NIce place to meet for lunch downtown on a Saturday. The place was quiet so reservations for Saturday lunch were not needed. They had a brunch menu with breakfast and lunch items to choose from. I ordered the Rueben sandwich on dark rye with a "teenie tiny" cup of caesar salad. My friends ordered the vegetarian quiche of the day... more
I visited Normand's Bistro this past Saturday Morning for Brunch. Myself and my companion were quickly seated, and passed the menu, given it was nice out we also decided to sit outside on the patio area. There were few people there, usually a bad sign for me, but I was open minded. I sat down, the server asked us what... more
Normand's at the Citadel is the place to go pre- or apres-show... for a tasty drink, a snack or a full blown gourmet meal. The prices are not low, but the value is there as this is chef prepared and unique... dishes like Bison burger and lamb sliders you won't find anywhere else.
Great service, great food and drink!! my husband and I go here for our anniversaries! They have a wonderful wine list too!
Normand's is a great place to eat...period. Excellent service by knowledgeable wait staff and awesome chef. Do try the elk!
Went for a quick dinner before the show. We had the Ceaser salad, dry ribs, soup, and goat cheese salad. Ceaser salad was ok, but croutons were soft and chewy....so much for textural contrast. Salt and pepper dry ribs lacked both salt and pepper. Squash soup was excellent. Goat cheese salad was non-descript, and had to ask server to find... more
Polenta vegetable lasagna was a terrific treat! I was famished after my 10hr shift I had worked and was exhausted, I wanted to eat but wanted a meal just like someone would make at home for me and thought I would try Normands. I had never really thought that the chef at this restaurant could duplicate the aromas, flavours of... more
Three of us went out to celebrate a birthday dinner on a Wednesday night, and we tried out Normand's bistro.. thinking it was be as good as Normand's Restaurant. Well, we were right! It was terrific. Roasted Lamb Shank Osso Bucco was delicious and so were the Braised Beef Short Ribs. The mashed potatoes were amazing and the vegetables cooked... more
Being fans of Normand's on 117th and the Glenora Bistro, we made a reservation for Fathers' Day brunch. We were pleased that they would take a reservation, as many of our favourite Edmonton brunch places won't and you have to line up. The service and the food was in keeping with Normand's standards, that is, excellent. The menu was a... more
We were a group of five from a conference next door at the Westin. We arrived just after noon. Waiter surprised that we did not have a reservation. We did not mention that we were working and not out for a leisurely lunch. We had simple orders, soups, quiches and salads. The person with the salad-quiche combo received his salad.... more
Had appy's, dessert with a friend before a concert at the Winspear. Restaurant was half full but Took quite a while for the server to come by. She was either having a very bad day or is in the wrong line of work - haughty attitude combined with total indifference to customers didn't work for me. I ordered a spinach... more
Went here for lunch and there wasn't really anything that interesting on it. They seem more interested in having breakfast food served all the way to dinner then having a lunch menu. I asked if I could order off the dinner menu and was told no. So I ended up ordering one of 2 dishes that weren't breakfast. The food... more
On our way to the Winspear we stopped in at 6p.m. for dinner at Normands Bistro across the street in the Citadel building.
Maybe 5 tables were in use but we were still asked if we had a reservation. The waiter was overly attentive to the point of condenscending. I really believe if I had been called "Dear" one more...

Because of the convenient location to the Citadel Theatre, my friend and I booked reservations at Normand's Bistro before attending a play at the theatre. It was extremely busy(reservations a must) but the service was very good. I had the special of the day and my friend had the short ribs. Both were excellent.. piping hot and tasty! I would... more
A friend and I ate at Normand's Bistro at the Citadel on Tuesday the 20th. It was odd we were there before anyone and got asked about reservations. I suppose it was polite but at 5 PM mid week it just felt odd. That said our dinner was simple. A Cesar salad and a bowl of butternut squash soup. Bot... more
My wife and I went to the restaurant before seeing our 7:30 play. We arrived at approximately 6:00 with no reservation and the hostess was extremely helpful and mentioned that she was out of deuces in the dining room but she had tables in the lounge and was very apologetic that she didn't have a dining room table. We were... more
But we trusted Normand and went before seeing the show at the Winspear last thursday. Due to an influx of both the Citadel theatre and Winspear concert hall patrons, the place was jammed full. Our waiter , Graham was working under extremme duress, i don't think the tiny kitchen here could keep up. Luckily, we had booked for 6:15, with... more
Normand's Bistro is very conveniently located to the parkade for the Edmonton Public Library, Citadel Theatre, Winspear Centre and Westin Hotel. Not knowing Edmonton, we were happy to come across it for a late breakfast. Both servers were very friendly, pleasant and helpful, going out of their way to give us directions to our next place of call. A variety... more
