This Hotel was near the Burrard street Bridge, in what they call the heart of downtown Vancouver. It was quiet, and we had nice views.

We have just returned from a 7 night stay and would like to say that this is an excellent hotel. We decided to book the suite and we got a very large room that contained a living area with a large TV, fully fitted kitchen with fridge/freezer, bathroom and bedroom with 2 large double beds.

The room was very clean and serviced every day. We booked direct with the hotel and got the room for $731... more

This hotel is like being transported to the 80's with its old school outer facade and room design. The standard room has two full beds and no queen bed options - which is a disappointment for couples like myself and my fiancée.

Once you get past the physical appearance of the hotel, the rest of it isn't bad. The staff are attentive in helping you get around the city and the rooms are kept very... more

I was impressed by the quality of the service, the friendly, helpful and cheerful attitude of the staff, and the decor and facilities in the hotel. I thought that it was excellent value for money - in fact I would have thought it was good value even had it been twice the price I paid.

I saw this hotel via Living Social. We decided to stay here while we were in Vancouver. We made a huge mistake. Although our experience was consistent with most of the reviewers on Yelp, this place has serious problems with their cleanliness. We found hair (human hair) in our towels! I wouldn't recommend it for a business trip. But for a casual stay, it would be fine.

PROS:
The staff is wonderful. They are all friendly and helpful: from the front desk, restaurant staff, housekeeping, IT to management they could not have been more wonderful.

They have free wi-fi (but see my comments below)

May 31, 2011

All in all I would recommend the hotel for people that absolutely want to stay in the downtown area, are willing to pay a premium for the location and don't expect a high standard. This place isn't going to win any design awards.

My companion's comment: "I really like that there are two different types of fake masonry going on here. There are fake bricks on one wall and fake bathroom tile on another. The popcorn ceiling really ties it all together."

Quality Hotel Downtown Review
January 01, 2011

The Quality Hotel Downtown was a decent hotel and served its purpose. It was clean, and just off the main strip of Granville. It was slightly spendy for the quality of rooms. I dig this place.

Hotels are a sticky subject; what might be a palace to some may be pauper digs to others. So, with that being said, here's my criteria for a decent hotel:

- Free wi-fi.
- Space to put multiple bags/luggage easily without breaking or stubbing your toes.
- Cleanliness.
- Bed quality.
- Front desk hospitality.
- Quiet factor.
- Price
- How close it is to everything.

So how did... more

Great place, but a little over
May 30, 2010

Great place, but a little over priced, would have thought perhaps $40 less would have been appropriate. This is a self-described "boutique hotel", but I didn't feel that vibe. It was more of a basic type of hotel, not that that's a bad thing. Convenience and good value
July 31, 2009

Although rooms did show a little wear and tear the accommodations were clean & comfortable. The bed sheets were high quality. Compares to Motel 8, at a high price....
May 30, 2009

The Hotel is showing lots of wear, needs maintenance/painting and cleaning, no transportation to airport/cruise ships/ no complementary breakfast. Has nothing to offer and several blocks to restaurants/shopping. And overpriced $130.00 and up per night is high for an ordinary hotel. No view of the City, you either look at overpass bridge or alley and apartments.

Great value downtown!
April 22, 2009

The hotel is next to a highway so if you want a quiet room, ask for one that faces inwards. The downside is that there is no view in this direction, all you can see are residential buildings and a parking lot. There are also no close dining options nearby except a Tim Hortons and 7-eleven, but Yaletown restaurants and grocery stores are a short walk (10-15 minutes) away.

Once I Got to the Room . . .
