Nonna’s Cucina Ristorante is a family business dedicated to our Nonna. We serve rustic Italian cuisine, including a great assortment of appetizers, Burlington’s best thin crust pizza, pastas, and meat and fish dishes. No meal would be complete without our signature desserts such as Jose’s Tiramisu and Mrs.G’s Carrot Cake. We also offer a new 3-course pre-fixe menu, a lunch menu and children’s... more

Nonna's is Burlington's best kept secret! We tried this restaurant based on an Open Table review and we are so glad we did.
When you enter this building you forget about the outside world. There is an elegance and environment that is second to none.
We arrived early and were greeted by the owner who suggested we have a glass of wine and sit at a bar area at the front of the restaurant.

This is our neighbourhood place! Sasha remembers my favourite wine, it is cozy and the food is good! Northern Italian specialties. We like the meatballs and the gnocchi - done in a variety of ways. The live guitarist is a bit over the top but does lend some charm. They have recently closed their cafe and are expanding the restaurant. The neighbourhood will miss the cafe. I often use for client... more
"Let me tell you a secret.....Nonna's has it all!"
From the outside, this restaurant appears to be another strip mall business that you drive by often, seldom stopping to eat there. Nonna's kitchen has for distinct areas that make this place a unique and satisfying culinary experience.
They have a semi-private wine room/dining area that can accommodate about 30 people. They have the main...

We have been a few times for dinner and the meat dishes and their lasagna are always very good. I would say it is a bit on the pricey side for a local business, but overall a great place to eat and a great atmosphere on the weekend with live music.
Had a couple of pizzas there, to be honest, call Pizza Nova and request a thin crust, well done and you'll get something equal at a fraction of the cost minus the nice decor. Server has a weak arm when it comes to pouring wine. You're basically in the middle of nowhere so there is little to do after dinner. If I lived in the area I may return. I'm giving this place 2.5 stars but yelp doesn't... more
So good, their wood oven thin crust pizza is 5 star, order a side of their homemade hot sauce.
Live entertainment is always excellent !
Dinner was quite ordinary. Not busy for a Friday night. Dessert menu was limited to three offerings. Waiter kept returning our cutlery after each course. This I did not like - who knew if we got our own utensils. Might give the restaurant another try in future. Still found something lacking.
My wife was craving a thin crust pizza and I did not want one of the big-box rastaurants. We tried this place and we weren't disappointed! Crust was perfectly cooked, the topping were fresh and the service was very friendly, fast and helpful. Paired with a Ceasar salad and it was a nice night out. We will return.
My Husband and myself enjoyed a great meal with wonderful live music, playing. Really made our night.
We dined here for the first time recently with another couple. It was a Friday evening and not very busy so we had our choice of table. The waiter took our drink orders promptly. We started with the antipasto plate and spicy calamari. Good choice as they were very good. Caesar salads were up next and they were ok. The... more
Visited Nonna's for dinner after reading all the excellent reviews. First impression walking in was different, seeing large screen TVs in the dining room. Service was good, prompt and accurate. It was nice to have olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the table and warm rosemary bread soon arrived. We ordered the Eggplant Giovanni appetizer to share. It was a... more
We had dinner at Nonna's on Saturday night for the first time. Our reservation was at 6pm. Service was outstanding. Food was great...came hot to the table. Great selection on menu. Recommendations for wine was great. Decor lovely. We did not like the music. Two gentlemen played guitar and sang songs from the 80's and back. It was loud and difficult to even carry on a conversation. This type of... more
Service was great! Greeted very quickly! Friendly atomosphere!
My fiance and I had a fantastic meal, he had the Veal Parm and I had the Seafood pasta (fancy name for it can't remember) with gluten free spaghetti. We were both pleased with the authentic italian taste, quality and the portion size. Will definitely by returning for another meal!
We tried this restaurant out for a romantic birthday dinner. It had great food and a nice atmosphere but be ready to pay a little more as it is on the upper end for price.
Excellent little Italian eatery, great ambiance, excellent food, great service all at a reasonable price
Third visit and things have improved in terms of portion sizes and overall service.Last time out, the lasagna was the size of a deck of cards and just as thick, so overpriced and lost on the plate it came on. Net result was one diner finished ten minutes ahead of the rest of the party; their portions larger. This time, ample portions, though the pasta ordered by two of us had been plated first... more
we had a great dinner here on Saturday May 17. Only thing was there is not one Ontario wine on their wine listing. I asked our server why not and he said they could not purchase at the right price point - blah, blah, blah. Guess we go back to the Keg for a $25.00 bottle of Jackson trigg's Chardonnay... more
We visited Nonna's Cucina Ristorante on Saturday May 17th. The food was amazing. We enjoyed the sax player and overall ambiance. The Eggplant Parmesan second to none. Also the veal cutlet was cooked to perfection. The calamari was delicious. Our server was excellent. Overall it was a wonderful dining experience and we will return soon!
This was my first visit to a restaurant which I understand has been in existence for 4 years. The food was outstanding and coming from an italian background and having my 87 year old mother and grandmother with me ( Nonna) she thought the food was amazing as well. Thus the title of my review !!! Also my mother was astonished to read Mrs Ticcarelli's obituary on the wall and knew her very very... more
My wife and I have been to Nonna's on at least 3 occasions now and have enjoyed a fantastic meal each time. The food is great and the service has always been above par.
We've been many times but I had never ordered the Lasagna di Casa. It arrived barely warm, the waiter apologized and returned it to the kitchen. When he returned it was slightly warmer but not hot. I ate it regardless. Paid the bill, tipped the waiter, and as we were waiting for our change we heard someone at the next table saying he "was in charge". When he was free, my wife explained what... more
The food is really good homemade Italian food. It's a lovely restaurant with friendly staff. The live music is also really good but the volume is so loud you can't have a conversation with your dinner companions. Great place to go if you don't want to talk to your date.
When we arrived at the restaurant, we were originally seated in the middle of the dining area. However, our request to move to a different table was met with a cheerful accommodation. Our waiter was extremely affable and helpful with any of our questions and/or requests (including minor changes to entrees and gluten-free pasta). When our food arrived, everything was very tasty and the portions... more
This is a great place to take anyone who loves great Italian cuisine. I would recommend the Pizza on the first visit, from there you are on your own...One thing for sure, you will return.
Great staff and friendly people..thanks for the love you put into your business.

We enjoyed the food and the staff were all very friendly, efficient and professional. We did not enjoy sitting just a few feet from the people at the next table. We could barely hear each other talking. There were large tables set up for groups coming in later and as the noise level was already very high, we would not have wanted to be there later in the evening. The musicians who came out at... more
We tried Nonna's for the first time in January and immediately loved it. We've been back 3 times since. The staff are fantastic. Food is excellent, particularly the waffle ice cream sandwich. Atmosphere is comfortable and we love the live music. Last time we were there they had a saxophone player who was AMAZING. We highly recommend this restaurant.
My husband and I recently and quite unexpectedly went out for dinner at Nonna's Cucina Ristorante. There was a large wine list to explore, a cozy dining area to relax in and share in a great meal.... more
Sadly, I had to organize a group luncheon for approximately 25 due to a post-funeral reception. However, Paul and his staff were very accommodating, even though we arrived 1/2 hour early and five more than indicated. We recently visited Nonna's Cucina and let me tell you it was an amazing evening. From the food, the music, and not to mention the staff. My girlfriend and I decided to try Nonna's for valentine's day this year, and were not disappointed. We shared the oysters, I had the veal... more
My wife and I attended at 1:00 pm and there were only 3 other tables occupied which removed any excuse of overload conditions. She enjoyed hers while I found mine stringy and difficult to cut... more
We've been to Nonna's several times and have always enjoyed our meals. Our last visit there was disappointing though. For one thing, they used fake bacon bits on the Caesar salad. My wife and I went to Nonna's on a Saturday afternoon (not a busy time).
1. The decor was welcoming
2. The waiter was so friendly and attentive and made good suggestions
3. The food was excellent (Chicken Parmagiana over Penne in tomato sauce
4. The sauce was light, natural, not overdone with spices. Something a Nonna WOULD make.

The pizza was perfect authentic thin crust pizza, salad was fresh. The pasta was wonderful, and they even accommodated gluten issues at the last minute.

I went with a group of twelve friends. My salad was good but if my friends grilled calamari had actually seen a grill, I would be surprised. Finally! An Italian restaurant that actually makes italian food and pizzas. The pizzas are absolutely amazing, just like back home. Sucks that they charge you $3 for a small glass of pop, and you don't even get refills :(..that should deffinitly be changed.
Went here late one Friday for dinner. Very much a family feel to the place. Friendly staff and live piano. Service was great. Food was average...not amazing but sound.
I went here with my elderly parents and my adult son on a recent Friday night. The food is really so-so. The real problem for us, however, was the electronic music, which was... more
Been here one night for dinner. The food was really good, but the service took quite a while. But the good thing about that is....it's all made fresh, so that is probably why it took so long to come! after dining here twice, I can say the food was consistently so so...and the service bordered on indifferent.
My trip to nonna's was good but proicey . I loved the service and food.

My group of friends go out once a month for dinner, Each of us (6) take turns picking a place to try. Everyone said they enjoyed their meal, but to me the pizza wasn't that good. Not enough on it. Salad was good. Big servings. I won't rush back, but would be willing to give it another try.
I find the thin crust pizzas to be the best around and the service was even better than the food. My waiter's recommendation was excellent and the meal and atmosphere was like Little Italy...on busy nights you might have to wait a little longer, but defintely worth the trip and any small wait is worth the meal.
We visited Nonna’s on a busy Saturday night. Our appetizer’s appeared in timely fashion. I ordered the arancini, which was so good, so hot and so substantial I didn't mind the unusual delay of our mains. But when those arrived they were not hot. My pasta was congealed and cold. Had a great meal here more than once. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family, and will return. Like any restaurant on a busy night service is a little slower, but it is still worth it.
I have been to Nonna's twice now for lunch and I would like to express my absolute satisfaction with the quality, pricing of the food and the prompt, friendly service. The food at Nonna's was delicious (authentic and flavourful). The atmosphere was warm and cozy. The service was attentive and friendly.
