+.5 for service
The Red Brick Cafe is tucked away in a corner behind St. Georges Square in Downtown Guelph. My friend from Guelph recommended this place for a coffee sit-down, so I decided to go here on a Friday night.
The inside of the cafe had quite a European feel. The architecture looks quite nice from the outside; fits right in with the historic feel of Downtown Guelph. The servers were...

First time in and the coffee I was served was lukewarm. I requested a replacement and it was handled in a timely and pleasant manner. Multigrain bagel was fresh and tasty. One thing I'm a stickler for is bathroom cleanliness and I was disappointed here particularly given that it was around 10 am when I visited. Note parking can be... more
This was my first time here and I loved it!
I met with an old friend and we had a great time. The atmosphere is so nice, there are two rooms so you can go around to the back room for more space.
The coffee is amazing! I had a chocolate coffee it was great!
Fast and friendly and a...

I've been here a few times after dinner for a coffee and a brownie (the score ones are super tasty) and its got a great atmosphere. There are comfy chairs in the back that I didn't learn about until after a couple visits but they are nice to sit in and sip a warm coffee on a cold night. They... more
Great atmosphere and environment for thinking. This is a european style cafe, and it is a nice touch in Guelph. This place has built a cult following in town.
EDIT: The only reason Im giving it 4/5 is because the coffee could be better. The standard dark roast tastes a bit too nutty for me, but thats just me. Planet bean's roasts are more in line with my tastes.
The foods are a bit pricey, but...

Located a few steps away from the Guelph mall on Quebec Street, the Red Brick Cafe is (as its name mentions) in an old red brick building. Nice paintings from various local artists are hanging on the walls and the vintage style of the lay out offers a nice and relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a good espresso or a pastry.
I used to visit The Red Brick quite frequently as I loved their Blue Dog coffee and its on my way downtown. However I have recently given up on this place forever. The last few times I went the coffee tasted terrible...I mean super terrible! Weak as sin and no flavour. I gave them 3 more tries thinking one of... more
Love the Red Brick. Always comfortable and their staff is great. Perfect little place to grab a tea and catch up with friends, read a book, or squeeze in some studying. Their homemade ice tea is also pretty delicious and the Red Brick Cookies are a must try.
Fabulous coffee choices! Rich desserts! A bit disappointed with my grilled cheese. With the quality of everything else, I was surprised that they used processed cheddar! When I mentioned this the waitress was surprised herself and pulled it out of the fridge to confirm. She had thought it was cheddar, but it looked and tasted more like Velveta. Perhaps they've... more
For a few years, the Red Brick Cafe had been our favourite place to go. Great old building, interesting artwork, friendly staff. Lately though we've seen a considerable lapse in service on a number of occasions. It's as if the guys working there have forgotten that they're there for the customers. Loud music (turned up so they can hear it... more
Red Brick has a nice ambiance and nice rotating artwork selections on its walls.
It offers decent beverages that can be enjoyed both inside and out.
It's food choices are extremely limited and premade -- skip the food.
I love this place. Friendly staff, fantastic hot chocolates (I don't drink much coffee) and a great building to sit and enjoy if you have time. They are a bit expensive, but not at all when compared to other "luxury" locations like Starbucks. Overall fabulous!
food is fair and pre made. The place is always busy but for some reason not the friendliest of environments.
Always good, choice of sandwiches, even music sometimes. Great place to open up the laptop and noodle away.
Very nice place, however, I was disappointed with the taste of the coffee. Especially after I asked to get the strongest European style coffee, and I get cup of coffee tasting like small coffee from Starbucks with half the cup of water.
Red Brick Cafe is an iconic landmark in Guelph. It is tucked away in a small alley right in the middle of downtown Guelph.
The quality of the coffee rivals the best cafes in Toronto. They are perfectionists with their technique and ingredients. I love the respect and passion they show for the process and details. I recently stumbled across their instructional videos online, which tells you a...

dizzy staff over priced not at all clean would not recommend this place to anyone. Took us threeshots to get two lattes a regular coffee and some cake
Great to quietly sit and read or work. Changing art work is great. Atmosphere is great, the outdoor patio is perfect.
We are regular customers for buying coffee beans to grind up at home. We enjoyed a delicious brownie and coffee while we waited for the beans to be measured in the back room. When we got home my husband handed me the bag, which felt really light. So I checked with my kitchen scale, calibrated with a pound of butter... more
Its a good place to get coffee, but their food is sub-par except for their soup
As one of only a couple of coffee shops that is open beyond 9-5 in downtown Guelph, and as the largest of all of them, Red Brick Cafe has the market pretty much locked up. The downtown location offers plenty of space, and most of that gets occupied by the laptop crowd - parking themselves at tables for hours at... more
Ok.. so I do not drink coffee but their hot chocolate is great and my partner loves their different lattes. They have great treats.
Great place to sit and surf, gab about whatever with friends etc...
This ain't Tim Horton's! So price wise its about the same as Williams Coffee Pub.
FREE WiFi lots of 'Chill', super nice staff ;) - Downtown Guelph.
Try the date squares, getting the last one is the best!!!

I came here with the boy for a quick bite to eat. Make no bones about it - with good lighting & a surprisingly tasteful indie music selection playing, this is totally a cafe. Don't let that fool you into thinking their food isn't tasty, though. On the daily menu (which was relatively small, but tasteful) was a grilled chicken panini with bacon and cheese, and even though it sounded super heavy... more
