Great Hotel!

Upon checking in we were upgraded to an ocean front view room which was a beautiful. The location was perfect and allowed us to easily walk from Stanley Park to the Gaslamp district to Downtown Vancouver. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and looked like it had been newly renovated!

Had a great time at the hotel and loved the location close to everything Downtown.

The staff were friendly. My room was clean. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was small with no fan, but it had everything ( soap, shampoo, towels, etc. ). Bottled h2o & coffee was free. Not too bad

Very large room with two small double beds. Beds were comfortable with cleans bedding. Bathroom in good shape with everything clean. Lamps were both dusty. Room was a harbor view, and delivered. Great pool, hot tub and fitness areas. Great view from the harbor on the fourth floor of the pool facility. Would stay again.

Great location close to Canada Place

My wife and I were house hunting and were exhausted by evening. The hotel was a short 10 min walk via the waterfront to Gastown. There we enjoyed a simple sushi dinner at Mo Mo's watching the Jays (exactly what we were in the mood for!!!). Exceptional front desk/bell staff. Hope to stay there again if ever in the area. Within walking distance to the cruise ship terminal which is why we had booked there originally, but the experience was a wonderful one all around.

Hotel near Cruise Terminal

Room was small, no fridge, no water pressure in shower, checked shower head for restriction orifice but was a poor type, maintenance staff did not have a better type. Cable TV had no channel guide, hotel should upgrade the TV package.

Excellent Harborview

Great pace to sit back and relax, Beautiful Harborview, Walking distance to many restaurants and lots of shopping. Very upscale hotel for business or pleasure. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Excellent location

Elevators are very slow, rooms could do with a slight renovation but other than that perfect. Breakfast was good and bed were good too. We could be back to this hotel again.

We had an excellent stay at the Pinnacle Hotel. The hotel is within walking distance of most key sights in Vancouver and a major restaurant district. Our room was comfortable and modern as was the bathroom. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but there are two good breakfast spots very close by. Club Room - nice view of the harbour

The hotel was in a great location. We walked there from our cruise port. The club level room we had with a sea view was nice - but you have to view it between the buildings that are behind the hotel! The food offered to the club level guests in the club was very good. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Awesome hotel, close to everything!!

The staff, concierge and the hotel is phenomenal. Very central location, walked to Stankey Park, Canada Place, Gastown, and shops on Robson Street. Highly recommend it to everyone!!

I was only there for the one night. I was offered a harbour view room, which I took and had an amazing view of the boats, cruise ships, planes. This too provided some great noise as well. The staff was wonderful. I really enjoyed sitting outside and having a cheese plate and glass of wine, just relaxing. Good location

We were upgraded to a club room which included breakfast and evening snacks. We really enjoyed this as the breakfast was really good. This hotel is close to Stanley park and the waterfront. It's also close to Robson st which has tons of shopping and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay.

Best location for cruisers

We were in Vancouver for a conference with Expedia Cruiseshipcenters and needed a hotel in the downtown area. Except for parking which was expensive. Vancouver parking is expensive everywhere, be prepared.

Alaska Cruise

We arrived at hotel 2 hours early, room ready and we upgraded our room to a Harbour view on the 14th floor that included drinks, deserts, alcohol, and breakfast. We really enjoyed our 24 hour stay. Room was spacious beds were comfortable. Hotel is older but location, location, location.

We really liked this hotel and would definitely recommend it to my friends.

The room was nice, but the patio didn't have any furniture. Also, they do not tell you that there is an airport for seaplanes right outside the hotel. That airport was pretty noisy during the day.

Downtown harbor front location

Good location. Easy walk to shops, restaurants and harbor. Room was small but cozy and clean. The room was not ready when we checked in (3:40pm) so the staff offered free parking. That was good.

Upgraded to Presidential Suite

Attended a conference being held at the Pinnacle Hotel. Got lucky to be upgraded to the Presidential suite for my 4 day stay. Everyone from front registration to valet to dining staff were great. Exceptional help from Concierge, Zhor.....in our activity planning. Great location. Excellent conference facility.

Jewel of a hotel

Great hotel, great location

I arrived in Vancouver in the morning and, to my surprise, my room was ready. The room was clean and had a nice view, and the hotel was very well located for multiple activities, which were kindly advised by their great (and patient) concierge Zhor. Not much else to add, I had a great time in Vancouver and the hotel was one of the reasons for that.

Good place to stay

We stayed in this hotel for two nights as we tooled around Vancouver and it's many things to do.
The room was nice, clean comfortable, a little noisy at night and even though it was non-smoking you could smell smoke coming from other rooms.

Dissapointing - Too few features for too many

We spent 4 nights here during May and found that the rooms were more basic than most of the 2 & 3-star hotels that we stayed at during our trip. No fridge, no mini-bar, no free WIFI, no retractable clothes line, no kettle... these rooms are really only suited for a one-night stay while passing through. WIFI and parking costs... more

While I have no complaints re the facilities and the service provided for the $$$ paid I was expecting a bit more in the room and at least a complimentary coffee in the morning. View of the bay was great, but as someone coming in from the east, the 10pm fireworks, were cutting into my bed time.

I ran across this idiotic practice recently in San Diego at the Marriott Del Mar and vowed never to stay at a Marriott again.
Unfortunately, I'm brand unconscious and didn't realize Renaissance was a Marriott "brand" and had the same idiotic policy.
Worse still the weasels advertise "free internet" which they have in the lobby, but not in the rooms.... more

Lobby and Restaurant the most impressive part

Stayed one night and got a really good deal so cant complain but room was a little disappointing after seeing how lovely the restaurant and lobby was that welcomed you. Location was ok close enough to all the action, all in all was an good day just nothing to rave about :)

Very satisfied

Good location close to restaurants, sea walk, sky train,
Clean rooms, attentive concierge and staff, generous size rooms.
Stayed here for one week.
Fee for internet connection in room was waived. Did not have a car so did not have to pay for parking, which is pricy. Check often for rates to get a super saver one as we did.

Great views, wonderful location, world-class staff

Wonderful location just steps from the harbor, few blocks from the subway and near anywhere you want to be in downtown Vancouver. The views are breathtaking and perhaps most lasting, each one of the staff makes sure you have a pleasant stay.

Good location, basic amenities

The good: Nice location in Downtown Vancouver, plenty of hotel parking space for about $22 per night, rooms are clean and quiet, well-appointed pool, gym and a fitness facility.
The not so good: No fridge or minibar in rooms, rundown property, waiting for elevators takes ages!

Nice hotel but not exceptional

Stayed for two weekend nights, with a streetside view. As others have posted, the desireable view is on the harbourside, with a higher cost. We got our stay through Priceline, so we were relegated to one fo the presumably cheaper rooms.

Stayed here on my last business trip to Vancouver (9 nights). The room was spacious and clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the location is great. Harbor views, plenty of restaurants and local shopping.

OK, not great

We enjoyed our stay, but found the quality of support from the staff to be mixed. My wife had something shipped there and they sent it back to FedEx and then weren't helpful later on in getting it for her when it was eventually sent back. Otherwise, they were pleasant and the small room was fine.

Standard business hotel service

My friend and I booked this place blindly on hotwire the day before our arrival. The price was right, the location near Stanley Park and train was just what we wanted. It is in the middle of the downtown business district so seemed mostly geared towards business travelers but was more than sufficient for us as well.

Absolutely amazing! Customer service was outstanding! The employees were always gracious, curtious and helpful. I have stayed in many different hotels from the Pan Pacific to the Fairmont and hands down this was the best in customer service.

Stayed for one night and had a great experiance. Every staff member I spoke to was extremely helpfully and polite.
Although I didn't have a waterfront view, the room was clean, comfortable and up to date.
The only negative that I have, is the wireless internet was very slow. Besides that, a nice hotel, for a fair price.

Nice hotel but no free wifi

This was a nice hotel but was let down by having no free wifi in the rooms. We were on a holiday and having to go up and down to the lobby to get online was a real pain. The location was great and the staff were good. I would stay here again if the wifi issues was sorted out.

Great Hotel

We just stayed here for 1 night while watching a hockey game in Vancouver. The hotel is very clean and the service is great. The location can't be beat! And we had the best food and service in the restaurant !

Bell boys need to improve

The hotel itself is good. The rooms are a little dated. Was staying. club floor level. The front desk was very warm and welcoming. I had a business trip to attend in Seattle, so I drove to Vancouver for the weekend. Little did i know that it would take almost 5 hours due to freeway construction, but we finally arrived. The hotel was clean, comfortable and very spacious. It was located in a great neighborhood where we walked to many great restaurants.

Went to Vancouver for a conference, booked hotel myself, not the conference rate, better rate through Skoosh.com. Great location, near Stanley park, lots of restaurants and near all the great neighborhoods. Hotel was helpful with finding dinner reservations and things to do. Hotel staff were friendly. I am planning on returning to this hotel in the summer. All my expectations were met.

Noisy corridors. The noise of doors opening and closing travelled through the room. We had two unwarranted intrusions by housekeeping.

A nice place to stay in Vancouver

We were given a room with partial view of the bay. There was construction across from our room window, but it wasn't very disruptive. Room was spacious and very modern. Area around the hotel is beautiful and clean... closed to everything, Stanley Park, Robson street, SeaBus, Revolving Restaurant, Gas Town. Would recommend for anyone visiting Vancouver.

great location-the Vancouver Harbourside

we loved being able to walk everywhere from the hotel. We explored every inch of the city. Stayed one week...the lobby was being renovated but everyone very helpful etc. Room was good. We really liked the Renaissanc.

It met all of our expectations.

I would recommend this hotel, however rooms and pool areas are getting quite dated (the sauna is a nice touch though). The gym is better than most hotels however with several machines and even free weights! Might be tough for this hotel to survive given all the much newer hotels that are popping up in the same area. Maybe a major renovation is on the way??

Post cruise stay

We stayed at this hotel after our cruise. We got there early and were able to check in right away. Great location! We walked to Stanley Park and took the Skytrain to Chinatown and Gastown. The only complaint we have is that the a/c was loud and not good for light sleepers.

Great experience here. Staff was very helpful, amenities were great, the hotel was beautiful. Only drawback is the Internet system sucks. Kept losing the network in the lobby which is the only place you can get it for free; want to do it on your room? Pay a ridiculous price. They need to improve that aspect.

Internet connections primitive

The room was small compared with those at other Renaissance hotels we've stayed in. No views, even from the Concierge lounge, unless you enjoy looking at buildings. The wireless connection was the worst aspect. Signal was weak, even in the lounge. Even wired connection was slow. With either, you must log in every 15 minutes or so. A big disappointment since I needed Internet connection.

I would totally give this hotel four stars if it wasn't for the archaic wireless system in place. Who makes guests pay for wireless these days? Not only do you have to pay for it, only one device can be connected at a time, which is a major pain in the a@!e if you have a laptop, tablet and smartphone. We thoroughly enjoyed the view this room had of the harbor. We could see sea planes landing and taking off. Room was great with the exception of the early wake up alarm from the electricity going out. Besides being double charged for valet parking, once for the event ticket and once for the overnight valet, the car came back with damages. Nice hotel with a great price compared to other Marriott hotels in the Vancouver area. The gym is well maintained and the pool area is very clean. The rooms have Wi-Fi so it works well with my Wi-Fi only Surface Tablet. The rooms are nicely laid out and comfortable. There are lots of places to eat and shop nearby.

The staff here is extremely helpful and friendly. I also loved the view of the water from my room and how close the hotel was to the convention center.

We booked the room last minute through Priceline and it was $110 plus tax and an extra $35 for overnight valet. Which sucked since our car was oversized... we had to park down the street at the Pacific Rim.

Our stay began July 30, 2011. Beautiful room, excellent view of the harbor. Extra charge for breakfast every morning. All in all nice hotel. Clean, quiet, spacious room. Will stay again.

The best hotel ever. The restaurant had fabulous food and ate there 4 out of 5 meals.

It was good, clean, and friendly. The location is good, the parking ($29 a night) is ridiculously expensive and didn't use the wifi or internet because its also too expensive. Be aware that the parking is not free. Self park is one block away and it cost plenty. You have to tax on top of the charges.

Hotel staff was excellent. Allowed us to have early check in. Rooms were very nice. My only negative comment is about the wait for food after it was ordered in the restaurant (one hour). Loved the decor. They moved us to a room with a great view. The beds were heavenly and the service super. We had an outstanding dinner in their restaurant.

My family loved this hotel stay. The front desk greeted us courteously and gave us vouchers for the delicious buffet b'fast (which was part of our rate on Orbitz). The bedding is heavenly. Reasonable price, excelente location

Walkings around the hotel are great, very close to downtown, nice restaurants and stores.It needs some new equipment or maintenance in the fitness center. We liked a lot not be limited to enjoy the jacuzzi and swimming pool after 10pm.

This is a great location close to Canada Place. We were also able to walk around Stanley Park. If I go back, I would rent a bike (there are several rentals close by)and ride around the park for a few hours. I got lucky in getting this place on an auction site for at a fraction of the cost. I'm sure it was because the hotel is going through some remodeling until May and they were willing to take almost any price to get people in.

Great Value for Price

My wife and I regularly stay in the Coal Harbour area of Downtown Vancouver when we come to check on our investment properties. The Renaissance offers a pretty good value for the money, especially considering other prices in this area. On our last stay, they were undergoing renovations, however the staff was extremely helpful (as usual) and made sure to overcome any construction inconveniences.

The room is clean and comfortable. The location is very good. However, there is a recent contruction over there blocking the view of habour, if the guest stays at lower floors.

Renaissance Review

The hotel was top notch with those European style comforters and top rate mattress. It's located right in the downtown core with minutes to the bike trails, Cruise ship departures, Stanley Park, shopping etc. They stored our bikes and let us "ride-in, ride-out" for the most part. We tried to save money on a cheaper hotel and it was a disaster.

The hotel staff is very professional. They appreciate your business and treat you as a valued client. Wonderful Experience

Overall I was very happy with my stay at the Vancouver Renaissance. I was a bit concerned because the prices seemed a bit on the high side even for Vancouver, but after my stay, I think the great service from the staff and the excellent location made up for the higher prices.

Friendly hotel service in Canada

This hotel is situated right on the harbor and has spectacular views. The staff was quick to respond to all inquiries. Access to tons of shopping and activities were right at hand.
