Thorough, patient, competent and friendly. Surgical team was excellent.

I found Dr. Ottem to be thorough and competent. He was friendly and patient in answering all my questions and describing the procedure and what to expect. Absolutely no pain from the surgery, and only some occasional discomfort while healing afterwards.

After being being diagnosed with prostate cancer in Vancouver, Dr Ottem performed my radical prostatectomy. Run from this guy. I have no idea who is writing about how good this guy is? He is arrogant and has no bedside manner.. He operated on me last year, routine turp. Can't have relations now as it is too painful. When in hospital after procedure , he never even came in to see how I was doing. After 2

Found Dr totem very very good. And from the time I went to my own family Dr , I had a scope and a ultra sound and surgery all within 31/2 weeks. And I'm at home resting and feel awesome thanks. And the staff on the phone were very very informed and nice , they were all great.

I feel Dr. Ottem is the best out of the 3 urologists I have been to for kidney stones. He showed a genuine interest in helping me with my ongoing problem. He explained things to me that haven't been told to me in almost 30 years of kindey stones. He was 5-10 minutes late for the surgery but only because he was helping another doctor with another patients surgery, that is more than acceptable.... more

Horrible experience with this Dr. Very arrogant with me. Did surgery and wasn't interested in any follow up. Told me I had muskeloskeletal back pain when I had chronic kidney stones and RTA. Left his office in tears and my husband furious. He did not listen at all! Have seen anew urologist in Van and had surgery and am now pain free. Stay away from this Dr!!!

Dr. Ottem was very professional and awesome, very good bedside manner. Really have nothing bad to say about him. Would recommend him .

Was not happy with his treatment of an elderly family member. Will not recommend him.
