Palki Indian Restaurant first opened the North Vancouver location in 2000 and has been serving loyal customers for the past 13 years.

The butter chicken was bland and the delivery driver lacked basic manners. I will not be returning.
I'm visiting Vancouver for holiday and I went there for dinner, great food and service too. My favorites are garlic naan and Beef curry and chicken tandoori and I recommend you all to order one at least.
With the closing of Maurya on the other side, these guys are clearly the nicest, classiest Indian restaurant in North Van.
Always been meaning to come here again but due to work objectives in trying as many as different restaurants, as well as it's all the way out here, but I digress.
We came here for a business meeting, and made a pact to not go for the buffet due to our early New Years...

Very very good. We have been here many times and the food and service are great. Once we overheard some UK tourists saying that before they left home they were told that Palki was a "must". So they bussed all the way there. The service is always great, everything hot and fresh. I have a vegan in my family that loves it since there are many vegan options that are absolutely perfect - I have them... more
While in Vancouver, my family and I went to Palki Best Indian Cuisine for lunch. As it turns out, their lunch offering was a buffet with salads, rice, assorted curry dishes, and tandoori chicken.
The food at Palki Best Indian Cuisine was good. The curries/stews were not unreasonably spicy, so I believe that most people would enjoy their lunch buffet. The service was okay, but there was room...

Very good authentic Indian cuisine!!! We started out with the vegetable pakoras and I had the eggplant Bhartha and naan. Yum! Delicious!!! I ordered mine mild-medium and it had a good kick to it! Service was good. Restaurant was modern and nicely decorated. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely go back:)
Won't go again ever. Although the cooks were talented, the staff made us (2 of us) feel as though they couldn't care less whether we were there or not. And, it was our anniversary! We had to ask for dinner napkins, we weren't done and the server came to take the plates away, and when the manager? owner? man brought us a second glass of wine each, he was so disinterested, he didn't bother to ask... more
Palki is the best Indian food on the north shore. The lunch buffet is a steal of a deal and offers everything you could want and more. I would recommend the palki for its hospitality and good quality and authentic food
Nothin about this place was authentic! We had takeouts from here twice! All we tasted was unflavoured cheap meat drowned in sauce, they call "curry". I am quite passionate about Indian food and it's disappointing that this place fails to put in the effort. So far, we ordered chicken vindaloo, chicken briyani and chicken korma. The breads were not bad but the food is despicable. You can... more
One of our regular stops when passing through Vancouver on the way to Whistler due to their convenient location off the TCH on the North side, ample parking and good food. A highlight is gluten-free roti bread! Worth keeping on your list of reliable cheap Indian joints.
Not bad, we'll actually visit it again for sure. I lived for over 7 years three minutes from this restaurant and just because I've always been a bit reluctant to the Indian curry (it's just about the taste and cultural difference, nothing else), I never went there. Big mistake! And it just happened I visited the rival Indian Fusion restaurant on Lonsdale sooner (and we liked it too).

Very quiet evening of public holiday with glorious weather found us in a virtually empty place. Not always a good sign but our host/owner was a delight. Entertaining and amusing
We are very familiar with Indian food so making a choice was not difficult and despite a vast amount of food I have to admit to a little gluttony -we...

It had been a while since I have had some good, tasty Indian food, and I was having a total craving from naan bread and curry sauce, so, based on a recommendation from a friend and the reviews on Yelp, I decided to have my work dinner meeting at the North Vancouver Indian restaurant, Palki on Lonsdale on Sunday evening.
The restaurant...

I love this place, good compitant service and delicious food. Never dissapointed her and really enjoy there chicken kebab dish.
My boyfriend and I went here on a date for the first time a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it. We will definitely be back for sure! Great staff! Amazing food
We usually order take out rather than dine in, but both are wonderful. Love the quality of the food which has always been good. Not the cheapest take out you'll find, but I feel it's good value for the money. However did try ordering online once - unfortunately no way of finding out when your order will be ready! So... more
I have eaten here for about 15 years. It is consistently excellent food. The key is the dishes each have a distinctive flavour and that is important for us. Too often in my experience Indian restaurants have many dishes that taste more or less the same. Service is very good and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is always... more
Great tasting curries, on of the best in the Vancouver area, best in North Vancouver. Great service from owner.
We've had takeout from Palki before, and in the past generally it has been good. This time, however, the butter chicken tasted a bit burned, and the pakora were dense and chewy, rather than light and crispy. It might be a while before we take our chances and order from Palki again.
On the more positive side, Palki always passes...

My mother and I always look forward to a meal at Palkis. The food is fantastic and you feel so good afterwards.
Overall a good north Indian restaurant. Can try to expand to serve south Indian food as well. Good ambience
North America typically makes Indian food really bland, but the butter chicken and lamb vindaloo we had were fantastic. Tasted very authentic
First class service good food and choice friendly staff the restaurant clean and that goes for the toilets realy good hot water all you could ask for and great value.
Without being too rude, I think this restaurant deserves a very negative review as a result of somebody within the restaurant being so rude and insulting to my wife, we had to leave this palace. I have never been insulted more In my life when this particular individual , on responding to my wife's request for chilli sauce , called... more

We just looked at the review and went there as it was in an area we had to be and did not know any restaurant. The food is fantastic and the portions very generous. Great chicken tandoori (takki). Excellent service. Wine affordable. Would return if we were in the area again. Thanks to previous reviewers who sent us there.
They have the best Indian Food on the planet. Can't wait to eat their scrumptious lunch buffet again. Mmmm. A+
Had the buffet today ~ what a perfect way to spend a rainy, Vancouver day. The food was hot and delicious (the Naan was particularly good) and the service was professional and pleasant. When asked for some chili to spice up our choices from the buffet, our server provided one whole green chili and a lovely, spicy paste. Perfect!. A wonderful couple of hours in a warm, comfortable environment... more
Palki offers a nice selection of Indian cuisine on their weekend buffet. The food is always fresh and hot.
Palki's is an intimate little restaurant with very tasty food. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. He is from Goa (a beautiful corner of India, that he will be please to tell you about). We often order according to his recommendations and are very pleased with the result. Order an Indian beer to compliment the meal and cool off... more
Gone to Palki's about 4 or 5 times. My wife and I both love the service and the food is always great. No complaints. One of the North Shore's best restaurants to hit up on any night!
We are regulars to dine in, as the atmosphere is lovely, or to have at home. The food is consistently good, excellent value and the staff is always welcoming and friendly. A great neighborhood restaurant!
My favorite is the butter chicken. I've had it once or twice a month for the last 7 years. The other dishes are excellent as is the value.
Restaurant is very clean and recent interior remodelling makes it great. Take out also available. A selection of Indian beer is available and home made ice cream is fantastic.
About once a month, my husband and I enjoy having dinner at this lovely, quiet, very pleasant East Indian restaurant where the food is well prepared and very tasty, and the service is pleasant and quick.
I love this place. Especially their butter chicken and their Naan is to die for. I have pretty high standards for my Indian food, my stomach hates overly greasy, heavy Indian food. Palki has some of the best balanced flavours and I order from here at least once a month if not two.
I've even done dates here - it is a deceiving little hideaway place but the decor is nice and I highly recommend...

Recently returned for some pick-up after far too many years away and was happy to see Palki was still the great restaurant that we used to enjoy some years ago. It was my first visit to this restaurant. The service was excellent. The food was fantastic, in fact Dalmakhani was the best I have tasted anywhere.

Palki of North Vancouver, BC is truly a treat for all the senses and doubtless one of the world's great East Indian restaurants. Amazing food, amazing service and love their new decor. Have been eating there for years now ..........beast you could get in north shore..!!!!!
If you want every curry you try to taste pretty much the same then go to Palkis. You won't be disappointed. Entirely characteristic of North Vancouver ethnic food pandering to the lowest common denominator.
Two stars because its easy to park and service is good.
Outstanding Indian! We have tried all of the Indian restaurants on the north shore and many of the more recognized restaurants downtown. In our opinion, Palki is above rest. I will continue to recommend Palki to friends that are looking to enjoy a great dinner out.
Recently on our Canada group tour, we ate at this restaurant. Because of my food allergies, I need Jain food. This was the best Jain food served to me during this tour. The food was served at the table in small chafing dishes to keep it warm, which I have never seen done at any restaurant. The variety and the... more
Wow, wow, wow. I cannot say enough good things about Palki. My family has been eating here for years. We generally do take out, although I went to Palki for my 20th birthday with my family. Interior is really nice and simple, on the more formal side. The staff is very friendly.

Absolutely love Palkis !! They have the best Indian food around !! However don't order the hot if you can't handle it because their hot is burning !! For sure try the bitter chicken as its by far my favourite.
Palkis has me ordering once a month at a minimum !!
I don't know about you, but I think every person should have a "go-to" Italian, Indian, Chinese, and Thai food restaurant wherever they live. Somewhere they know exactly what they are going to order, what kind of service they will get and how they will feel once they have polished off their plate.
With that being said, we should not be hesitant to try new things!

We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. The Buffett offers a good variety of Indian dishes including butter chicken, tandoor chicken, curried vegetables and salads. The service was excellent and the naan delivered to the table was freshly prepared.
There isnt one reason that this place doesnt deserve 5 stars.
My family has been coming here forever. The owner and his family are always around and so friendly, their manager is so great too. Their butter chicken is to die for, their onion bajia is addictive, I love the papadam and the naan. Despite having come here for years upon years I can't order anything besides the butter chicken because...

I always have such a hard time reviewing my regular go-to places...I am beyond biased about Palki. I love it...even more so since the remodel.

I've lived on the North Shore for over a decade and this was my first time going. I had heard from a family member they had a terrible experience (maybe 6-8 years ago) so it made me never want to go. But I was in the mood for Indian and didn't want to drive far.

I Came to Canada in 1997 and for a few years searched for a good Curry House. Well I tried the rest, but I have to say, this is the best. Great selection of currys, great service and Good atmosphere.
Always a consistent winner! Love the food and the owner/staff. So many tasty options and for us very close to home. Our go to restaurant for South Asian cuisine.
This restaurant is actually on the ground floor of my building. I went there to get take out once, shortly after I moved here about five years ago. I didn't really take notice of the decor, but the food was very good.

We've always had reasonably good service and the food's been very tasty (if you like Vancouver's usual punjabi fare). The buffet is just fine and good value for dollar. Ambience okay. Great visibility & location.
Palki is so great, The butter chicken served here is to die for. Best Indian on the North Shore as far as I'm concerned. Tried about 10, these guys are so fast and consistent we don't bother with others now. Saag paneer, butter chicken and lamb vindaloo are the staples. Get some naan and rice with it and you'll be a happy camper!
Hard to find a positive; entirely indifferent service, no atmosphere, tasteless (vegetarian) food and over priced for what it is. I don't like to be negative, but this Indian restaurant comes 4th out of 4 that we have tried in North Van so far. I guess its largely a question of taste, as clearly there are other reviewers who like... more
I've eaten at Palki many times (in house and take out) and the food is consistently high quality. If you eat in house, the staff are welcoming and entertaining. I love eating Indian food. When I found out about this restaurant that is just a couple of blocks away from my apartment, I fell in love with it. They have affordable, yummy food. We have both eaten here and ordered for delivery for many years. THe food is consistently wonderful. All is delicious; The Rogan Josh and vegetarian dishes are exceptional. This is very good Indian food, with deliciously thick and flavourful gravies. My personal favourite of three excellent dishes was the Rogan Josh. The spicing was complex and combined with a subtly-textured Naan, fresh from the oven provided a fine way to dispel a drizzly evening. Have been here twice. I am boring and got the butter chicken both times, but it's just so damn good!
My partner got a curry that was not on the menu and recommended to him by the waiter. He really enjoyed it.
It's a little pricey, so it will never be a regular restaurant of ours, but we will go here every now and then.
Mmm mm mm... I've only been here for their weekend brunch buffet but it's been a couple times and they've both been delicious.
The staff here is extremely friendly (I'm pretty sure the owner thought I was cute... cause he told me... cause he's just that way... and now he'll probably know my name every time I walk in which is always nice).

I don't like Indian food as I find the spices a bit too much for me. I however loved the food here! The staff were very accommodating and I would love to return here!
Food was plentiful and good value for money, but we ordered 3 curries, and all of them tasted the same - i.e of curry powder. The waitress was very nice, but the manager was a bit 'too friendly'.
I've eaten here a few times over the years and never been disappointed. Fortunately each time has been with several family members so I've had the opportunity to sample many dishes. We always give a place a second chance if the food is good and the service not so.
