This would be a higher-starred review, except we booked a king bed and pre-paid to ensure we would get a king bed. When we checked in (late afternoon), we were shown to a suite with two queens. I immediately called the front desk to be moved to a king, but was told there were no kings available andI had been "upgraded at no extra charge" to the suite. Well, I pre-paid for a king and I wanted a... more
We just recently stayed here for 5 nights to see Halifax and surrounding Nova Scotia area. If we ever return to visit Halifax, this would be our first choice for hotel.
Location: For sight-seeing, dining, and going to the many pubs in Halifax, I can not imagine a better location to stay. The Hollis Halifax is right in middle of everything; we could literally walk 5-10 minutes and be anywhere...

Service and staff are excellent and really are what keeps me choosing this spot. Check was quick and efficient even with our early check in request. I had an issue with the coffee maker and housekeeping was up with a new one within 20 minutes.
The renovation looks great. I had stayed here before and found that the renovations have modernized the hotel. I spent some time working at the computer...

Rooms are super huge. The shower was made to have sex in, if you're into that. Am.
Modern decor, massive bed, warm cookies....I could go on. Fantastic. I'll stay here again.
Don't let that god awful hallway carpet fool you, the room was gorgeous, and huge, it was like staying in a one bedroom apartment. Best hotel I've been to as of ever.
The hotel formerly known as Radisson, The Hollis, went through a big renovation about a year and a half ago and although I hadn't been there before, I'm sure it has paid off as the hotel is fantastic inside.
I've seen renos done at other hotels and a lot of stuff gets h@!%!**#~d in an attempt to save money, but in the end just ends up diluting the value of the renovations - old bathroom...

Based on the other reviews on this site I had high expectations, and was completely let down. I got the best room I could get and was not impressed.

Stayed at the Radisson three nights in August. The price was reasonable and the room (suite) was spacious with a nice sitting area, kitchenette area, and separate bedroom.

I stayed in one of the suites for my 20th birthday and the room was gorgeous. It was modern and it even had a tv in the bathroom mirror witch was cool. The sleep number bed was fantastic. On the room service one I had seen French toast(that would satisfy even one of the pickiest eaters in the world-myself) and it... more

Excellent Staff. I found the room to be very clean and comfortable. The hotel has a good location for getting around. Fairly good amenities pool and fitness center. I will be returning to this hotel for future visits.
The front desk staff were beyond pleasant and very helpful! From the time we checked in until the time we checked out, Jessica and Corey were very pleasant! Always greeting us with a smile and hello whenever we came in and out of the hotel. Fantastic hotel with GREAT service, will be back for sure!!
It was my first time staying at the Radisson and I was quite impressed with the rooms, its cleanliness and its location. Situated downtown, it made easy to go to and back from meeting. The staff is friendly, helpful and courteous. I will definitely go back to this hotel.
The Radisson is a great hotel, rooms are clean and the hotel is new and up to date. It is a great location right on the water front of down town Halifax. The staff are very friendly and room service is fast .
I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and it is always a pleasant experience. The front desk staff have always gone above and beyond in making my stay enjoyable and relaxing. The new look of this hotel (lobby and rooms) is modern, fresh, and inviting.

I have stayed at this Hptrel every time I visit Halifax. No question in my mind that this hotel is the best bang for your buck. The Staff go out of there way and make you feel very welcome. Newly renovated and looks fantastic!
We have stayed in nearly every hotel in Halifax, but always come back to the Radisson. We have decided from here on in, we will always pick the Radisson. The rooms are always clean, fresh and comfortable. The beds are the best. The rooms are trendy and recently renovated. The staff is the best.
Great location, price and the most comfortable bed I have slept in in a long time! Staff were also very helpful. Facilities were nice, very clean room. Love having the kitchenette even though we didn't need it.
Amazing stay in a lovely hotel. I was here for a specific event and stayed in the hotel as well. The hotel is clean and modern looking. The rooms are well turned out, soft beds and amazing pillows. The bathroom had a rainfall shower head which was very refreshing.
I stayed here during an impromptu business trip and had heard that the entire facility had recently been renovated. this was our second time at the hotel and other than the construction that woke us up early Saturday morning we had a great stay. Happy hour was great and i was pleasantly surprised at the prices. i would recommend the hotel to anyone
We stayed at this newly renovated property for our staff Christmas party and our employees couldn't have been more pleased. They loved the rooms and the hotel in general. The staff are impeccably trained and ensure a positive guest experience.
Love the stay at the Radisson, our group stayed the night and attended the Halifax Dinner Theatre that night! The rooms were beautiful and so clean! Great internet service and such friendly staff! See you again soon! We love this hotel!
The Radisson Suite Hotel Halifax is an extraordinary value for those travellers that expect more from their overnight stay than just a room to sleep in. Staff are so friendly at this hotel and the location is great. It was walking distance to everywhere we needed to go. Second time at the Halifax Radisson. Loved the first time, returned in November 2014. The room we had on the 9th floor had a heat problem (it wouldn't turn off or turn down). I will be the first to admit that I don't stay in alot of hotels, so when I have an even remotely nice one, I am so impressed. This is well beyond just nice.

Modern...convenient...friendly....An excellent location near the waterfront and downtown. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Te Radisson offers an excellent away from home experience - I love the modern decor!
The junior suites are an awesome room for a girls night out. With a separate living room and bar area it made for a great space for us to chat and enjoy snacks and a glass of wine. The beds, with duvets were comfy and the view of the Halifax waterfront was awesome. We'll be back again for sure.
I booked this hotel expecting a nice place, but it exceeded all my hopes. The staff was fantastic, the location was close to everything, and the rooms were huge. The shower was the nicest I have ever had. The pool and hot tub area in the basement were great. No reason not to stay here again if I visit Halifax.
Stay here all the time, enjoy it very much, well located and service 5 star
We were welcomed very warmly, and they warned us that there was construction very close to the hotel and that they would be happy to help us relocate if that was a problem. However not only was the construction not a problem but we had a beautiful room, that overlooked the Halifax harbour. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming into Halifax that want a central location close to the water.
We enjoyed it and found the staff friendly and helpful. They gave us good advice on nearby restaurants that were exactly what we were looking for. We would stay again next time in Halifax.
Fantastic 2 day stay Nov 25-27th, 2014. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the rooms are impeccable. I was surprised with a tv in the bathroom mirror which was fantastic while getting ready in the morning! The location is ideal for walking around downtown. This will definetely be my 'go-to' hotel in Halifax!
The hotel is very nice, the rooms are amazing and the staff is great. Also, it is not the 1st time I stay at that hotel. However this trip just didn't do it. unfortunately... This is a well located hotel in the heart of Halifax, steps from the harbour. The room was clean, freshly furnished and spacious. The front desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all, a highly satisfactory experience!
For the friendliness of staff, level of amenities, location and price point this hotel exceeds expectations. Recent upgrades to the hotel's interior have really taken a very good hotel and made it into a great hotel. Very little left to improve upon. Hoping that this one remains consistent as it is truly a gem!
Beautiful hotel, huge room with peek through shower excellent in room toiletries great location . Definitely splurge for the water view side, completely worth it. Excellent staff. Prompt valet service. Zero complaints!
We stayed 2 nights and were impressed. Noticed however that it is becoming a Hilton Doubletree hotel next month. The rooms were spacious but bathroom was perhaps a little small. Great location near downtown, the Brewery Market on Hollis st. Would stay here again
You take a suite, and you get a room almost as big as a condo! And the view is not bad and you get also a luxurious and quality products. I would say it worth the extra bang for the bucks. Probably one of the best hotel in Halifax.
Best newly renovated hotel in downtown Halifax. Awesome room décor. Over friendly staff. Helpful with every aspect of our stay and then some. Great wine. Awesome food. Hysterical and professional combined to make our stay a 10 out of 10. I didn't want to leave
great staff. well appointed rooms. great harbour views. tv in the bathroom mirror. classy and tasteful lobby. Complimentry extra pillows and a comfortable mattress. large easy access shower. large seating area for entertaining. looked like an apartment. will stay here again next time we are in the city
Comfortable and spacious suite... always like the little kitchen for quick snacks especially with young kids... as normal Radisson hotels with suites around Toronto. In-room breakfast was warm and delectable... not like some other 4 star hotels
Shopping trip with the girls, so easy hotel to get your bearings straight around the city, close to great restaurants/ nightlife. Lovely suite - modern and clean. If we had a complaint it would be the room service. It is provided by the restaurant downstairs - Ryan Duffys. Excellent hotel with large , modern rooms. quiet and great location. Recently updated. We were given a room with a harbour view which was wonderful. Great amenities and service. The only thing I dodn't like about the hotel is the parking. We did valet but wish they had attached parking that you could do yourself.
Our stay at the Radisson is something we always look forward to on our annual Nova Scotia trip. We've stayed here four times and have ALWAYS loved it. We had a great experience - wish it could have been longer. Close to downtown, restaurants, cafes and the waterfront.
Very nice modern hotel style. We stayed one night. The restaurant is highly rated and had great food. The room was decent, the bathroom was extra large and the rain-forest shower head was an awesome feature. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a classy stay in downtown Halifax.
Had a lovely time in the city. great food, music and hotel.
We stayed 3 nights here in September on a 3 week maritime vacation. This hotel is in a great location; walking distance to all the highlights along the waterfront and downtown. We has a waterfront view which was nice, but the room layout was a little weird and not particularly handy. Hotel staff were very helpful.
Very pleased with my stay, harbour view, rooms were very nice, hotel staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help (Trevor the concierge). We could walk to many great restaurants and the boardwalk was close as well! Only downfall was the construction noise going on next door, not the hotels fault obviously.
Wonderful stay. Great location for walking to lots of attractions and restrauant.
I debated between giving this place 3 or 4 stars... And then decided that the cheap drinks during happy hour brought this to 4 stars. The drinks during happy hour are cheap, and there's a good variety.
I'm disappointed with the nachos though. Lack of cheese, lack of toppings - for $14 (+$ for extras) gimme some cheese! Don't skimp and leave my tortillas chips bare and naked, toasted to a...

I have stayed at the Radisson NS many times. It was renovated 2 years ago and they have done a fantastic job. The rooms are lovely with a contemporary flair. Clean and extremely comfortable.
This is one if the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. We let the valet park the car and we enjoyed walking through Halifax for 3 days. Our room overlooked the water front. We were close to everything. We'll definitely stay here again.
Excellent hotel. Fresh and clean. Beautiful rooms. Beautiful Lobby and bar. Excellent staff.
This hotel is fabulous! I will stay there again for sure.
Rooms where only serviced every second day, didn't replace the coffee for the rooms till serviced, had to ask for comforter for the hid a bed as the A/C vent blew right onto it. Didn't have coffee in the lobby for travellers
They don't tell you you'll be sleeping next to a construction zone. Pounding starts at 8am. Room had no air conditioning. Wasted 300 on 1 night.
great place to visit. Restaurants, pubs, museums Yuk Yuks etc. and buskerfest . we didn't even have time to get to the Casino.
hot tub didn't work and there were no towels available in the pool area.
Wonderful hotel, everything was clean, the staff (including room service) was fantastic and met our every need. Having never been to this city before, I was thrilled that the hotel seemed to be central to walking everywhere. Only drawback, I wish they'd been more clear about the parking situation. We recently spent a few nights at the Radisson Suite Hotel, before exploring the rest of Nova Scotia. It was a great start to the trip. We were so thrilled to find a hotel to accommodate our family of five. We slept in a room with a king bed and a pull out sofa bed. Convenient location, attentive and personable staff, home to Ryan Duffy's (one of the best restaurants in Halifax), indoor pool, ultra-modern furnishings -- I couldn't have asked for more. It was great.
Really close to bars and restaurants and really close to the waterfront boardwalk. Only downside was room right next to construction site smd very noisy especially in morning.
I stayed in Radisson hotels in Sweden before. They are generally pertty basic with a "modern" feel. This one was no different. I usually don't leave reviews but had to this time because of the excellent service. We arrived on the red eye from Calgary and they let us check in at 9am to get some sleep before hitting the town. Trevor the concierge was more than helpful and provided us with information on things to see and do while in Halifax and beyond. Very pleased.
Kind and professional staff. Reserved parking, beautiful king sized beds, best sleep ever! Wish we stayed more than one night! Amazingly redecorated!!
I arrived and was promptly told my room, indeed no room, was available and that I was to walk to another hotel a few blocks away and that they would cover the cost of this room. This was a great location and hotel for the price. Very happy with anything. The staff was great and helpful. If I was going to Halifax again I don't even think I would consider booking somewhere else as this was perfect for us.
Was in town for a conference. This location was great, and although the hotel looks only OK from the outside, the inside is newly reno-ed and totally great - for the price, you will not get a larger or comfier room anywhere. Very nice accommodations just steps from the lively waterfront of Halifax. Our suite was clean and luxurious throughout. Housekeeping hit a home run in our book. Parking was a little odd in that we used a vacant lot in the neighborhood, but no problem there either.
The rooms were newly renovated and pristine, the location cannot be beat and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was equipped with fridge and microwave, a huge plus if travelling with kids. The hotel is a minute walk to the waterfront (great for a walk or a run), also close to excellent restaurants and the Citadel.
Great Hotel. My wife had an unfortunate accident while we were staying at the hotel. And the staff and management were exceptional. And the happy hours don't hurt either. I would recommend the Radisson Suites Hotel to anyone who is going to Halifax.
Spent 3 nights with my family. Walked everywhere. Great location and wonderful staff. Will be back
Clean large rooms in a central location in downtown Halifax: reasonably priced compared to the competition. Peeka boo views of the harbour. Didn't visit pool or sauna but nice that it is on site. Internet and amenities were all good.
Beautiful hotel, unique decor. Very , friendly staff
Great location for this clean and efficient hotel. Staff was happy to help arrange a sightseeing day by making phone calls for dinner reservations and checking brewery tour times. Also provided numerous recommendations for museums, historical sights, and attractions all within walking distance. Great experience.
Could clearly hear the room the next door, room needs some maintenance with shower leaking on the floor, pillows not comfortable, good location to restaurants and not far from some shops etc.
great location and wonderful service Trevor was extremely helpful from giving us information to getting us a car
The Hotel was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for sight-seeing in the downtown area.
We stayed for 3 nights at the end of our touring holiday. Our last 2 nights were charged at only C$129.00 which is a bargain. The staff were great as they provided a brilliant service and were so friendly. I love downtown , the room was huge and very spotless. Even gave us new robes and slippers - such a nice place to go for a trip into Halifax - valet parking was quick despite the storm that weekend - only disappointment was the mix up on rates quoted on the weekend so the manager was kind to cut the rate ;)
Great location for downtown, enjoyed the spacious suite design of the rooms. Hotel staff was very accommodating and Ryan Duffy's is one of my favorite dining spots. Quiet and nice view of the Harbour.

The rooms were a bit dated and I have never been a fan of sleep number beds, they are not very comfortable.
When we pulled out the sofa bed (which was very uncomfortable) there were cherrios on the bed and underneath it. I went looking for a tylenol for a headache around 11 pm and was told I could get one at Shoppers on Spring Garden about a 1/2 walk away.
Great location, very comfortable bed.

The hotel is in a perfect location for Downtown Halifax, which is in fact only a small area.We got a great price for the hotel.Check in was very quick and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was a suite with a seperate lounge and bedroom. The room was very clean, although it could do with modernisation. We used the pool and jacuzzi a... more

The room was very spacious, very clean, a nice big comfortable bed.
The staff was very friendly and very attentive. Location of the hotel was great, you could walk anywhere in downtown Halifax.

The only thing I didn't like was that the duvet was not covered by a sheet on both sides.
Very spacious

Didn't get shampoo one day another day didn't replenish coffee (just a minor annoyance) but front desk staff was helpful.
Staff was super nice and went out of their way to help. Hotel convenient, right down town. Rooms not perfect and could use some upgrades but spacious and do the trick. Good value.
The rooms were spacious and the desk staff accormodated our request for a water view. The check in is a little tricky as the entrance is on a main street with little room to park to unload luggage. The Bell staff was great in this respect. The location is so convenient that once the valet took our car we really didn't need it until check out..
It was close to the Boardwalk and to Pier One and other Harbour attractions. The central location made it easy to walk to the attractions and to relax on the boardwalk.
Tres bien situe dans le vieux port la courtoisie du personnel
The suite was lovely and had a great view of the harbor, which was bustling with the Buskers' Festival. The restaurant offered excellent service and food.
Locatio Location
Older hotel- renovated /clean
The only comment that we have........gentleman at desk was only able to reccomend 1 restaurant around corner. Didn't know until next am that hotel had restaurant which was very nice.

Great location not a far walk too the water front .
The suite was comfortable , we enjoyed the sauna and pool!

Waiting 30 minutes for valet parking to bring up our vehicle in the
morning! And housekeeping banging on the door when I had told front desk
I was checking out at noon. Our granddaughter also complained she was
cold during the night sleeping on the pull out sofa!
Big rooms!! Big beds! Really nice! Bath-tub! Yes!

It is not the "newest" hotel, furniture from the early 90s or something, but the space, comfort and service makes up for that! I had a great stay.
View from 8th floor of Harbor was very good. Some amenities complimentary (water, tea, coffee).

Suite had some wasted space that could be utilized better (kitchenette & dining room table area).
The decor is in need of a MAJOR overhaul -- looks like old lady's apartment, circa 1965!Air conditioning didn't work on a very humid night. I complained to front desk and they gave me a new room, but same problem with AC. (Same ugly furniture also). Avoid this place and go somewhere else -- you can do much better!
Stayed at the Radisson for New Year's eve. The hotel is nice for the most part, however the room wasn't so much. The lamps were in that midway point between dodgy and just fail, there was scrapes out of the drywall from chairs, and the fan in the boardroom didn't work.
On the positive side though, HUGE suite for a good price. Bedroom was big, living room was big and did I mention it had a...

For a recent girls night out we booked two suites at the Radisson. First off, I have to say the staff here are very friendly. Even when we needed a little reminder to keep down the noise the security guard was nice about it!
I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the large suites. The layout includes a spacious washroom and bedroom separate from a generous seating area. In fact, the seating...

My two friends and I went to St. F.X.U. together and haven't gotten together since 1987 at one of their weddings. This weekend we met in Halifax (Halifax was central for us as we live in Toronto, Moncton and Sydney) for the weekend and stayed at the Radisson. What an awesome hotel! We had two suites ... each was only $100 a night with two queen beds (the beds have a control so you can configure... more
The people were very nice and helpful. The restaurant was excellent.
Rat-ta-tat-tat-- here are some comfy accommodations to parallel with downtown adventures. Located smack in the middle of Hollis Street, the Radisson seems to be a popular stay for the urbanites at heart.Clubs, restos and retail abound-- the assured location offers draw. For folks who love the city buzz and on-the-go mentality, this would be an ideal place to arrange accommodations. However,... more
I love the radisson downtown Halifax, the room is nice and big with seperate area for a living space ( tv, couch and even a small table to eat plus a stocked mini bar!) everything you need is already in your hotel room, from drinks to snacks! They have the sleep number beds in most of their rooms which are comfy and fun to play with, (up and down) little things amuse me. Radisson is diffently... more
Holy massive room, Batman! They aren't kidding when they say "suite," the room we stayed at consisted of a small kitcheny area, living/sitting room, bedroom, large double-sinked bathroom, and even a wee breakfast nook. We could have fit Canada's army in here. (I kid because I love!) It was definitely a good experience and we really had no problems at all. The only qualm I have is that... more
Nice location. Friendly staff. Comfortable, spacious rooms. Dining options left a little to be desired, though.
Most everything was great, very little we didn't like during our last visit. Location was great... if you want to be in the middle of everything.
I would like to single out Meaghan Delaney who gave me excellent service...she deserves to be recognized for her excellent client skills. The rooms were tastefully decorated and the beds A+..breakfasts had many choices..
A real Radisson Hotel! Nice suite, sleep number bed, in room coffee, mini bar, microwave etc... free breakfast. all this for a nice price
I think it was one o fthe best hotels i have ever been to. Could us a better pool but over all it was very satisfying.
I liked it because it was fun and kid friendly!and the pools and everything was just great! The suites are great everything is!I liked this hotel better than the other my favourite hotel
“When booking the room on the phone all the way to checking out, the staff were helpful and friendly. This was the first time I had stayed in this hotel, and now I don't want to stay anywhere else. Great location located right above East Side Mario's. Great comfortable rooms and atmosphere. Continental breakfast was delicious. Also, the pool, hot tub and workout area were also very nice. Staff were all very service oriented and warm. Everyone went the extra step to make our stay memorable. The rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable. Linens were soft and the towels big and fluffy. The room layout blocked hallway sounds. And the views to the harbor 2 blocks away were divine.
It has very good location close to water front.
