I've ordered many times from NCIX and have been very satisfied with them. On very few occasions where I had a problem it was rectified. They are easy to contact and will get back to you (can't say that of everyone out there). They often have very good deals and if you subscribe to their mailing list you will be the first to know about it!

NCIX has disappointed time and time again.
The individual incidents were not that serious, but it's the sheer frequency of them happening. I've gotten accustomed to feeling that "something will go wrong at NCIX", and that's not a good feeling.
Strike One:
Way back when, they helped me build my first gaming computer. The parts selection was a relatively painless process and in relatively...

Customer service appears non existent here; I was in twice, never greeted, never acknowledged by any one, staff on the floor completely ignoring me... after two attempts.. I think I'll look for my computer products somewhere else.
I called the Broadway store today to get a piece of information regarding their Wireless IP Cameras.
First off the guy answering the phone could not be less thrilled to chat with me, right from the "Hello" he sounded put out. Then cut me off and told me to call a "877" tech #.
Of course that gets me on hold for 20 mins only to have the person tell me I need to go into the store.
Total waste...

I've ordered many things from them over the years including a PC, but my last experience/ purchase has put me on the fence about them. The Good: They have great prices and a pretty large selection. The Bad: During their Boxing Day Sale, I'd been camping the site 20mins prior, I ordered a new PC and a …
I ordered a computer during the boxing week sales of Christmas 2012. The actual order date was Jan 2, 2013. I paid NCIX to assemble and test the computer for $50. The package didn't get delivered until January 25 at which time I discovered that there was a major hardware problem that NCIX didn't …
Ok, NCIX is essentially like Newegg -- and we are pretty lucky to have an outlet locally. Waiting for shipped products is a pain, as is dealing with returns for online purchases. An NCIX outlet solves those issues. To get the most of NCIX, you really can't expect to go in there and be hand held by staff. You …
I've dealt with NCIX a number of times now and usually deal with Will Russell. The speed at which he responds and the company ships product is amazing. I will continue to support and deal with this online reseller. Great product selection and pricing as well.
NCIX is a computer store that has great prices on computer components and electronic items. It's my "go-to" store for all items of the computer variety as they are usually the cheapest. The Vancouver NCIX location moved a few blocks west from their original location on Broadway (by Burrard Street) a …
Worse company I've ever dealt with. The order processing is confusing, website is glitchy and the advertised express shipping is BS. I've been waiting for 3 days and I've yet to get any shipping update for the product I ordered. Come on, I get better service from chinese no-name sellers on ebay. I heard a lot of positive things about NCIX and figured I'd give it a shot. First and last time I... more
Today I went to their store in Coquitlam to price match their price with newegg.ca, and sales guy went ask the manager and came back then said that he can't sell it for newegg price, because it would be below their cost (which is not customer's concern that NCIX paid the supplier more than newegg), and then he added that newegg price plus the shipping would be more than NCIX price (which is... more
When i was looking to upgrade the RAM on my laptop, i found NCIX to be the cheapest place in Vancouver. Internet & phone ordering available.
TLDR; NCIX online inventory quantity one really means quantity zero. NCIX customer support doesn't totally suck. I got the order cancelled relatively painlessly.
Needed a 512GB SSD in a hurry.
Future shop too pricey.
Newegg too slow.
I know I'll try NCIX.
There online inventory tool showed one unit left in the broadway store.
I decided to order it to make sure i got it
after selecting in store...

There are three ways to buy a computer
1. Future Shop / London Drugs
2. NCIX
3. Newegg
1. Big box stores have walk in inventory, if you want a laptop or boxed machine with no idea other then color shape etc go here, you can get good deals on special
2. NCIX - if you want to get custom parts LOCAL then this is one of the best stores, search online, order online, save the shipping and pickup...

NCIX is a strange place, especially at this location.
Depending on the time of day, and the day that you go, your experience will vary.
I've bought things from here on numerous occasions. You have to take a number and wait your turn. This is where it gets haphazard. There is a lot of staff here (~10 or more?), but the problem is that they are all on computers taking phone orders or whatever,...

Not a fan of this particular location. They were crowded and made you take a number and then the wait was well over 30mins. They convinced me to get the power supply with a rebate. After trying to turn in the rebate offer I found out that it was only for US customers. I called NCIX and they basically told me I just didn't know what I was doing. I never was able to collect on my $20 rebate. Due... more
I was a computer nerd as a teen. For whatever reason, I ordered online pretty much all my nerdy parts and things from NCIX.
I needed another work computer so ordered online and picked up here (location now a Business Centre, new retail location opened couple blocks down).
In the past, I avoided their retail stores at all costs. Usually insanely busy with the phone constantly ringing, it was a...

This place is a well oiled machine. I usually do internet orders and then pick them up in the store -- they have a huge selection of inventory, but their website is easy to browse and search. If they have your item in stock, you can do same day pick up at their retail location. I love it! Just give the guy your order number, ID and credit card at the desk right when you walk in, and you'll be... more
I agree with the Yelpers who advise you to know what you want before you go into the shop. It's worth it to check out what's on sale ahead of time anyhow- you can score some great buys. I've had excellent luck with my purchases here (a hard drive and a GPS.) I'll be going back... more
I love the fact that this is the kind of store that half the people I work with are afraid of. I love the fact that some are so used to the Apple and Dell style of online shopping experience, that they can't fathom thought of browsing the NCIX site, let alone setting foot in one of the stores.
Contrary to that, I find theirs to be one of the best local websites of any kind of business. It's...

NCIX? Don't know what it means? Well it means nerds only, all others turn away.
I absolutely loathe this breeding ground of computer geekery but why am I always shopping here? It's because I am one of those computer geeks.
This place is only for the geek at heart and I'm talking the true geeks out there, the ones that will put general hygiene and social skills aside just to nerd out on some...

Bought a computer online and price-matched almost all of the parts I bought so I saved around 200$ total. Price-matching is something really cool NCIX does. You find an online store that sells the part you want to buy but cheaper, NCIX will match it. I planned to build the computer myself but for 50$ they built it and gave me a one year warranty. No worries, I picked up my computer and it kicks... more
There are lineups because people aren't organized when they come in.
Know what you want, have it written down, and don't ask a lot of questions. It's basically a glorified warehouse. Thus the take-a-number system. If you don't know what the *&@# you're doing then you should be going to one of the front end consumer places that do everything for you. This is not a place you should be going for...

Take a number, wait around, and get exactly what you came for, no more, no less. You can even buy on the internet and pick-up in store, but that doesn't really save you much time. It just assures you that it's in stock if you can buy it.
So, be a man, and get in, pay, get out. I had a magnificent experience where saw something online for cheap, ordered it at the store, and I'm already in full...

Four stars, "Yay! I'm a fan." But I also know exactly what I'm getting into when I shop here. This isn't a store for browsing. You take a number and wait for someone to help you. Either you've found what you're after beforehand on their website, or the person behind the counter looks it up for you on a computer. Then you pay for it, and wait for someone to bring it out for you. Even if you've... more
OK this store has a for and an against review setup (don't know how that happened), the against reviews are under NCIX.
I'm for, they have many things that you need to know what you are looking for to buy, they don't really help unless you know what you want and can tech converse. I buy hard drives for my RAID drive from them and other such stuff. Great selection, fair prices but don't expect...

Agree with the other two posters about the lineup and rush and hush service.
They don't give good explanations or suggestions to noobs who are technically inferior to them. It's like the attitude there is that the customer should be thankfull to them that they are open
Why is it impossible to give zero stars?
Let's keep this Yelp short and sweet- very much opposite of my experience here.
This place is absolutely awful. My friend and I took a number and waited half-an-hour without any contact from the staff there- save for the one staff member who RUDELY told us to not sit on the counter. Yeah? Well if you have a 'take a number' system, you might want to...

it boggles my mind why people keep shopping here. all their stock is in the back. you can't get to it w/o talking to the CSRs. To do that you need to get a number because there's only 3-4 of them. They're also the cashiers. Everytime I've been there I've had to wait anywhere from 10-20min to even talk to them, and usually I know what I want to buy. i should be in and out but nooo. what an... more
These guys carry a wide variety of computer components and related products. Items not available readily in store can be ordered online. The prices are usually pretty reasonable, and they will price match an offer by their competitor. NCIX is one of my regular go to places for computer parts.
I don't buy big ticket items there, only blank CDs: "blank media" as they're called there. The staff have been learning more English over the last couple of years and are now more easy to communicate with. I try to make sure I have the exact product info, copied exactly from their website, as they will look it up under the official name before getting it for you from the back. It's somewhat of... more
I've primarily shopped online at NCIX.com. Over the years I've spent thousands of dollars there and not once had a big problem, and all of my small issues were dealt with quickly and fairly. The price, selection, and service all cannot be beat.
The store is small, but as it's primarily an online retailer, it's understandable.
Forget Future Shop across the street, you'll get better products...

This is the place recommended most in the forums I searched on-line, so it was the place I went when I needed to get a new monitor. I went in knowing what I wanted, and they were able to tell me exactly what models they had that met my specs. The store is actually a bit on the small side, and you wait your turn to talk to someone at the counter. I think this system actually works pretty well. I... more
This computer and electronics store has a decent selection of all things technology, but what I really love is the way you shop here. You take a number, get to the counter, tell the sales person what you're looking for and they go and get it for you. No wandering aimlessly through aisles and aisles of mysterious products, just good service. A nice change from the usual blaringly loud... more
