When we arrived at the hotel , we found a lot of noise, like that of coming from a tractor. We asked at the front desk where our room was located and sure enough right above the noise maker. We requested a new room but a front desk person said it was just the dryers making noise and that it would be over at 5pm. So we should stay at that room. Then it was said we could move further down the... more
This hotel just few minutes away off downtown. Although the facilities are basic, the room was tidy up every day. The price was low with provision of free parking and wifi. If you have a car and have activities in downtown, this hotel is a good choice.
Easy to find and close to everything if you have a vehicle
Enjoyed our stay; parking at night is a concern, as seems to be a shortage of stalls ( didn't use the underground parking at all ).
Looks like an older building that has been refurbished. Beautiful lobby, nice staff, reasonably priced and clean room. Very adequate stay.
Did choose the Ramada because their elevator. Was not allowed to climb stars after surgery and what, the elevator broke down. No service until next day. Their was not one yellow page phone book available in the entire house
We drove to Victoria to spend two days and it was an easy drive. Desk staff was very helpful and recommended a really good restaurant close by. Restaurant attached was great for breakfast. Ate there both mornings.
From stepping in to the Main Entrance to sleeping in the comfortable king size bed, we enjoyed our stay. The Hotel appeared well kept and the Employee's were very pleasant.
Would stay again. Location was good. Stayed with 2 small dogs and they were treated well
Older hotel but could stand more upgrading, its very busy on Fridays and Saturdays as the comedy club is popular.
Had a great 5 night stay. Room was clean, staff were excellent.
Very decent hotel on Gorge Road, close to downtown, extremely affordable, clean, polite staff, pool.
Brought our kids here for a weekend in Victoria. Good location only 5 mins from downtown. Hotel was clean and neat. Had a great breakfast cafe downstairs that catered well to kids. Heated pool outside was okay but didn't really use it as it was late in September. Would stay again for a similar deal... more
one of the rooms had a smoker in it prior to use The second room had no refrigerator and we had to share the ice room was VERY poorly marked plus there was only paper cups to drink from, and only two per room The wash room/shower was very old and dated.
The staff was very helpful and the restaurant was acceptable
We were very satisfied with the location . The Inn is a bit dated but is clean and comfortable. The front desk staff are outstanding. They are courteous, friendly and very accommodating . .They are well informed about the area . One could not ask for better treatment. I would not hesitate to stay there anytime I am in Victoria.
Was attending a conference with a co-worker. Room we were assigned had a very unpleasant musty odor. Room was on the ground floor so we were unable to leave a window open. Inquired at front desk about changing and because hotel was full, was only able to move to a room with one queen bed. Could not stay in original room so we ended up sharing a bed. Clerk did offer to change us the next day if... more
There were no oops during our one night stay. Staff really seemed to enjoy dealing with the public and had an excellent sense of humour. We really felt welcome and attended to. Yes that's how we spell humour in Canada, so humour me.
Nettes Zimmer mit Balkon zum Pool. Der Pool war sehr groß und angenehm beheizt. Freundliches Personal. Gute Lage.
Front desk night girl and morning shift girl were great, friendly, and efficient.
Cheaper rooms but clean enough. Stayed with our baby who is still crawling on the floor and had no problem with him roaming around. Heated pool was great for the kids. Attached restaurant had amazing service and food. Would definitely stay again.
Un petit peu trop éloigné du centre-ville pour y accéder à pied
we bring along with our pet and we need to walk around the surrounding and it is easy to find the lawn
Stayed there for four nights. We picked this hotel because of the location and price. It turned out to be an excellent choice. Clean room and friendly staff in a relatively modern facility. Ideal location for exploring downtown Victoria.
spent 1 night and all was okay Pool was nice close to convenience store
Satisfactory- Staff were pleasant- that's all I have to say at this point!!
The hotel is 45 minutes nice walking from downtown Victoria. There is a bus connection too.
Definitely is not the best Ramada I've stayed at. This particular Ramada is old and needs to be renovated as everything looks, feels and smells old. Good rates at a close to downtown location, but that's about it. If all you want is a decent bed to sleep for the night, then this hotel will do.
The front desk people were helpful and friendly. We did not know the area at all and they showed us everywhere to go and how to get there. If I go back to Victoria I will for sure stat in the same hotel
We were a little taken back by the outisde appearence but ended up being pleasantly surprised. The room was clean but a little on the small side but was clean & we were very comfy and enjoyed our stay. Originally we were not supposed to have a balacony but the very nice front desk clerk changed our room for us. The staff and outisde heated pool were awesome!
The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful when we arrived and upon leaving. The room was clean and quiet. The second night some guests were booked in next room to us and we could hear them talking quite clearly, but by 11 pm all was quiet. Had some problems trying to access WiFi on cell phone, but laptop was no problem. All in all, it was a decent hotel, comfortable stay, no problems.
Our room was very quiet and comfortable. Although not within walking distance of downtown, it was a short drive away. We didn't try the restaurant on site.
A nice hotel, a little off the beaten track. Not in Downtown Victoria, it was a little hard to find. The signage for driveway a little awkward, and the parking lot's entrance and exit is confusing. Outside grounds could use a rake, sweep and some trash removal. Hallways a little dated and could use some refreshing. Did not eat on property. Outdoor pool was nice, rooms were clean and well laid... more
Price was good, amenities were decent, rooms were clean. Small balcony was nice to drink a quiet coffee on. We went to Victoria for a house hunting trip, as well as do a little sight seeing, and booked this hotel purely on price. The FOOD, however, was absolutely fantastic!! We ate at the restaurant every morning of our stay - I believe it's... more
Excellent restaurant on site. Friendly, helpful staff. Location central to Victoria. Reasonable price.
I was unable to sleep due to noise from partiers below me. I finally called at 12:30 to the front desk and nothing changed. I then got dressed and went to the front desk for earplugs so that i could try and get some sleep...and they didn't have any. The lady at the desk was very nice and said that she would tell the manager about the problems i encountered. In the morning there was no apology... more
First of all, the hotel staff of this location are not friendly at all. They did not greet guests, did not have 'friendly' guest service atmosphere. We stayed at this hotel for 3 days but not even once we got greeted or asked how our stay was going. Bathroom was dirty, the bathtub did not drain... so we had to have shower with 3inches of water at our feet every time. The toilet was discolored... more
Was a clean quiet place to stay while having medical procedures attended to.
We got a room with a portable air conditioner which was not installed well. The room was small and too warm that we had to tell the reception desk around 8 pm. They said the maintenance guy was already left for the day and gave us a small table fan. We did not have a good night sleep at all. In the morning when we checked out, I complained about that and the staff woman did not say anything.... more
Sound proofing could be a little better. We could hear children playing in the hallway and someone next to us thumping in the bathroom. However, we were not disturbed during the night and our stay was quite pleasant.
We had to switch rooms three time. First room smelled of smoke even though we requested a non smoking room. Second room had hair all over the bed and hair left on the bathroom sink. The room was also in need of dusting.
We would not recommend this hotel. There was dried up shredded cheese in ice bucket and coffee pot was not cleaned from previous people. There was a restaurant in this hotel. I ordered an Italian dish and when I asked for parmesan cheese was told I'd have to pay for that because they used expensive cheese. I have NEVER heard... more
We stayed at Ramada Victoria for 5 days 4 nights. The room was decent, right size for a family of 3. The room was clean and they provided us with fresh towels daily. Parking was never a problem. It was also in the perfect location, only 5 min away from downtown Victoria.

The hotel meets the basic needs of a place to sleep. The gym is a joke. The only plus about the room is the flat screen tv. The wifi was spotty, but it could've been my location. The greek restatraunt had the best breakfast ever. I would do it again!
My parents and I had a horrible experience with this hotel during our 9 day stay. Stayed here for 2 days in July 2014 for business. Central to the Canadian Forces Base and to downtown Victoria (10 to 15 mins). Room was clean and the hotel was quiet for the most part. This hotel is a great choice of stay as is very close to downtown Victoria and is reasonable. We paid $130/night during the high season (mid Aug 2014). The outdoor heated swimming pool was a delight. Our room was facing the back of the hotel which was very pleasant as it was quiet with the city and pool view. I absolutely recommend this hotel.
Everything you would want in an accommodation. Excellent value.
Overall good. There was one day the housekeeping was not up to par, the bed sheets were not tucked in, just spread over the pillows and the bathroom floor not vacuumed. This is peak season so the price was reasonable. Outdoor pool was attractive but too busy in the evenings.
It was an okay stay. A little far from city center if you didn't have a car. The sofa was really uncomfortable to sit on, like you are not allowed to relax or something. Also, the I think a little pricey for the room itself. But overall enjoyed my stay.
A decent hotel. However, it could use a little tlc.
It was a neat and clean hotel. Its a nice area to stay in close to downtown Victoria at affordable cost and far from downtown traffic and tourist volumes. The only drawback is that its next to the hospital but during our stay for 2 nights we did not hear any noise or hospital traffic. We had a good experience.
Stayed for 4 nights at the Ramada on the Gorge. Room was clean and bed made everyday. Had a small fridge and microwave which I thought was very practical. The pool was great, my daughter was in every night! Staff was polite and friendly. The location was great, easy and quick drive downtown and back onto HWY.
Clean, convenient, central location fairly close to downtown Victoria with frequent bus line to downtown; free parking. Enjoyed my stay
My husband and I were in Victoria for a week to spend time with our 5 year old great granddaughter. I booked this hotel for convenience to where they live and to downtown. Just needed a hotel for one night after spending the afternoon at Butchard's garden. It is an older hotel but somewhat renovated. It has everything you need, coffee maker, refrigerator and the beds were comfortable and it looked clean. The reception was friendly and helpful with direction, not far to drive to downtown Victoria.
I stayed at the Ramada Victoria for one night during a short sightseeing visit. I was on my own and had two queensize beds. Terrible service, the front desk clerk gave me the attitude. Hot water ran out, no heating in the room. Surprisingly small room for a family. No breakfast. Location is good and comfortable. Lots of parking spaces
I personally don't care if a place is old or new - as long as it is clean. This was not!!! The towels had sat so long they were yellowed. There was hair stuck on the door. The room had not been dusted - I had to dust the bedside table myself. There were stains on both chairs.
Stayed over the weekend. 10 min drive from downtwon Victoria. Beds are super comfy!!! Slept really well. If you want to experience Victoria, it can be kind of expensive. Made our trip to Victoria to see friends, and stayed at this Ramada. It was comfortable. Nothing great or exciting but clean. staff were very helpful. Its a very basic and very average hotel, need upgradation both interior and exterior. Bathrooms are really small. Beds are small too and not comfortable at all. Good value for the money. The room was clean and the beds ok. One item re: room arrangement–the curtain covers the air conditioner, so that you have to lift the curtain to one side if you want to use the A/C
Good value because of corporate rate paid.

Furnishings and decor is dated. Bed is surprisingly comfortable. Need better sound proofing - can hear others in hallway and adjoining room.
It is a 3 star hotel but the room was decent, beds were great and so were the pillows. I have a bad neck and rarely can use hotel pillows, but these were comfortable and I slept well. We have stayed in this Hotel a few times as they are pet friendly and we have always enjoyed our stay here. The room was a double queen and very comfortable and even though on the first floor it was quiet. The TV was a flat screen so easy to see from both beds and the Wi-Fi connection was a... more

This hotel served us very well, located near where we needed to be, just outside of downtown. Excellent very helpful staff, pretty quiet, a great deal. Not fancy just what we wanted at a reasonable price.
I found the room to be very comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The price was excellent. In 2 weeks I have a trip planned in Victoria and will be staying there again.
It was fairly clean but there was an odour to the linens, kind of like a musty, old smell.. not sure what that was.. the service was excellent, very nice people at the reception desk..
The Ramada is in a great location, just a short drive to downtown Victoria. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the response time to fix a couple of small problems was very fast. We were very satisfied.
We visited in early June when the restaurant was closed for refurbishment, hopefully it is now open therefore will not comment on the room that was used for breakfasts, nor their quality. Quick check in/out and our room was quiet, comfortable and had the little extras such as coffee machine, toiletries and comfortable pillows.... more
“i had to stay at this hotel for one night whilst in Victoria and i was happy this place was conveniently located in town. parking was free, which is always a plus. the hotel lobby looks like it needs a renovation, however the rooms exceed expectations. they are clean and well kept, the bed comfortable and overall, a good overnight experience. i would most definitely recommend this hotel.”
this place is really good value, and the bed is so comfortable.
Parking was great. You can park anywhere, plenty of spaces and seemed secure. Check in was quick and an elevator to my room. There was free internet, coffee machine and fridge. My bed was extremely comfortable and the room was quiet. There were a few scuff marks and general wear, but this was not a 5 star so expected it. The room was extremely clean, quiet and comfortable and these are the main... more
“Room was nice. No complaints. Only complaint is they put a $150 hold on my debit card for a one night stay. The hold is still blocking my account 4 days after the stay. Don't know when it will be released.”
Great location. Close to everything.Friendly staff including housekeeping. Excellent staff re duties. Overall very clean and neat and comfortable. Restaurant food nothing to write home about. Restaurant staff friendly and restaurant clean.Thvent/fan in both the bathroom and halway right outside our room was obnoxious and loud. But I would go there again. Thanks for your help.
“Excellence & very friendly staff. Good location. They put us in a room with no view. The towers were dirty. Cleanliness is more important to me, so I gave this hotel a 4-star.”
“The hotel was a good deal as we only needed a safe and clean place to crash after a long day of sightseeing. The room was clean although the decor and furniture left something to be desired, but for $82 a night for 2 queen beds, we are pretty happy. The pool was clean, the staff polite but not overly attentive.
”
“I personally don't think this hotel is worth 3.5 stars... 2.5 star is my thought. The room we stayed for the first night didn't have an air-con and we barely slept that night”
Spent most of the time at downtown main attractions and Harbor area.
“We stayed in the hotel only for a sleep and even though it was difficult to stay until the morning.”
I had a meeting and I went there sick. The room was very cold no heating. Could not sleep because of the cold room and the only solution is to use extra blankt... more
great hotel with some good staff. definitely worth the savings to stay here as opposed to downtown
A quick business stop over on my way up island. The staff were very pleasant and the room clean and quiet.
Hotel was everything I needed. Facilities were as promised. Service from staff was good.
Hotel was clean and remodeled. For the given price the place was really worth. Its drivable to main Victoria downtown. I will recommend this place if you have a car to drive to downtown.
If you have a car, this is a convenient location to easily reach the downtown areas. You will find a clearn room and friendly staff.
Nice and quiet, perfect for a weekend in Victoria, close to all amenities.
“Great bang for your buck. You need a vehicle to get from the hotel to downtown though, but it's a very quick and easy drive to get there. Helpful staff and a clean room!”
Was a great stay for the price. The rooms were lovely and very clean. A good location for exploring Victoria. Close enough to do everything but far enough away to get some peace and quiet.
Quite a distance from dowtown Victoria but not an issue if you have a car. No free breakfast, and no AC in bedroom. Nice outdoor pool. Staff was competent, but overly nice!
This wonderful hotel is most conveniently located a couple of blocks from the Galloping Goose bike trail. My wife and I biked here from Anacortes, Washington, utilizing the San Juan Ferry system to Sydney. We stayed two nights and biked all around and through Victoria, enjoying the sights, attractions, and restaurants of the area. Each evening we relaxed in the 85 degree pool and then... more
It was a little loud between the people in the halls in the early hours of the morning, the bar and liquor store out front seem to be quite the hangout for the teens, and the walls are thin.
The staff was very welcoming, helpful and friendly.
The place is centrally located near Downtown, and yet on a not so busy road so that you don't hear a lot of noise. The staff is friendly and the room is in good condition. The reason I picked this hotel rather than other highly recommended ones is the double queen bed setting. Most hotels in Victoria, including the 4 star ones, normally offer two double beds only. The price is very... more
“This hotel is not in a good location, When we drove into the parking lot it was filled with kids because there is a liquor store attached to the hotel.....the parking underground had a gate when you enter it from the main road...but, when you left the lot there was not gate so anyone could go down in there, so don't leave anything in your cars.”
This hotel was very well presented. The room was very clean and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. A gentleman, who I believe he was one of the managers, assisted me and my wife move rooms to one that was directly across from the elevator after we returned from the hospital where she had surgery on one of her knees. And the housekeepers were excellent at making sure we had... more
Both of our previous stays at this hotel were during renovations and we were located on the second floor in a much larger room. This time we were assigned to room number 134 next to the first floor office, storage areas, and barber shop which overlooked the main entrance parking lot. Exhaust fumes from the cars immediately outside of our window were mixed with the stares of people looking... more
“I got a broken AC in my room and the hotel was completely booked.”
“Hotel is not too bad. Location is not great and hotel condition is not 5 star, thus a 2 star hotel.”
“Hotel was a good value for price. Good location for downtown access and easy access to highway. Close to Galloping Goose trail for walking or biking. Housekeeping was not the best. House keeper did state they were understaffed at time. Hotel restaurant was pricey for family place, but others were close by.”
“Dirty, not friendly, poor management and reception is not organized.”
“This hotel is not close to the inner harbor or downtown. If you do not have a vehicle I would not stay here. It is not close to anything but the bus line.”
The room was clean and comfortable. The refrigerator proved to be quite useful. Staff was friendly and settled the one issue that came up. The food at the dining room and pub was tasty.
“It met my needs and expectations. It was even a little better than what I expected.”
The staff was extremely friendly. Our stay went smoothly. Our pet was welcomed and enjoyed his stay as well. I liked the bathroom location separate from the vanity. The garage parking was untidy. In addition we witnessed many employees smoking in the garage. We were pleased to find a hotel at such short notice but would have preferred a hotel within walking from the tourist activities and... more
“The hotel was in the middle of re-staffing and under new management, so, the restaurant was just starting to accommodate guests. It had plenty of parking with an underground parking area as well. It had an excellent pub / sport's bar with many interactive (WiFi) sports games. The food at the pub was good, offering a variety of foods. The room was very comfortable. The view from the exercise... more
“This Ramada is located right next to the hospital on route 1A. It is about 15 minutes from Downtown and convenient if you have your own transportation. Plenty of parking. The room was very nice-two queen beds, a large TV with lots of channels and a very nice bathroom. They have a restaurant and a pub (with good pub grub).”
rooms and all hotel areas were clean and tidy. Good value for the $'s It met my expectations. the pool area was a little lacking but it was late March early April....a bit early maybe.
“The service was horrible. No hot water in the morning and burnt out hair dryer. When I brought my concerns to the front desk staff, he was rude. I was staying only one night so I wasnt asking for any reimbursement or anything, but maybe an apology, but all I received was excuses. Its not the entire hotel having this problem but just a few rooms. The gentlemen behind me had the same problem,... more
“The hotel was small but clean. The location is a little bit far from Downtown Victoria. You can use bus number 11 to get to hotel. The area was safe. The hotel staffs are friendly. We enjoy our stay. If the travelers don't mind to catch a bus then I think this is a good choice. Clean, comfortable and inexpensive.”
“Overall it was good for the price and location. But the room I stayed in didn't have any air-conditioning so we had to leave the window open, but we could hear all the night traffic and fire trucks and police cars. So for what it was worth maybe cheaper.”
“I really enjoyed this hotel. The staff was friendly and I meet some nice folks in the lobby. While out of the main area of town the buses stops in front of the hotel frequently. For convenience I purchased a bus pass and found that I saw much more of Victoria than I would have if I were downtown. The staff was great with suggestions and directions.”
“Reasonably priced, clean, and right on a transit line. Outside of the smell of cigarettes, it was ok.”
“The hotel was very clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable.”
Although rooms were clean and quiet, the exercise room was minimal and there were few amenities.
“Friendly staff, quiet location, was a Days Inn until May 2007 and is being painted in July 2007. In the first room we were given we and the staff both could not get the A/C to work and we found a pair of ladies shoes and receipts from May in the first room (our stay was in July). Hotel staff was apologetic and gave us another room without problems.”
“Hotel is OK, clean and relatively quiet. Located outside the City Center but not too far. Bar on the premises brings rowdy crowds at times. It was quiet we were there.”
“It was run-down (damaged ceiling, peeling wallpaper, worn out mattress) and depressing to stay there. It was more expensive than staying at a very nice 3 star hotel in Vancouver. ”
“If you are planning to enjoy the downtown historic area, this is not the hotel to stay in. On the very outskirts of the City, you need to take a bus, unless you have a car. Also there is no air conditioning, so if it is summer, this hotel is not a good choice.”
“I would say if you wanted just a room and did not care how clean the place was then this is the place for you. If want clean comfortable rooms then you need to check out another hotel.”
“We enjoyed our stay here. It was friendly, clean and roomy. We didn't get to use the very nice pool because of the weather, however we did picnic at the pool side under an umbrella.”
“This hotel is not in a great location. We had to drive to get to downtown. Not a particularly great place.”
“I had booked 2 rooms. The beds were very hard in both. Other than that, the hotel was fine. A little far away from downtown, though. Must have a car, here.”
“Okay hotel. They call themselves 3.5 star. 2 is about right. Lot's of on site amenities, pub/restaurant, breakfast room, beer and wine store, pool, wireless Internet. 5 minute drive to downtown (parking downtown is a bit of a pain although not terribly expensive compared to most cities). 2 kilometer walk to inner harbor is doable. Rooms were clean and I definitely like the fitted sheets on the... more
“The hotel is dated and wearing down. Work needs to be done, particularly in hallways. If you had a car you were all right. Without a car you might be in trouble. No restaurants of any worth were within walking distance of the hotel.”
“I was only there one night, but I would give high marks to this hotel for its service and cleanliness. Once again, I found the location to be a little off putting since once I am in a hotel I do not want to be dependent on the car for exploring around. ”
“Hot showers and comfortable beds. A little worn but clean. Some noise from group guests but not too bad.”
“Hotel was standard sort of motor inn, most surfaces sticky, dated interior, not in downtown Victoria, conference room event noise persisted well into the night. ”
“Days Inn Gorge Rd is NOT a downtown motel. It has no restaurant facilities for guests. I do not believe this hotel should be listed as Victoria downtown location. It is a $12 cab ride to the city center (bus station, dock, etc).”
“We had a pleasant stay but was a little uncomfortable for lack of air conditioning, because of humidity. I had to request a second table fan from the front desk. Apart from this the overall experience was very good. I would suggest that if air-conditioner is not in the rooms it should be specifically mentioned since the expectation is that every room would have an air-conditioner similar to... more
“The hotel itself is ok, but it's not really downtown. You have to take a bus and it's about a 30 minute wait each way. It's not convenient for changing clothes for dinner or going to tea at the Empress! It should not be included with the downtown hotels as that's very misleading.”
“This hotel is totally ghetto from the outside. There is a liquor store attached!! to it. Inside, it is alright but I expect hotels to have air conditioning. All they had was oscillating fans. It is a short drive from downtown. You need a car to get to any attractions.”
“The Days Inn Victoria Waterway was horribly disappointing. The facilities were dilapidated and the staff was undertrained and discourteous. Our room was directly over "Fat Tuesdays", a neighborhood bar with karaoke happy hour starting at 4:00 pm and ending at 7:00. The music came straight through the floor and made for an unpleasant 3 hours. Our room also looked out onto the parking lot which... more
“This is a very clean, very friendly hotel. The room was large and comfortable, though it looked out over the parking lot. There was a morning newspaper at the door, and free taxi service to the Gray Line tour to Butchart Gardens. The breakfast was very good, though the service was hectic, as there was only a single server. The location was a little far from downtown.”
