Restaurant is in a great location overlooking the harbour. Nice outside tables and enjoyed a great breeze. Service and food was great. Enjoyed a fantastic cold lobster plate and a cold pint of Beach Chair. My wife and I would both recommend this restaurant.
Ate here on our way to see Anne of Green Gables the Musical. Quick and friendly service. Steak and fries were fab. I'm fascinated that glasses of wine come by weight ( i.e 6 oz) rather than mls.
Nice atmosphere and got a table outside. Perfect location.
Good mussels and drinks on the deck on a sunny afternoon. Service fast and polite, food good and drinks cold
We ate there twice!! Fun people!! Slow service the first time there...they lost our order...with 3 kids...not good! Second time there service was better!! Food was good! Views are the best!! Overlooking the harbour!
I went to this restaurant for the first time with a group of 9 for an early dinner. I had the special which was lobster fettuccine. There was no lobster in the dish and it was very bland. Service was okay. There were not many patrons in the restaurant so there was a number of servers standing around together chatting... more
I had heard a lot of great things about Peakes Quay during the summer time and all of those things came true. Peakes is a great place to have some fun and meet new people. If you are looking to unwind and just have a few drinks to relax make sure you get there early before the massive crowd rolls... more
Get a table on the patio over looking the docks and enjoy a cold beer. Don't expect too much from the menu, it's your typical pub grub. If you want a better dining experience there are dozen of other nicer restaurants within a 5 minute walk but there do not have the excellent vantage point you will enjoy here.
9 of us came to Peakes for dinner. 6 had the steak and scallop special. 12 thumbs up. Cesar mussels for apps were beautiful. Fish'n chips are really good too. Christine waited on our table and was very attentive ,and friendly. Peakes quay is the real waterfront eatery in Charlottetown.
I have frequented this restaurant often and it has NEVER failed to satisfy! There salads are fresh and tasty! Lobster is, of course, mouthwatering! The service was Great!!! The view - BREATHTAKING!!! If you like the ocean view, this is one of our Island Restaurants you should visit - located right on the water - you can sit and enjoy... more
We sat on the patio of this quayside restaurant and it had a great outlook over the harbour. It would have been a great place to sit and have a few beers either before or after dinner however, we decided to have dinner here also. This was the mistake. The menu was ok, pretty typical for this kind of place... more
We met 4 friends here for a bite and some drinks before a concert. The patio is really large and I've been here before a few years ago and remembered how nice it was. The wine was pricey for the size of the glass but the food was pretty good and decent value. I had fish cakes and salad and... more
Let's start with the location. It doesn't get better that this. Sitting outside listening to a band below watching the boats. Having a perfectly made mojito and eating lobster. Service was great. My vegan friend found options as well and the server suggested a specialty wrap. Perfect for her.
Enjoyed the personal attention and the lobster was superb. I would...

We went to this restaurant after seeing Canada Rocks at the Confederation Centre of the arts and we both had the Fish & Chips and we both agree they were the worst Fish & Chips ever.
The batter was quite thick and full of oil. I remove the batter and ate the fish but without the batter it was very...

It's a too bad this restaurant doesn't offer better food than it does for the price. It's not that the food is bad but people could get a better bang for their buck elsewhere. I had 6 wings and that's what I got.....not even a carrot or celery stick. Grandson got Chicken Fingers, they were fine but the fries aren't... more
We went for dinner with some friends while visiting Charlottetown from Ontario. The patio is spacious and has a wonderful view! If it weren't for the patio, I would probably choose another restaurant over this one in the future. I had nachos for dinner, which were good, but there wasn't anything special about them. Also, the draught beer selection was... more
Was there on July 1, 2014 (Canada Day) extremely busy place, but they worked their buns off! Great food and fast service. I've eaten here last year and wasn't impressed. They must have gotten a new chef and he/she is their doing a great job! I'll be back.
They have a great patio looking over the bay. They have a $20 cold lobster dinner that includes potato salad and coleslaw as your sides. They have buckets of 5 beers for $20. The service is good. What's not to like!?
Staff was friendly, food was great, location can't be beat! Portions were a little big in my opinion. (ordered an app for myself and another person plus our meals and didn't end up touching our meals the app was so big)
Beautiful place to sit and enjoy a relaxing meal.
Just be aware of what you are ordering - I had coconut shrimp and that's all I got - 6 shrimp for almost $20.00! One friend wanted to substitute potatoe skins for fries and they charged an additional $5.00.
Great atmosphere - we sat outside which has a nice view!
Food was good - nothing amazing, but I would return!
How can anyone muck up "fish and chips"? The fish must have been about the thickness of a newspaper and had loads of greasy breading on all sides. It was over-priced and barely edible. It was a nice view, but not worth the dining experience and expense.
The three of us had lunch there after the conclusion of a cruise ship tour. The weather was unbelievably nice that day (REALLY sunny and clear) so we sat outside. The upper patio has a really nice view of the harbor, and was quite enjoyable. Loved it! Service was average; we all thought the food was good. My fish and... more
I never actually ate at Peakes, but I spent two nights in a row clubbing here while visiting PEI. The DJ was engaging and spun really great tunes all night long! I felt the second night was a little over capacity because you could hardly move on the dance floor or get from one side of the bar to the... more
We went there for lunch. This was our first restaurant in PEI. We both ordered fish and chips. We have had this habit of tatsing fish and chips from different places in the world (San Francisco, Victoria, BC, Tofino, BC, etc..) After 5 minutes, our order arrived. We thought, wow, what a fast service until we started eating. The fries... more
Although the location is fantastic - with views on the marina, the food was not up to great standards. My fish was dry and lobster tail just so-so - so sort of tasteless oil mixture for dipping. On the other hand, the service was very good. For our pleasure, we got serenaded by a local duo. There are much better... more
Just a few of the attributes of this downtown restaurant plus excellent cold lobster platter and lobster rolls.Bar height tables, stools, umbrellas for the sunny days -it was beautifully hot and welcoming. Very good value for money, pleasant and efficient, friendly service. Worth visiting the variety of shops below -including the PEI Dirt Shop, where you can get T-shirts, bags an,... more
Always wanted to eat here. Husband I were out on a date night had reservations at another restaurant and decided to cancel those to try Peakes.....
The lady serving us was a nice young girl. The rest of the staff seemed bored drinking Tim Hortons Coffee and drinking at the bar. I was shocked at this behavior but what do...

This place is quite a large bar n' grill located right along the harbor.
We stopped in for lunch and had a mix bag of reviews.
The lunch specials were ok - not great.
The nachos were decent.
The fries probably the best that we had eaten on the trip.
Price was ok - would probably go back.after.trying a few...

Very bad food, we had a pizza and to was not edible, my wife asked if it was a boxed pizza and the waiter was offended. We think any boxed pizza would be better. The view is excellent as was the beer.
This place has a great view on the deck and reasonably priced. The food was delicious and the portions were decent! Service was great and the location was perfect.
Visiting Charlottetown and walking around the wharf, we saw that this restaurant had outdoor dining. Quickly got seated for lunch. Husband had a lobster roll and I ordered the potato skins. Both were delicious. Enough potato skins for a group appetizer. Nice server.
I ended up at Peakes Quay when a power outage forced the restaurant where I had a reservation to close. I was walking around town looking for an alternative and came across Peakes Quay. I went upstairs and came across a busy scene, mostly families. I was given a choice of seating and chose a booth. The staff were friendly... more
We had 20 people enjoy a tasty lunch after a boat ride...they provided quick, friendly service and the food was good, too.
We finished off our anniversary trip to PEI with a stop in Charlottetown. Seeing a nice restaurant overlooking the water, we decided to try Peakes Quay for lunch. That was our first mistake. Unless you are looking for a few drinks and a nice view, I do not recommend coming here. Our server was nice enough, but she didn't seem... more
Love this place for the view especially on a sunny day. The food is good if not predictable. Would always go back just to take in the view.
A good evening as the sunset.. Excellent music, service (thank you Anita) and food. Relaxed summer evening
we enjoyed good lobster and delicious fish, good staff with a great sense of humor, and excellent location with a lovely view of the harbor. Live music a couple of times a day just below the restaurant. love it.
I'm currently in PEI for the first time in my life, here on family vacation. My folks suggested Peakes for dinner.
Located right on the Harbour, it has a great atmosphere about it. The place was booming and electric and, even in my tired state, I was optimistic.
We sat on the outdoor patio, overlooking the shops and musician below....

My family regularly visit PEI and this time we went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon in July. My daughter so wanted to show her boyfriend (his first visit to PEI) some of the places she had good memories about, Peakes Quay being one.

This place is very unique! The ambiance is fabulous and the food was well priced and very good. The day we were there was VERY hot, and there is no AC in this restaurant because of the open sides. It over looks the Marina. It would be a fun place to spend the evening.
Sat on the outside decking area with a great view over the harbour in the sunshine after a good walk around the town, enjoying a well deserved beer, we had the Peakes ale and the Moose ale to wind away the afternoon, all very pleasant.
Very good food - you do get what you pay for. Our entrée was huge and we couldn't finish our meals! Everything was delicious. Staff was nice but didn't speak very loud and spent a lot of time sitting down with a customer at another table... we wanted to stay for the night since it's supposed to be a nightclub... more
Sorry, other than the view and the band next door- this meal was awful. The lobster tail was rubber, potatoes inetable - and in PEI!, pork tenderloin not tender. All very bad - even the wine.
Nothing spectacular here... food is decent, service is decent - nothing spectacular. Sitting on the balcony with a view overlooking the harbour is the only plus.
We always stop here when we are in town. The view and scenery on the water can't be beat.
There is usually live music down below, which makes for a great atmosphere.
The breaded scallops were good, not the best ever-but the scenery and ambiance makes up for it!
Great view, great drinks-can't go wrong. You won't be disappointed.
Peakes Quay has a great deck, with tables overlooking the Charlottetown Harbour and many popular tourist shops...there is often live music playing in the park area below the restaurant. I make a point of eating there several times each summer. I find the service to fast and friendly and the food to be adequate, but not great. Our party of... more
Here due to a farewell party for a co-worker.
