I love this place, it's "Our Butcher Shop". Love the Angus burgers, great deals on fresh chicken, and sometimes we get fresh bread, spiced chorizo, or a random treat in there.
Just a little torn on this place. It was enthusiastically recommended by a colleague. New to the neighbourhood I've been trying it out.
What you need to know is that this meat is seriously cheap! They undercut Loblaws, Sobey's, Sanagan's, and let's not even mention Cumbrae on price.
Second, it's also very fresh. They're clearly moving animals. They seem to have a large butcher shop where they...

This place is a gem for passionate cookers. They have all kind of dairies, condiments, seafood, poultry, veggies, oils, meats, etc.
In Mexico we believe that if a place is constantly full of people, it's a good place (customers aren't stupid), and that applies to Nosso Talho. This Saturday, the store was packed, but I just spent 15 minutes there; they have plenty of skilled and multilingual...

It just dawned on me that I have been shopping here and pretty much only here for since I got a barbecue.
If you haven't realized it from all the other positive reviews then let me quickly summarize
1. The meat is fresh. Real fresh.
2. Prices are fantastic.
3. They have you covered for just about anything you want to throw on a grill.
4. There is a good, yet small, selection of veg and dairy....

Best place to buy meat and chicken with an affordable price and Brazilian and Portuguese foods. If you are a Brazilian feeling homesick that is the place to go, they have farofa, pão de queijo, batata palha and picanha.
Nosso Talho - Our Butcher Shop. Wow. What a place, this really is Our butcher shop, babies.
This jam-packed butcher shop offers an excellent selection at reasonable prices. Chorizos are only $1.25 a piece, or if you're smart you can really look like you've outdone yourself at the next BBQ and grab their 10 sausages for $10 deal. Terrific.
Doing a one stop shop? Fear not! Beyond their meat and...

Just your local Portuguese butcher. One step inside and you'll be overwhelmed with the smell of fresh meat. It's a classic take-a-number, gawk at slabs of animals and pick up a pound or two kind of place. Nosso Talho has been around since the mid-seventies, and you can just tell it's a fixture of the neighbourhood. It was pretty bumpin' (as meat shops go) on the weekend, but it didn't take long... more
Long time magnet for the cost conscious carnivore, I find this place to be mostly a disappointment. The meat is cheap because it is of a lower quality. Allow me to repeat; the meat is cheap because it is of a lower quality. Frankly, I'm not all that impressed with skills of the butchers either - I've observed many errors in both labeling and cutting. Costco has much better quality meat for the... more
If you need something basic right away and don't have time to go anywhere else... It's ok....steaks are fine, pork is cheap and its always busy so the turnover is great ... but
a. I bought chicken wings and they were sooo big - they grossed me out... seriously ... steroid wings... totally turned me off.
b. I think they use bleach a lot... because if you buy any breads or fresh farmer cheese...

I go to this Portuguese grocery store for their Brazilian goods. They have the basics: coffee, "Guaraná Antarctica" soda, "pão de queijo" mix, Toddy chocolate powder, and many other things. Another reason to go there is that the place is convenient (between Ossington and Dufferin subway stations).
A visual refurbishment for the inside of the store is really overdue. It looks like they receive...

A high quality product at a low price, what more can you say? Every time I go here I swear I'll never buy meat at a grocery store again. Inevitably I do, but I'm not really sure why. If you're looking for a beautiful steak to throw on the barbecue this summer, skip your grocery store and go here instead.
The best butcher in Toronto to get T-bone steaks or NY Striploins ... Try Nosso Talho and you'll never buy meat at Loblaws or Sobeys again !!
