I didn't hold high expectations when I booked this room and I wasn't disappointed . The room was ice cold so I went to adjust the themostat , but it was not an adjustable one so I thought I would turn up the fan on the radiator in the room, that turned out to be a bad idea as the noise of the fan banging on the heating element was unbearable I decided I would just cuddle the wife for heat ,... more
It was ok!! The Elevators were not working and it was very busy. The Breakfast was not very good!! Cold Patatoes and no choice of eggs!! No bacon!! Not much selection. Service in the Restaurant was ok.
Very good value. The staff are very nice. The place is not brand new, but the staff look after it well. There was adequate parking.
The staff were very pleasant but the walls, and carpet could of used a good cleaning or repairs.
I booked this room as a co-worker had booked there, but the next time he will have to drive to pick me up else where as I will not be staying in this hotel again. I understand it is old, but as soon as I stepped in the elevator let alone out I realized this was not my standard of hotel. The carpets are stained and dirty. The bathroom shower tile does not even match, and I had to dust hairs out... more
This hotel has dirty elevator, and dirty carpet all the floors. I requested non smoking room/floor. People were smoking in the hallway. No bellman to help with bags, no cart available to do myself.
Great breakfast. Took a smoking room since it was the last left and it was so bad I got an eye infection. They do not air out the smoking rooms very well so they are not tolerable to a non-smoker, even with an ionizer. I've stayed in their non-smoking rooms before and they were fine, however, I find the rooms poorly lit.
Our room was freezing cold. Called for maintenance to come and fix it only to be cooked out of the room. Not a very pleasant stay.
Pleasantly surprised with room. Very spacious and set up well.
It was very good. Free breakfast was very good. We would stay again if the need arises.
I liked the location of this hotel but the beds were uncomfortable and the maids kept trying to get into our room at 9:00 am and were extremely loud in the hall while we were trying to sleep. We didn't have the do not disturb sign up so I will take partial blame but I don't understand why housekeeping comes around so early when majority of the time people are on vacation while staying at a hotel.
I was disappointed with the choice of menu they had. I expected to have a better selection. the meal i had was not good. my wife was not to pleased with her meal also. the service by front desk was very satisfactory.
Very clean. Great staff. Needs a little updating in lobby and hallways Would like lounge open till 1 am
hotel stuff were good, breakfast ok too just room carpet need to be replaced
Staff were friendly and nice quiet location! Would stay here again!!
I stayed for one night and my welcome was cold. The room was small as well as the beds. The balcony door let cold air in. The bathroom was very small and not elegant. I was stuck at the very end of a complicated corridor system with a narrow entrance. It was not a 2.5 stars but more a low end 2. They may have a cheesy elaborate fake garden with plastic plaster rocks and plastic plants in the... more
there was no heater fan in the bathroom and it is small and not at all good to stay even single night
The first room we were given was occupied and took a while to be assigned a new room. The restaurant wasn't prepared to handle extra people having a meal before the event that was held there.
Room needs total renovation. Windows & patio door needs to be replaced.
Drinked 6 bottles of water during the night, just couldnt sleep, too hot and dry.
I had a big comfortable room. Staff were always polite and helpful. My favourite part was the breakfast buffet - everyone gets their own urn of coffee! That is just not something you see very often and it made my day. The food was good too!
hallway elevator rooms are very outdated and not the cleanest
I think what I like about the Hotel is the uniqueness that looks like castle. It just need to renovate especially the bathroom, we have a terrible experienced of turning on the faucet in the tub. We did not asked the front desk to change our room co'z it is inconvenient for us to pack our things back again.
clean room, good location, good staff, just needs a little updating and better signage. I got lost trying to find the room.
It was an okay hotel. Not the worst or best by far. But the staff and food was good. It just needs a update on rooms.
Booked 1 queen room; given 2 queen room and advised: That there is no extra charge; that guests like the surprise of 2 beds; that expedia always books what they may not have. Got what i booked atthe expense of someone else who, i was told, wouldn't mind. The room had the telltale aroma of cigarette smoke from a previous idenitty.
Room needs updating, breakfast included with room was average at best, but included. Elevators needed repair, good parking area.
We were looking for a nice, pet-friendly hotel for our trip to Edmonton. And we decided that this hotel met all of our needs. The breakfast buffet in the morning was a pleasant surprise to help start our day. We will definitely stay here again.
I chose this hotel because it was close to the venue of a wedding I was attending in Edmonton. It had plenty of parking, the room was very clean, staff were well trained and pleasant. Their buffet breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended!
We stayed at the Ramada which is very close to Kingsway mall. I haven't stayed here an several years and nothing has been done to update it since than. Our room was very outdated. You could tell it was once a smoking room because as soon as you walked in you could smell it and there were cigarette burns in the carpet. The continental breakfast did not look very appealing. Staff were not bad.... more
Had testing at Nait to do! Hop, skip and a jump over and I was there! Great hotel staff! Great free continental breakfast in the AM!
I honestly cannot remember the last time I stayed at a hotel that didn't have a mini refrigerator in the room. That was a surprise when I went searching for it's secret location and couldn't find it. The room just seemed old.
When I went to check in the hotel had not recieved anything from expedia. I was told to sit and wait. Even though I could show here my resevation was confirmed she would not do anything for me. After an hour she finally started to do some checking with Expedia and said it could take up to 2 hours. I informed her that I had a function to go to and I need to shower and change. Finally after she... more
Bathroom in very poor contrition, the sink was broken - water came out of the tap but the actual sink basin was broken. When showering the tub tap ran, the beds were very uncomfortable, however the room was big.
Hotel needs updating, the staff were excellent. I had a problem with the room I was initially put in and they resolved the issue immediately and put me in a different and nicer room :)
Well maintained older building, close to Royal Alexandra hospital complex and close to downtown Edmonton. Enjoyed the flourless chocolate cake at the restaurant and the rest of the meal was well prepared.
The stay was ok. We just needed a room for the night so we didn't need anything extravagant. There was no room service menu in the room as there should have been. I dropped something on the floor and when I picked it up, I noticed there was stuff under the TV cabinet. Overall, it was alright. For the price and location, I would stay again.
God awful couch that served no purpose. Uncomfortable bed with tiny pillows.
Hotel is very dated. Faucet broken. Smelled in lobby. Found bullet in lobby. Extensive wine list but only a few bottles in stock. Charged $10.00 for 3 eggs. Desk clerk did not even ask if everything was alright or how our stay was. Night staff was helpful. Reservation was messed up. They did get a room for us. Breakfast buffet was good.Would not stay at this hotel again.
good location. good security had to use your room key to operate the elevator. comfortable beds.
The hotel staff were really nice, we had a drink at the bar and the bartender by far was the best. She was talkative and made she we were doing okay the whole time. The room was okay, wasn't anything fancy but we were going to a concert that was close to the hotel so it worked for what we needed. The bathroom door didn't close properly and we never got asked how our stay was.
Waited too long for the understaffed front desk to acknowledge my presence...showed up at 3 pm but had to wait over an hour for a clean room and staff in the breakfast restaurant were terrible....waited ridiculous time to be seated, to receive menus and then to receive food.
There is no swimming pool or hot tub in the hotel. kids were disappointed. otherwise it's a big hotel and also not too far downtown
Will never go again. The rooms were probably converted from an hostel. The TV's in the room are no longer sold in the market. The internet can only be connected on the table in the far corner. The breakfast was the only best thing.
Love it close to everything front desk good service and free breakfast
Service was top notch as well as the breakfast buffet. The hallway carpets are in need of replacement. All in all, very pleased with the hotel. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
Everything is good. Only the location is far away from downtown.
We were treated with great curtesy and found our server to be fantastic Liezel Van Berkel after this experience all 4 members of our family will gladly book our next trip there we were treated immediately without being crowded having a party coming from all different city's we were unfamiliar with the building so for us it was a worry... more
I was on a business trip, and our typical corporate hotels are properties with Starwood hotels. However, I chose to stay at this hotel, as I have friends who live in north Edmonton, making it easier to visit. I regretted my decision the moment that I checked-into my room.

Our hockey team was assigned this hotel as they were a partner in the Alberta Champions Cup tournament this past weekend. The staff was helpful, while booking our block of rooms for the tournament, but when asked about the possibility of having the buffet start 30 mins early was told that it only started at the designated time.

It's old. The smell reminds me of your grandparents' house, that cigarette kind of stench. Try and avoid this place.
Worst Hotel Ever- will never stay here again and definitely do not recommend! Stained carpets, bathtub kept gurgling really loud - sounded like it was going to back up- phoned front desk- said they would send up maintenance- never did. No climate control in room- way too hot. the hotel is nice but a little worn , we usually stay in nisku , as it is newer , but it was on opposite side of town but close to Kingsway mall . the breakfast was simple and nice and the people were nice , my daughter slept in one bed and I slept in the other queen ,
This is the place our family always stays we were there for a wedding once and had good experience, friendly staff, clean and quiet, sense then we have always went back and stayed with the same great experience and one of the cheaper ones, just wish it had a pool. Its close to a lot of things about 20 min form West Ed Mall also. going back in few weeks again it will be about 5th time there.
I just wanted to let the management know that Crystal Nelson is probably the best Server that I have come across in a long time. I had a dinner planned with myself and my team of five girls. Book hotel as I assumed Ramada Hotels had some standards. Ròom was old and in poor shape. Internet service wad worst than dial up. Breakfast smorg was just ok. And most of the ti.e it was missing food. I will never stay here again. Poor excuse for a Ramada.
Our Company is a small business and part of our services is that we provide a 2 day course for the construction industry. I requested a classroom style setting of table and chairs. We returned to the hotel later in the evening. Someone mentioned Food. We asked Liezel at the BotaniCa Resturant if she was still serving. Oh yes, until 11. Perfect! She brought us a pleasent end to the evening.
My wife and I just came for dinner at BotaniCa. The food was excellent and the kitchen was able to cater to some of our special requests. Our server Liezel was excellent. She was very personable and attentive. Overall a great dinner experience.
Crystal with BotaniCa at Ramada was amazing.. Awesome Service she provided me with the best experience of a lifetime something I will never forget.. Great food, great service. Crystal provided me with extra effort making my time here just amazing.
Staff treat you like you owe the something. WIth the exception of one guy the rest of the staff is rude and lazy. It seems that all the staff dont want to work there or have worked there so long they dont care. Also many of the guests look like they just fell off a city bus and this is the first place they stumbled to to sober up.The price wasnt to bad but with bad staff I wouldnt stay ever again.
I have been staying at the hotel throughout the last three winters due to work and have been treated exceptionally well (like family) on every visit. Hotel was good and services offered were a good value for your money but the front desk staff need some definite customer service training and this includes the management. The location to the royal Alex hospital is good. The rooms in the east tower need to be updated, rugs are dirty in the rooms. Tired and old. Not within walking distance to anything, no pool, weak to nonexistent wifi signal, couldn't get thermostat to work properly, bathroom light went out, maintenance came quickly but took over an hour to fix because it was an electrical problem, not a light bulb problem.
I attended a business course close to the area about 4.0kms away. Perfect location for this purpose, except avoid Yellowhead Hwy 16 westbound in the morning. Better to use Kinsway, 118 Avenue and St. Albert trail and expect a bit of slow traffic lights that turn a 10 minute commute into 25 minutes.

I was here for a conference, and let me tell you, what a cluster f***. For being a "Conference Centre" they really have no idea how to run anything. The elevators require keys to go up to a room level, and they rarely work. By the time you get it to work, you are already on the 5th level, picking someone else up, and you wanted the 2nd.

Recently stayed here for a big Conference, the people at the front desk were very patient and nice. Disappointing for the Ramada name. Outdated and run down. No AC in room, no non-smoking rooms available. This hotel was pretty bad. My company booked us there for two weeks, and we could not wait until it was over. Stayed there because this is where the wedding we were attending was hosted. All was well including the buffet breakfast, comfortable, clean room and plenty of free parking. The facility seemed to accommodate the wedding perfect. Although the hotel is located right beside a downtown airport which does not seem to be used much, there was no concern about noise.
The Ramada Hotel on Kingsway is a old hotel and it shows in the rooms, they are small and outdated. Half of the rooms are closed for renovations. The staff was very nice and helpful. Cheers, David.

Excellent instructions at the check-in desk and relief at being in the hotel's data base after booking on-line with a travel agency. The convenience at being able to park in the back was welcomed. Needed a baggage trolley but couldn't see one anywhere close.
Not Recomended at all.... Unfortunately my room was booked for me through work or I would not have stayed there, nor would I ever recomend this hotel for anyone to stay at. One of my faves, unfortunately after 9 hours of driving the Botanica night staff were adrift in a sea of incompetency. Staff was friendly and courteous. Upgraded my room no extra charge. Area of room was nice and quiet.
The service in the hotel it's self was good. The problem was the resturant the service was the the best. It was gettting to the bad side. “The hotel is falling behind on maintenance. A swimming pool would be nice. This hotel does not rate one star.”
“We absolutely loved the hotel except for the most rudimentary level of our room. The beds were comfortable. I appreciated the internet access. Julie's Bistro in the lobby was excellent in every way.”
“Good place to stay. I had brought my children and they seemed to have fun. There is no pool or waterslide, however there is a new games room with lots of stuff to entertain them. My husband and I were down for a hockey tourney and the whole team enjoyed it.”
