This restaurant, nestled in the museum-like Auberge Saint-Antoine, has enchanting wooden floors and exposed beams from the building's warehouse days. Chef Jean-Francois Bédard has taken traditional French-Canadian cuisine and tweaked it for the modern palate. The menus change with the seasons, but you'll find candied duck legs or maple-glazed breast of duck any day. A family-owned farm supplies... plus
The restaurant of the superb Auberge St-Antoine is housed in a former 19th-century warehouse delineated by massive wood beams and rough stone walls. A wrought-iron staircase winds up to a second dining level, where tables feel like they're tucked into the eaves of a secret attic. A central glass fireplace, velvet couches, generous space between tables, and good acoustics enhance the inherent... plus
This is the Auberge Saint-Antoine's Relais & Châteaux restaurant, and it lives up to great expectations. The menu is a carefully curated list of French and Québecois dishes with a good sampling of traditional stalwarts, like a foie gras appetizer and an entrée of pan-roasted venison soaked in truffle sauce. Chef François Blais also has a way with lighter dishes: Look for marinated sea scallops... plus
Loved our dinner experience here. We got the full tasting menu, plus the optional wine pairing that went with it. More than half the wines were very sweet but they paired exceptionally well with every dish.
Every course was delicious and they came at a perfect pace. We thought we'd never be "full" after this meal, but we were thoroughly stuffed by the end.

I came to Panache not expecting much. Instead, I found an outstanding restaurant were the service was excellent and the food superb. It was one of the best meals that I have eaten this year. Bravo,
Panache! You made my visit to Quebec City a memorable one. Merci beaucoup!!!
Is there anything closer to perfection?
All food served during the summer season is locally growned. The waiter knew where all ingredients were coming from and they were all from the Quebec area, 1 or 2 hous drive tops.
The decoration is wonderfull, a mix of chic and classy.
I would recomend this restaurant to anyone who's looking for a great food experience. It's not only about food, but also...

We went here for dinner last night and were really impressed. Beautiful setting with magnificent food. It is not all that often you come across a restaurant where each course is as strong as the other (often disappointed by one), but not here. Highly recommended.
The service is impeccable here as you can imagine. We were seated outside which was nice on a warm and dry August evening.
The amuse-bouche which was fried sting ray, was absolutely delicious. Their complementary dessert was amazing too. Their main courses however were just okay. The foie gra was delicious but I'm not sure if the ginger crisp that came with it paired well. The smoked monkfish...

Price aside, this is dining perfection. The food was consistently inventive and exquisitely presented. The service was exceptionally attentive and friendly. The decor was modern yet cozy.
We embarked on a three hour, three course dining journey with wonderfully paired wines suggested by a talented sommelier. I'm under the impression the dishes change often, so I won't go into detail of "try...

I just dropped almost $300.00 on dinner for two and I couldn't be happier. Money well spent.
I'm trying to find a flaw but everything was perfect. Absolutely perfect. Starting with my salad which had a dressing I'd like to write a song about. OMG, it was off the charts. Next came the beef tenderloin which was as tender as a piece of fish. Fork tender and full of flavor.

Exceptional! This restaurant needs to be your #1 stop if you're headed to Quebec City and looking for an unbelievable dining experience. My friend and I loved our three course $20 p/p lunch so much that we returned for Sunday brunch (on Easter no less) and it didn't disappoint. This 200+ year old building's interior is picturesque and so is every dish that will be put before you. I had the... plus
I'm between a 3.5 and a 4! We recently spent a week in Quebec celebrating my husband's birthday and our tenth anniversary. I'd read multiple reviews and made a reservation for new years eve lunch (months in advance). Service was above par, but not memorable for a restaurant of this caliber. For a French restaurant - I initially felt rushed into making a selection. The sommelier was helpful when... plus
Gorgeous restaurant. Amazing food. Friendly service.
The exposed hundreds-of-years-old stone and beam construction is breathtaking, and it's juxtaposed by elegant, if not accessible decor and romantic lighting. The fantastic views of the river and city don't hurt either.
The service was attentive, friendly, and more than helpful - with fluent use of English as needed.
The food was creative and...

My first five star review ever and so well deserved. We live in New York City and this was the best meal we've had in a while. Wow wow wow.... what a beautiful, elegant, and cozy dinner we had here... Refined yet down to earth atmosphere... Perfect lighting...Stunning champagne... gorgeous, fresh, seasonal dishes.... my family only eats plant based cuisine and they had no issue offering us an inventive and lovely flight of dishes... Thank you to the kind staff for your hospitality and talent
First off, the restaurant is beautiful. Warm, cozy and elegant. I loved being in the space. And judging from other reviews I had pretty high expectations for the food. But overall, I found the food very good but it didn't blow me away. Had a delicious turnip app which was the highlight of the meal. For my main I had the lobster pot which was crazy expensive but tasted pretty ordinary. Dessert... plus

Most reviewers talk about dinner at Panache, but I was more impressed with breakfast. Normally, that's not a very romantic time of day for me, because I'm usually so intent on flagging down the waitress for a 6th cup of coffee that I don't even notice the person sitting across the table. (Sorry,...

Excellent. The sweetbreads were amazing, and very big portions. The steak was very tasty. The building rustic and tables far apart so not noisy. I have been dreaming of the sweetbreads!
We dined the first night at Panache in our hotel, Auberge Saint Antoine, and it was the best dinner we had in Quebec City! The restaurant is in the very old, but renovated warehouse facing the river. Great food! The breakfast has an option between ordering off the menu and eating at the buffet. The view is incredible and there are so many different seating options.
We stay auberge 3 days. Place is charming and stylish. I had breakfast everyday and dinner last day . I impressed wine coupling was interesting and great selection. Excellent location, menu, and wine selection. I had the lobster pot and it was fabulous. Wonderful interaction with the staff.
Best meal I have had in a long time but very expensive. I recommend the lobster pot. I had turnips as an appetizer with cheese and it was also a winner. Wines in the $100 range and up.
This restaurant is located in the Auberge St Antoine Hotel, which is a very nice hotel. Panache is very cozy with large wooden exposed beams, wooden floors and lots of charm. Every morsel, interaction with the staff, touch of decor, etc., etc. is top notch. Such an elegant dining yet comfortable experience!
Since we arrived Friday afternoon and were staying right there at Saint Antoine's we dined at Panache. We, a party of eight were divided equally to those repeat visitors and us "newbies." This restaurant is expensive, and it is worth it. The space itself is a 200 year old converted barn, and still bears the original beams and stone walls. We ate breakfast here both mornings of our stay. The crepes and the French toast were so incredible! The French toast was caramelized! Never had anything like it! Dinner was one to remember! Breakfast here is excellent. My wife and I ate here three mornings. "The Panache" is poached eggs with duck. Beware - it is a feast. Many other good selections. Excellent setting inside or out. Excellent service.
The food and service incredible. I had the lobster special which was so tasty melted in your mouth. My husband had the lamb very tender, but you do have to remember portions are very very small so he would have enjoyed more than 1 baby lamb chop.
I had great expectations from the reviews. Was looking forward to their lunch but they only serve brunch on Sat. and Sun. This was good but the service a bit slow.
Our dinner at Panache was excellent. The restaurant is beautiful and comfortable. The sommelier was very helpful and informative. Each course was delicious and beautifully presented. Lovely foie gras, beef filet, lamb, and desserts. We also enjoyed some of the best breakfasts we've ever had.
Special occasion without special service.
This restaurant is extremely beautiful and provides great ambiance. The menu is very limited but the food we had was excellent. However, this level of food can be had in many other restaurants for half the price.

wine sommelier super cool and knowledgeable.
We came here after Chicago - Alinea and moto, so our expectations were high. The tasting menu at Panache was therefore highly contrasting,,,,rustic if you will. A nice experience none the less, but we believe a little over priced.
I was hoping to write that Panache was the highlight of my dining experiences in Quebec. Unfortunately, it was the low point. I wish I'd read the negative reviews before I booked here. Many times bad reviews are isolated experiences or the opinions of high maintenance or novice diners. But the reviews were spot-on.

Attentive service and a diverse and flavorful menu in a quiet elegant yet comfortable environment. Lamb Two Ways was prepared nicely and the chocolate desert was tasty. This was our second visit to this restaurant. The food is great, staff is knowledgeable, friendly and polite, the atmosphere is warm and cozy. We will definitely come back.
Great food. The wine pairings were a bit over prized compared to the food. The toilet on second floor (one room was over frequented and could have been cleaned during the evening. The food was outstanding and compensated for everything.
A glass of wine and a delicious dinner by the fire was a wonderful way to start our vacation in Quebec City. Two-foot stone walls framed the view through the window of lightly falling snow outside. Attentive service. Sommelier was willing to suggest less expensive alternative than his first choice. Good bilingual service. Offered English or French menu. Very nice restaurant for a special occasion, or any occasion if you enjoy gourmet dining in a special setting.

Positives: great service, a beautiful dining room, tasty food. Unfortunately, ultimately neither the food nor the wine was as good as the prices would have you believe. $300+ for two people sharing one bottle of decent wine, no cocktails, with appetizers, mains and one dessert? No, for that price the food needs to be spectacular, not just tasty.
We were in Quebec for our 25th wedding anniversary and couldn't have picked a more wonderful place for a romantic night out. We ate dinner here back in May and had lunch during our most recent trip during Winter Carnival. This is a FANTASTIC restaurant all around! Beautiful, fancy menu, great service, and exceptional food from start to finish.
Lives up to its reputation. Great food, very creative. The encrusted monkfish, seen in the picture, was flaky and flavorful. Best part was the monkfish reduction sauce which had amazing depth of flavor and reminded me of a really good lobster bisque.
I had dinner at Panache on Saturday night February 8. I recommend making reservations well in advance for a Saturday. The only time available three days in advance was 9pm. Amazing. Easily as good as the best restaurant we have dined in from the beautiful space built in an old harbor side warehouse to the perfect service to the amazing cuisine. The pictures speak for themselves. . .

Overall a superb experience which I'd repeat any time!
Had a fabulous meal and experience. Both my husband and I found our meals exceptionally creative and among the most delicious we've ever had. Absolutely fantastic. From all aspects, we truely had a wonderful experience. The menu which changes by season is incredible and the food amazing. Romantic, quiet setting. Attentive, knowledgeable staff, an extensive wine menu. A very lovely dining experience.
Great ambience and carefully prepared dishes--though I wonder if hanging on to the "froth" revolution of about 8 years ago really makes sense any longer. Sit downstairs...comfortable and romantic with fire setting in the middle.
Only one vegetarian dish--5 stalks of asparagus on our night, with nasturtiums. $38CAN. That's almost $9US per stalk, and that's the cheapest item on the menu....

After reading the amazing reviews on yelp, my fiancée and I decided to splurge on a "great" meal at Panache during our visit to Quebec City back in August of this year. BIG MISTAKE! First of all, the server was unpleasant. He didn't do a good job in explaining the menu, nor did he inform us of the specials for that night. What was more disappointing was the food. The food was not on par... plus
Given the rave reviews on Yelp, it seems difficult to give Panache anything but 5 stars because it seems like that is the rating everyone is giving. The best part is the atmosphere IMO. It is beautiful and we loved it. The service was good and attentive. It may be that our palates are not refined enough, but I didn't find the food amazing. We had a wonderful time there, loved the hotel, loved... plus
This place has a fantastic reputation, but did not meet our expectations at all. It has a nice atmosphere, and the service was good, but not Quebec friendly, although the sommelier was great and chose a superb wine, the highlight of the meal. I am trying to recall what we had for entrees, but must say that the main course was so devastatingly disappointing that it wiped out all other memories... plus
The four of us had the Special Menu, and the Chef actually added two more courses. The combination of tastes and textures were amazing. Service was impeccable. I promise, your $300+ per couple meal will be memorable - but not just for it's cost.
If you can, get to the restaurant an hour or so early - and have a drink (their Maple Martini is a drink that they're proud of and was perfect,...

For once all the raving reviews are true. This is certainly a jewel of a restaurant. First the location is unique in itself: at the heart of old quebec city. Then the atmosphere and cosy/upscale yet simple decoration. The staff: helpful and knowledgeable. And... most importantely, the food: creative, flavorful, cooked to perfection. Even breakfast served there reaches (nearly) perfection. If... plus
Panache was in our hotel and got amazing reviews on all of the sites. It was definitely top notch. We decided to go with the 5 course tasting menu that was really 9 courses. The service was impeccable. They altered items on the tasting menu for our liking and made an excellent wine selection (without pushing for the $300 bottle). They offer indoor and outdoor patio seating. It was such a nice... plus
Panache offered a great experience on a recent trip to Quebec City. The decor and ambiance of the place is worth a trip alone, in an old fishing warehouse (I believe). The warm atmosphere of the place set the tone for a special dinner, and the restaurant lived up to that expectation.
Every course of the dinner was great and the staff helped us pick a great wine. The service was attentive and...

Amazing, expensive meal worth every cent. The place is some perfect mish-mash between an old, rock-hewn hunting lodge and a modern sleek glass hotel. Makes no sense? But it does. It's beautiful and cozy, dark rock walls and light comfy banquettes and a glass fireplace, off-center of the wrought-iron staircase in the middle of the room. We went for the tasting menu and were able to try six... plus
My husband selected this restaurant after much research and positive reviews found on the internet and the place does not disappoint. It's expensive but truly one of the most wonderful meals we've had in a while. We went "a la carte" and selected the foie gras, sweetbreads and venison followed by a cheese variety at the end. To die... everything was fantastic. The ambiance is superb, charming... plus
In a city of wonderful food options, eating here is still a particular joy. Service is impeccable and the menus are intelligent and extensive. The historic charm of the stone and wood beams with some modern fixtures creates a unique ambiance. I will return almost without a doubt during any future visit to QC!
I had the privilege of dining here each morning for 6 days. The weather was warm, the food perfectly portioned, gourmet and fresh - a true gastronomic experience. Had the crepes, poached eggs, French toast, and the House Benedict (eggs, spinach, duck and a homemade hollandaise). The bread was homemade, whole grain with house preserves. Everything was completely on point with only the... plus
Definitely one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. I had very high expectations for the food here; that seems only fair considering the prices. I notified the staff in advance that my husband was gluten-intolerant and Vegan, and they went to extra lengths to create a gourmet feast that met those requirements. They even brought out freshly-made gluten-free rolls for him, in spite of the... plus
Panache is outstanding! One of the best (high-end) meals we have enjoyed in Canada, and one of the top 10 restaurants we have ever had the pleasure of visiting.
Panache is definitively "the best of the best."
The decor is gorgeous and quaint. Two floors, very quiet and intimate, old charming building with high celiings and spectacular wood beams. Great ambiance!
Service was outstanding....

I had big expectations and they were met.
Warm and great service
-the maitre d' brought a pillow for my pregnant wife without us saying anything and the waiter made sure we didn't have a show to attend to.
The decor is unique and charming.
-The beautiful old brick and wood supports were perfectly blended with the modern "banquettes" and foyer.
We had the Signature Menu (a 6 service delight)...

The food at Panache did not disappoint. We split the duck which my husband pronounced to be the best duck he has ever eaten. Our appetizers were also very good as were the amuse bouche. I wish we'd left room for dessert. The ambiance was great and I am glad we chose to sit inside despite being offered a seat on the patio. The sophisticated hunting lodge decor really sets the mood. My only... plus
Went here for our tenth anniversary dinner and it was excellent. It was a Thursday so the prix fixe menu was served.
We were staying at the hotel and the next morning I asked about our restaurant bill, because it seemed like we were charged for 4 of the dinners, not 2. Turns out we were, and the managers could not have been more contrite. The overcharge was immediately refunded.
My absolute favorite hotel restaurant. The bar has been set. I stayed in Quebec City for four days and I ate breakfast here on three of them.
One day I had the panna cotta with pineapple, pear slices and pistacios. Incredible presentation. The Quebec strawberries were the best strawberries I've ever had. The crepes I had another day were perfect, fresh and rich but a maple syrup that wasn't...

VG atmosphere. Very slow service that seemed a result of the kitchen instead of wait staff. A lot of staff, but a bit disorganized. Small, expensive portions. Average rating. Maybe 4 or 5 star some time back, but cannot recommend. Me thinks they rest on their laurels and stopped trying.
This place is fantastic. Incredible service in the cozy atmosphere of an old perfectly decorated early 19th century building. The sommelier was most helpful and guided us to the perfect wine to accompany our meal. Excellent foie gras.
This place is a must!

Designated one of the ten best new restaurants in the country in 2004 by En Route magazine (arbiters of Canadian good taste), Panache shows every sign of having a long and happy life. In July 2004, the Auberge Saint-Antoine opened a restaurant called Panache. This name reflects the elegance and distinction of an establishment that has rapidly gained an enviable reputation as one of the city's finest restaurants. In the first year, Panache won the city's Best New Restaurant award. Panache's dining room is located in the 19th century Hunt maritime warehouse, a building... plus
