Although I write the review being a vegetarian, my boyfriend is not, and we got a full range of foods from the menu. Most of the menu are pintxos, or small plates, where you and your companions can pick and share from. The waiters will tell you 4-5 plates each person is recommended, but 3-4 is more than... plus

I was told to be one of the best tapas in Mtl but for me it was just regular. I agree that they have a great variety of food but the portions were definitely too small, 3 bites max for each tapas. Yes average plate prize is 5 to 8$ but u have order around 10 plates to satisfy your stomach. And since the place is very small, tables are very close to one another so not fit for an intimate dinner

Love tapas and this is the place that comes to mind when I develop a craving. I've tried tapas in many different places, large and small. Pintxo is the restaurant by which I measure others.

After reading so many good reviews of Pinxto on Yelp, I made a reservation for 2 on a Saturday night. The waitress recommended sharing 4-5 small pinxtos (portion is smaller than a tapa) and 1 main course to share between the two of us. Best dinner with my mom, ever

Me and my mom reserved through their website. Our arrival was very pleasing! The big fireplace in the entrance was very welcomed as it was a freezing evening outside! This is another great find in my neighborhood. They serve small portions of many different dishes. It's kind of like tapas, but this is the Basque version of tapas. This was for our 30th wedding anniversary.

For a very nice neighborhood restaurant, the price was more than reasonable for the service, food and character. My brother and I both got the chef's choice degustation menu where you get four tapas + main dish for C$38. Everything we got surpassed our expectations. Great variety in small plates, particularly the seafood options. Was not as thrilled with the main course so would order all small plates the next time. Dining room is a bit dated and the lights flickered a few times but it didn't affect our enjoyment. Would recommend to friends.

A really neat experience! Small sharable plates that are very intricate in flavour. They suggest ordering 8 but we were full after sharing 5 of them. Our favs: smoked duck tartare and octopus/calamari. We really disliked the mushroom/escargot plate.

Let's be straightforward, it is not a tapas restaurant. Can you really call yourself a Spanish or Basque tapas restaurant if the dishes can not be shared, there are no olives, and potatos are not a menu option? Yes the food is good, nice presentation and relaxing ambiance, but overpriced. We spent $30 each for the equivalent of an appetizer and a glass of wine. Our exceptions were not met, and... plus

We reserved a week ahead for 8 people. I got the Bison Ribs, the Venison, the half quail and the beef cheeks, and everything was perfectly prepared, perfectly plated, and tasted amazing. Our waiter was very nice, and even let me know that it would take slightly longer for my plates to get to the table since i'd ordered all meat, which was fine by me! And man was it worth the wait. Best tapas I've ever had. We go here for our anniversary every year and each time leave in awe at how good the food was. I usually get the combo meal that comes with chef choice tapas and lamb. It's unbelievably good. My girlfriend gets the steak and says it's the best steak she's ever had. The tapas are so unique that you'll be trying flavours you've never had before. Pinch-hitter Pintxo hits a home-run with Basque-influenced small plates along with smartly selected Spanish wines.

A fair sized, intelligent selection of Spanish wine from various regions with most glasses between $8-12, dating mostly from '08 to '10 for the reds (with 08/09 being very good vintage years) is likely to please a wide range of palates.

Spectacular food, service and ambiance. After being turned away initially at the door for a table sans reservations [book in advance!], I returned an hour later.

Every so often, you find yourself at a cross-roads.
On one hand, you want to keep it a secret because you worry about not being able to get a seat at your favourite table. On the other hand, you want to shout from the rooftops that "EAT HERE!!! IT IS AMAZING!!", because no one should ever have a bad meal.

We love Pintxo and it's wonderful menu of pintxos (it's Basque, not Spanish). The beef cheek was ever so tender. And the Foie Gras is always wonderful and melts in your mouth. The service may be slow and the only reason that I didn't rate higher. It really is as good as it gets, if they can get it to your table more consistently.

1st time was an average experience. You pay for what you get: quite expensive for average tapas. 2nd experience was awful. My bf made a reservation more than 3 weeks in advance for 8 people, which was made on the phone with a real person. The D day, we were refused at the door saying that my bf info was not "in the system"& nobody called us for any changement!! Be aware DIFFICULT TO MAKE... plus

Get the tasting menu. Totally worth it. My favorite restaurant in MTL.

Exceeded my expectations with nice selection of dishes. Pintxo serves refined Basque influenced small plates with some creative flair and culinary skill. Perhaps my most memorable dish was the scallop pintxo notable because the scallop was huge, maybe 3 inches across!

A diamond in the rough; tapas with a twist of originality. Simple decor, warm and welcoming atmosphere. The braised beef cheek a delight. Predominantly spanish winelist carefully assembled and well priced.
