I would not recommend this hotel for anyone with small kids or for anyone who wants good quality for the money. No free breakfast no separation between beds for kitchen units. Front desk staff we're were not very helpful! Will never stay again nor will I ever use expedia to book a trip!!!!

The hotel overal is looking dated and requires modernization. Hotel restaurant staff were ok but the food was discusting and poorly cooked and presented. Tostitos were burnt, portions were very small. Staff did not even check the food before serving, obviously burnt food. Not a very profesional experience for a hotel chain of this caliber.

I enjoyed my stay at the St John's Ramada. The bed was so comfy, the room was super clean. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant was and served fantastic home cooked meals. You know that the restaurant serves great food when the locals come all the time. The restaurant and bar had such old world charm with the dark wood.

Wifi service

internet signal was very weak. complained several times but no attempt was made to resolve issue. Hotel staff suggested it was a problem with my computer. Computer was checked by a certified technician....no problem. Had to put up with this for 3 nights!

Not what I hoped for

Wall paper peeling off walls, mold in the shower, loud staff walking up halls yelling, curtains had stains. Won't stay there if someone paid me. I felt dirtier after I showered. Worse hotel I've ever stayed in.

Temperature was 32 degrees, air conditioning in the room broke. Front desk brought fan at 3am. Otherwise ok place to stay if you want to pay big $ for less quality.

Staff were very good. Room was large and beds were comfortable BUT this hotel is not close to downtown so a car or taxi are a must. Hotel needs renovations as entrance and hall carpets are old and dirty. Our AC kept going off and our toilet broke during our 10 day stay.

The hotel is in need of some upgrade and painting definately in hallways. Smells stale and old. Rooms are not soundproof by any means. Overall it is ok.

The hotel was clean, quiet, comfortable, and easy to access. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant three times after long days of touring and it was a good thing we were on vacation because the service was very slow. Food was mediocre. All in all, a good, economical place to stay. I would recommend it but wouldn't necessarily eat there.

Tired but comfortable hotel

I have been traveling across Eastern Canada, and arrived in Newfoundland last Saturday. I checked in to my hotel, and although the hallways of this establishment have seen better days, the rooms are big and comfortable. This is an older hotel and is looking 'tired'. The mattress was a little soft, pillows lumpy and the armchair was looking it's age. The room was clean but there was a 'smell' in the room. Don't know where it was coming from but it had a stale smell. Hotel prices in St. John's are pretty steep so the price of this one did reflect it's age.

Nice hotel in about an business area

Enjoyed our stay at the Ramada Inn St. John's. The staff were great. The rooms were clean and spacious. However, do not expect a great view from your window. The hotel is in a business/ industrial area. This did not bother us, because the staff and the comfort of the room made the difference. Leave the magnificent view to Signal Hill.

Beautiful hotel, although the elevator was a little scary using sounds old and that we might get stuck so we used the stairs. The room ceilings weren't finished. But clean otherwise and nice to have kitchen appliances at your connivence.

Old building, old furniture, poor staff, awkward elevator, which is behind the kitchen, makes me to write, stray away from this hotel at all cost, although I liked the restaurant.

Very good. Service good, room lovely.Didn't like that my credit card was charged $50 when we had paid in advance. No explanation given. I saw it once we got home. Call hotel... said it was only 'pending" still do not know 'Why"

Sports trip

We travelled as a school sports trip. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The food was excellent and the cleanliness and quality of the rooms was great. I'd definitely stay there again.

Great location, you get what you paid for

This is a great location to stay in St.John's and the price is great compared to downtown hotels. It is showing wear and tear but overall it is fairly clean. Needs paint and new carpet. The restaurant has fairly decent food and staff are friendly. Front desk staff could work on their hospitality skills.

Arrived very late and it was almost like I was bothering the night clerk, not sure he said more than 4 words to me during the entire check in process. Room was fairly clean. Older Hotel and it shows some wear.

Accommodations and location were great, had a kitchenette unit, sofa and king sized bed. Staff were friendly and informative, especially the front desk. Close to downtown, Avalon mall and points of interest.

From the moment we checked in and the clerk realized we booked with hotels.com the service was down right rude. They first put us in a basement room with windows above our head. We were able to get moves but to a room that the air conditioning was broke..

I found the parking lot too restrictive for the size of the hotel. The hotel has a restaurant so parking should reflect that.

Pulled back bed clothes only to find what looked like makeup stains on sheets! Nasty!! Since I was already dressed for bed, it was a good thing I had a double room and the other bed was fine. Need a lot of renovation

The hotel location is very good near the mall and many places where you can eat. However, the hotel itself is very old and need to be renovated ASAP. I liked the microwave oven in the room and the big refrigerator, very ideal for family with kids.

we were tired at the end of the trip and were given a room with only half windows looking into a truck parking lot, this after long winding corrirors. Very 1970, clean but old. Never stay there again and neither should you, unless you like to stay in a tomb
