Themes include Natural and Cultural history trapping, First Nations, nautical shipping,... more
The place is interesting, and has nice displays about the Sound. If you want to learn more about the place, then this is the place to be, with the history and all... Though small in size, it has maximized its display with all the interesting displays of the city.

For its size this museum has many interesting displays. The lookout tower nearby is especially worth the climb to get a great view of the harbor and sound. There are pretty gardens and rockery on site as well.
This was a really well done museum. THe exibits pulled you in and helped you understand the history of the town and area. I love to learn about places I visit. And the tower...what a wonderful view! Worth the stop.
The Museum on Tower Hill has great displays about the early years of the Parry Sound area. This museum was more than meets the eye! Took longer to go through than expected. Glad we took the time to learn a bit more about the history of Parry Sound.
PS.. the tower is taller than it looks! :$
A good place to spend an hour or two on a rainy day. You can learn about the local history here. Quite interesting!
We visited the museum and also climbed up the tower. The view from the top is really very nice and I would recommend it to everyone. There is a charge to get into the Museum but the Tower is free !!! I would say this is a must see !!!
We stayed in Parry Sound for a couple days during a trip around Lake Huron and finding ourselves a bit hampered by a rainy and blustery day decided to take in the museum. A great history of the area located on Tower Hill with a fire tower to climb with fantastic views of Parry Sound (water and town). Great picnic area. Summer programs for kids.
Visited to obtain historical information & the staff (Michelle) was totally cooperative & pleasent in every way. While I was unsuccessful in locating the specific information I was given some very fruitful leads.
