedrooms, each with TV, small dining with Full size Fridge, sink and microwave. Hotel room did not appear to be vacummed after last occupant. Breakfast was good, cereal, bagels, toast (great bread) juice and coffee. Free newspaper. Walmart and great Canadian Grocery store up the street, WholeFoods back towards the lake all within a mile or so. Kitchen room with stove is available but no... more
This was the ideal place to stay for business purposes. Lots of room for employees.
We used the hotel as a sleeping and showering area for our work and vacation while in the area and were pleased with the overall facilities. The staff was very helpful. Decent breakfast barwas a little crowded when a high school tour was there. Very quiet at all times. Could use a comfortable chair to sit in. Only had desk/kitchen type chairs. Very clean, but did have problems with toilet drain... more
Breakfast is included, but the size of the breakfast room is ridiculous compared to the number of rooms. Also be aware that there is a bouble bed in each room, not two singles. Overall a convenient place to stay during a summer vacation in the Toronto area. Close to mall shopping and to highways. Will use again if staying in the Yoronto area in the summer.
My boyfriend and I booked a room at the Sheridan not really knowing what to expect for such a low rate compared to hotels in Toronto. We were pleasantly suprised with the results. The hotel room was actually a suite with a kitchen and two bedrooms. The campus that the hotel is located on is quiet, but near a 24-hour grocery store and about a five minute drive to the train station if you want to... more
That uses the room for sleeping and bath room. Beds are seperated on each rooms. Microwave/Full Refrigerator/dining table included Just 15-20 minutes away from Downtown Toronto. Free Parking. WholeFood Market is just a few miles away.
