delicious and nutritious

If you're looking for the best organic food and you live downtown look no further. I live close by and have never seen such a great selection of organic food and he even imports things from around the world!

Wow! Looks like the below reviewers have some personal issues!

I have always had fabulous food and service from this place. They've always been friendly and really helpful. I also have 3 girlfriends who shop here and love it! Looks like jennyfraser may be a disgruntled ex-employee or competitor as she's taken the time to post her ultra negative opinion on every site...weird. I get the majority of my organic food from Organic Boutique. Don't let the below comments fool you, this place is awesome. You need to try it for yourself! Yummy!

Great selection and products

I really don't know what Jenny Fraser or Shanel are talking about. I've been to the Organic Boutique several times and I've had great shopping experiences. I recently watched Food Inc and decided I wanted to make better choices when it comes to food. I happened upon Organic Boutique while I was in Queen West and I found the owner to be super helpful and knowledgeable about organic food choices.
And I love the Evian collectible water bottles!

Don’t touch the cocoa at the Organic Boutique!

The yellow-tinned hot chocolate is very special, the packaging, attractive, reminiscent of old, Italian, quality products. And for $25 you may wonder what the ingredients are, or how it rates nutritionally, or just maybe, you might want to know when it expires. Well, whatever you do, don’t even think about picking that tin up with you filthy fingers. If you do, the cocoa will be removed from your hands by the store clerk who does not want “fingerprints on it”. Yep, that’s what happens. There’s no “Excuse me ma’am, can I help you? Do you have a question about this product? I’d prefer if you didn’t touch it” - which would still be strange, but at least it wouldn’t be rude.
If you’d like to see this special cocoa in situ, you can “view” it at 970 Queens St. West, but only for a limited time – This $25 cocoa, expires in a couple of months!!
And if you happen to read this, Mr. Not-so-savvy-in-the-customer-service-area, here’s a ‘wild’ idea – Why don’t you put that s@!t behind the counter?

I googled this place as soon as I left the store in hopes of getting the owner's name and email address so I could lodge a complaint. This is the first result that Google turns up, which really isn't surprising. www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthrea...

Today, I wandered in to look for some organic soap that had been recommended to me by a friend. I mistakenly chose to browse the selection a little when I did not immediately spot a salesperson. I was trying to pick up a bag of flour when I heard someone shouting from behind me, "Don't do that! Put it down!". I was shocked when I realized it was directed at me by the shopkeeper. He said I could only touch things if was a real shopper. If I wanted to browse I was not allowed to touch anything. His attitude made it apparent that if I only wanted to browse then I wasn't welcome to stay anyway. His excuse was that they had been having problems with break-ins. Now, I've worked in retail for several years, and from my experience, the best methods for deterring break-ins and/or shoplifters include improving after hours security systems and being more attentive to the people passing through your store. By attentive, I mean engaging customers with helpful questions and recommendations, not yelling at them for browsing. Before I left I did sarcastically reply, "Well that's a really great business strategy," he yelled back, "Yeah, why don't you go back to the mall." I guess he meant that anyone who shops at malls or even looks like they might shop at malls is unwelcome at his establishment. That's a pretty large swath of consumers to alienate.

I was in the store for less than a minute and this guy managed to chastise me, cast suspicion on me as a possible thief, and pass judgment on me for possibly being (god forbid!) a mall shopper. I will never go back to that store and will actively discourage others from going there either.
