Favourite place to stay in Winnipeg

Hotel is really nice and clean inside. The rooms are huge, with a small kitchen, separate bedroom, small living room area and a fairly large bathroom. I really like the decor and look of the rooms, and they are always completely spotless. Don't think I've ever heard a single noise from the hallway while sitting inside.

Great hotel Overlooking Mountains

Really enjoyed this hotel which provided magnificent views of the mountains and ocean. Would definitely go back with the family again. Went in November but didn't need our heavy coats as the winters are quite mild.

Stayed here for the week of Christmas and everything was perfect. The kitchen was great for our Christmas supper. Covered parking with no hassles and perfect location to explore Winnipeg in all directions. On 22nd floor and the views were amazing. I live in Vancouver and I came to visit my 91 year old mom in her senior's home.

Our experience at the hotel was excellent. I understand they undertook a major refurbishing awhile ago, and it shows. Our room was wonderful. It was attractive and everything worked. We were with family who had various rooms throughout the hotel and while different, they were all terrific. We will be visiting Winnipeg occasionally and intend to stay at the Louis Reil.

This was our first night hotel on our June air/train trip to Canada. The hotel set the tone for our entire trip. The hotel was clean and quite. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great. It made our stay in Winnipeg very enjoyable.

The hotel was very nice. It was easy to get in and out. The staff was great. The room was very comfortable. You have to pay to park but it was secure.

Place Louis Riel Suite Hotel is a Fantastic Stay

I and two friends recently stayed at this hotel for the first time. I have stayed at many other hotels in Winnipeg and this is by far the best. The suite was big and made it very easy for the three of us to enjoy each other's company and stay out of each other's way. “The room smelt bad, was very dated, advertised a pool facility, however, the pool was in a different building 3 blocks away and you had to pay to use it. The gym facility was an old hotel room, with the furniture removed still having the bathroom and kitchen in it.”

A truly great hotel

An outstanding hotel on the whole. Maybe the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in - firm underneath but luxurious padding on top. Spacious, well-appointed suite. Helpful staff.I had room service twice. First a good tuna salad; then a very disappointing half rack of ribs with caesar salad and baked potato. The potato was by far the best thing.

A Wonderful Experience

Super location downtown, although rooms facing east face a rather unseemly senior citizen/public housing high rise. Ask for the west view with a great view of the city and Legislative building. Pleasant surprise

This hotel is not new but they had a multi-million dollar facelift and accommodations are now fabulous. Contemporary decor, new leather furnishings, marble counter tops, stainless steel fridge and stove. Spacious kitchen facilities add to the package at the same price as a smaller hotel room. Free wireless, inexpensive room service. All around great place

This was a great experience! The hotel was amazing and the staff was too. Everything we possibly could have needed was within walking distance and the staff was very helpful in helping us find it all. I highly recommend this hotel if you are going to stay in Winnipeg!

It was good to have a kitchen facility, especially when we have previously stayed with grandchildren in a one or two bedroom suite.”

Home away from Home

We had a very comfortable stay and loved the All Suite. The hotel room is clean, modern and very spacious. We enjoyed having a kitchen area; including a fridge and stove. The location is down town and close to all amenities, perfect if you are attending a concert at the MTS center. We will definetly stay here again!

I was pleasantly surprised staying at Place Louis Riel. After reading reviews I was concerned, but the Hotel was sold in 2006 and the new company is updating it. the Hotel is non smoking and guest floor hallways and rooms are brand new. Though all rooms are very good, the luxury suites have it made! Truely worth the highest rating.
