This hotel has dirty elevator, and dirty carpet all the floors. I requested non smoking room/floor. People were smoking in the hallway. No bellman to help with bags, no cart available to do myself.

Non-smokers Beware

Great breakfast. Took a smoking room since it was the last left and it was so bad I got an eye infection. They do not air out the smoking rooms very well so they are not tolerable to a non-smoker, even with an ionizer. I've stayed in their non-smoking rooms before and they were fine, however, I find the rooms poorly lit.

Hotel needs improvements

Our room was freezing cold. Called for maintenance to come and fix it only to be cooked out of the room. Not a very pleasant stay.

Restaurant review & checkin

The first room we were given was occupied and took a while to be assigned a new room. The restaurant wasn't prepared to handle extra people having a meal before the event that was held there.

I had a big comfortable room. Staff were always polite and helpful. My favourite part was the breakfast buffet - everyone gets their own urn of coffee! That is just not something you see very often and it made my day. The food was good too!

Close to appointment

I think what I like about the Hotel is the uniqueness that looks like castle. It just need to renovate especially the bathroom, we have a terrible experienced of turning on the faucet in the tub. We did not asked the front desk to change our room co'z it is inconvenient for us to pack our things back again.

Booked 1 queen room; given 2 queen room and advised: That there is no extra charge; that guests like the surprise of 2 beds; that expedia always books what they may not have. Nice, pet friendly hotel

We were looking for a nice, pet-friendly hotel for our trip to Edmonton. And we decided that this hotel met all of our needs. The breakfast buffet in the morning was a pleasant surprise to help start our day. We will definitely stay here again.

Needs some updates

We stayed at the Ramada which is very close to Kingsway mall. I haven't stayed here an several years and nothing has been done to update it since than. Our room was very outdated. You could tell it was once a smoking room because as soon as you walked in you could smell it and there were cigarette burns in the carpet. The continental breakfast did not look very appealing. Carpeting and furniture very dated, bathroom sink slow to drain, "felt old"

Not what I expected

Bathroom in very poor contrition, the sink was broken - water came out of the tap but the actual sink basin was broken. When showering the tub tap ran, the beds were very uncomfortable, however the room was big.

Hotel needs updating, the staff were excellent. I had a problem with the room I was initially put in and they resolved the issue immediately and put me in a different and nicer room :)

Convenient location, reasonable price

Well maintained older building, close to Royal Alexandra hospital complex and close to downtown Edmonton. Enjoyed the flourless chocolate cake at the restaurant and the rest of the meal was well prepared.

close to what we needed it for

The stay was ok. We just needed a room for the night so we didn't need anything extravagant. There was no room service menu in the room as there should have been. I dropped something on the floor and when I picked it up, I noticed there was stuff under the TV cabinet. Overall, it was alright. For the price and location, I would stay again.

Convenient hotel for what we needed.

The hotel staff were really nice, we had a drink at the bar and the bartender by far was the best. She was talkative and made she we were doing okay the whole time. The room was okay, wasn't anything fancy but we were going to a concert that was close to the hotel so it worked for what we needed. The bathroom door didn't close properly and we never got asked how our stay was.

Terrible staff

Waited too long for the understaffed front desk to acknowledge my presence...showed up at 3 pm but had to wait over an hour for a clean room and staff in the breakfast restaurant were terrible....waited ridiculous time to be seated, to receive menus and then to receive food.

Will never go again. The rooms were probably converted from an hostel. The TV's in the room are no longer sold in the market. The internet can only be connected on the table in the far corner. The breakfast was the only best thing.

Our hockey team was assigned this hotel as they were a partner in the Alberta Champions Cup tournament this past weekend. Staff are the worst

Staff treat you like you owe the something. WIth the exception of one guy the rest of the staff is rude and lazy. It seems that all the staff dont want to work there or have worked there so long they dont care.Also many of the guests look like they just fell off a city bus and this is the first place they stumbled to to sober up.The price wasnt to bad but with bad staff I wouldnt stay ever again.

Tired and old. Not within walking distance to anything, no pool, weak to nonexistent wifi signal, couldn't get thermostat to work properly, bathroom light went out, maintenance came quickly but took over an hour to fix because it was an electrical problem, not a light bulb problem.

Since the City Centre Airport closure, this hotel seems to habe been allowed to slowly deteriorate. Was great service just didn't like that the food was brought out to soon. Overall that was the only bad review for my part. The workers were excellent and very helpful with there service. Disappointing for the Ramada name. Outdated and run down. No AC in room, no non-smoking rooms available. We were assured the room would be clean and not smokey, just on a smoking floor, but our room did smell badly like smoke. A medical trip

This hotel is beginning to get run down. The heater rattled and we asked for another room. The sheets were dirty. Paper cups instead of real mugs. The buffet is okay, better if they would use real eggs. It is a cheaper hotel, but I was disappointed this trip as it is usually better.

Wonderful business stay

We were in town for the CGTA show & moved to this hotel from our original lodging choice and were so glad we did. This was so much better. Clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff!

Good Accommodation

Stayed there because this is where the wedding we were attending was hosted. All was well including the buffet breakfast, comfortable, clean room and plenty of free parking. The facility seemed to accommodate the wedding perfect. Although the hotel is located right beside a downtown airport which does not seem to be used much, there was no concern about noise.

Annual convention

The Ramada Hotel on Kingsway is a old hotel and it shows in the rooms, they are small and outdated. Half of the rooms are closed for renovations. The staff was very nice and helpful. Cheers, David.

My wife and I just recently had one of our worst hotel experiences at the Ramada Conference Centre Edmonton. We had a confirmed reservation for a bi-level suite and when we checked in we discovered that they had given the suite to someone else. There was no explanation as to why. Not a place i would stay again

Well if you are looking for a bargain in the Edmonton area then this is it. The place itself is not bad but the bedroom needs renovation. Its old and the mattress were very uncomfortable. Overall I would not stay here again as its not worth the uncomfortable stay.

I did not feel the warm welcome and the supervisor in charged at the time i checked in was unfriendly.I was put in a room where there was a guest opposite from my room who is probably have a drinking problem or something to that matter. Proximity to Via Rail Edmonton

Excellent instructions at the check-in desk and relief at being in the hotel's data base after booking on-line with a travel agency. The convenience at being able to park in the back was welcomed. Needed a baggage trolley but couldn't see one anywhere close.

Not Recomended at all.... Unfortunately my room was booked for me through work or I would not have stayed there, nor would I ever recomend this hotel for anyone to stay at. The Lobby is ok but that's where it ends, the rooms are dirty and dingy, the hallways are more than a little run down & they have a really awful smell to them. Business location and purpose

Everything was just average with a distinct lack of amenities. Instead of the personal touch it had vending machines which lacked necessary items needed. The service from the front dest staff ranged from good to bad; inconsistent and frustrating.

Cafe staff seemed lost the first night!

One of my faves, unfortunately after 9 hours of driving the Botanica night staff were adrift in a sea of incompetency. After a 20 minute wait with our menus and having poured ourselves our own water as I was having a coughing jag, we left the half dozen or so other customers and went to Esmeraldas! Everything was really good here, the hotel was clean, the room was great, however the front desk for check in was slow. There was eight of us waiting to check in and they only had one guy on the front desk, if you don't mind a wait this hotel is great for the price and location.

The service in the hotel it's self was good. The problem was the resturant the service was the the best. It was gettting to the bad side. The price were to high, the service from the staff was terrible. The date that we were there, the resturant staff seem to cater to only certain patrons and the rest of us had to wait or fend for our selves.

Pet Friendly...Hurray!

It was a toss up...Was I going to put my 2 small dogs in the kennel, again? My husband's death in June had affected us all deeply and I really missed my 2 "girls" when I travel and I end up having to put them in the kennel. Edmonton

Given that I was there on business and needed to access the business center, I did not appreciate having a dozen or so teenagers taking up all of the working computers and printers to look at their Facebook or MySpace pages.

Room was horrible

Our first room was horrible! The carpet was full of stains and burn marks. The loveseat in the room was old and ratty. I must say though when I complained about it they did upgrade our room at no extra charge so I would have to say the service was good.
