Vastly overpriced goods. Whole Foods is far cheaper with better selection of quality goods. I guess it's to rip off students who don't have a car to go el
Highly overpriced. Produce mostly rotting on the shelves with nobody working there to help you aside from the register. Whole foods is much cheaper and has a much better selection. This is a way to gauge local students who can't drive elsewhere.
Their customer service is absolutely atrocious. Worst grocery store in all of Metro Vancouver. I wish there was a Thrifty's or Safeway up there. I recommend doing your shopping off mountain or eating at the food court.
- The chicken at the deli is dry and flavorless - not fresh off the rotisserie.
- They are unable to determine whether any other items there contain nuts for allergy sufferers....

I like the place and choices. I bought ginger beef that was to hard. Also ordered butter chicken samosa for the first time. Yummmmm it was delicious. Must try it once.
The purpose of this location is more to serve the residence and less about the students that need grocery before class. They carry a lot of organics and gluten free products. The prices are high, therefore, I don't make it a habit of coming here a lot, however, when I need a few things here and or there to tie me over for the rest of the work week I see it's purpose here. Customer service is... more
I used to live on campus so I've been to Nesters so far quite a few times.Especially when I need something in emergency, I will go there. I think Netster, in general is quite expensive. Everything has a higher price than SuperStore. So if you don't mind travelling, you can go to ExtraFood in Lougheed or SafeWay there as well. And 1 thing I notice is that they usually have expiring stuffs. Check... more
Nester's Market at SFU is a real lifesaver! We go there all the time as we live nearby and it saves us from making a trip from the mountain.Love their game meat they sell [elk, etc].Brenda in the deli does an impeccable job [very kind and welcoming to customers].Also, Terry at the counter is a fantastic cashier. If you are a student coming in for lunch, there are great deals in the deli. Nesters SFU has provided great service and products since they moved into the neighbourhood. Management is always willing to listen to requests and recommendations, and the staff is stellar. The selection of sausages made by the butcher is fantastic. I love the veal. I couldn't even ask such a selection in a busier neighbourhood. Once and a while I have had trouble with freshness. There... more
I just bought a 3 month expired cheese from there...... So when I returned the cheese, I found out that the same brand was gone so I took another brand that was slightly more expensive and they wanted to charge me for the difference! I have also noticed that they have a lot of expired or close-to-expire stuff on their shelves. So check the expiry date before purchasing.
They have a good selection for all your cooking needs, but it's overpriced.
It's a lifesaver when I'm too lazy or tired to go down the mountain for a few ingredients....as long as it's not produce. Their produce are NOT FRESH. I've seen rotten fruits and veggies too many times! This one time I picked up a bag of bananas and realized they were old so I put the bag down and all these fruit flies...

Expensive? Maybe, but I will take it. I mean seriously, I'll take it. Finally SFU gets on the ball with having an actual grocery store on campus, and it's not hidden in the recesses of the woods! Awesome. We've had a lot of new condos built, but what about all the other people doing what they gotta do on campus? So here we are. Thankfully I don't have to rely on the selection at the little... more
