Charming decor of many teapots. Lots of tea choices served by traditionally clad servers. Food is good, fresh except for the imports of English tasties. Owners are knowledgeable, fun and welcoming.
I always have the most wonderful experience here. Excellent food and the most friendly and attentive staff. Afternoon tea is my favorite, love the selection of teas and sandwiches, then finishing with the most delicious scones and pastries is the best part for me. I've been coming here for over 35 years and the food and service is always great.... more
Had such a wonderful time we decided to go again a few days later. Lovely, fresh sandwiches with amazing fillings. Gorgeous desserts and the scones were incredibly fresh, served warm with an assortment of jams and REAL clotted cream. Attentive, welcoming service. We were also able to linger over our tea without feeling at all rushed.
I've never been anywhere like this place. teapots and British stuff everywhere. Really friendly staff. obviously a huge tea selection. Fresh food.
We decided to lunch there today and called to make reservations. The voicemail said to leave details of reservation times. We got there at our 1pm time slot and saw a table set for six, which is what ours was. Well, we waited 15 minutes before being even acknowledged (there were two people serving one gentleman up front). And then... more
Took my Mom for Christmas afternoon tea. It was lovely & our server was the nicest man ever!! More than enough food for 2 people. We had to ask for takeaways to bring home the leftovers. I would highly recommend this place. My Mom wants to bring my grandmother for Mother's Day.
Old fashioned service and delightful tea are still around if you know where to look. The old curiosity tea shop is like stepping back in time, in the best possible way. Men might feel a little out of place in this quaint shop but then again they have sports bars. The tea is wonderful and the sandwiches are also good... more
My boyfriend and I came here for afternoon tea for two on a Saturday afternoon. Everything was satisfactory from start to finish. The tea menu had 80 different types of tea. Picking just two was a challenge. The food was very yummy and the desserts were tasty.
The Royal Albert cups and plates so beautiful.
Will definitely come back again!
This cozy little tea shop is just a delight. They offer a vast selection of loose teas with interesting names such as Lover's Leap and Buckingham Palace Garden Party. Tea is served in beautiful china cups and comes with a strong recommendation to allow it to infuse for 5-6 minutes. If you are a tea purist, you are given the... more
Recently I hosted my daughter's bridal shower at the Old Curiosity Tea shop. We had a private event on Sunday a closed day for the tea shop. They could not have been more co operative.. The venue was quaint and the location was ideal. Enjoyed by all 30 guests. Delightful.
There is a wonderful variety of teas served in fine china at quaint tables surrounded by a collection of teapots and related art. The scones are always delicious. Tea Tasting Night was informative and a lot of fun.
My bf first took me there for our first month anniversary - I felt like one of those barbie dolls having a tea party. It was a lovely little tea shop, very cozy and peaceful. Pretty pricey though but worth it - lots of different teas to choose from.
The Old Curiosity Tea Shop is on Main Street Markham. It is charming and quanit. The tea selection is extensive and the savory and sweet menus are decent. A bit pricey for what you get.
I had an absolutely wonderful experience here with my friends. It was our first time coming to one of these tea places and we left satisfied and happy. They have choices that are more affordable (ex. a la carte items, tea sets of different prices) and this allows for more flexibility so you can tailor what you order to how... more
Celebrated my daughter's wedding shower. The Tea Room was opened exclusively for the party and everyone enjoyed the experience. It was a memorable occasion.
Loved the ambiance, food and charming service. The tea presentation and selection of loose leaf teas were fabulous. Purchased a tin of Prince of Wales to take home. Very affordable and high quality fare.
Going back!
Such a lovely little tea shop located on Main Street Markham. I have been here about 3 times or so. The first time I came was probably around April 2011 and then again in August. The first time I went with a friend for lunch and we ordered off the menu. The welsh was so delicious. The next time I... more
If you love tea and you're looking for that nostalgic English experience, this is the place to go. I have become a regular customer here and I plan to remain one for many years to come.

ok, im a total tea critic and fanatic. the place is nice if you like the old fashioned english tea time thing but the tea, i dont think anyone realizes that every single tea they are selling along with the accessories are coming straight from metropolitan tea company, the same thing you can get at longos or any other place... more
If you like tea, using bone china tea cups, and good old fashion English food, this is the spot for you. The ambiance is wonderful and brings a smile to your face. They have over 200 kinds of tea to try and purchase. The staff is amazing, dressed in old fashioned wait staff attire. And the food is excellent. You... more
