Great food and a really fun place to come. We often bring our out of town friends. Fish and chips, burgers and wings are especially good. Reasonable prices and good portions. Staff at times could be friendlier depends on when you come.
Went there for an early supper to avoid a lineup. Ordered the kids fish and chips-my son enjoyed it. I ordered mild wings that were actually mild this time and tasty. Tried the mac and cheese and it seemed more like a soup and not worth the almost $15 price. Took half home. The garlic bread that came with it was underdone but not bad. Servers switched and the new one didn't tell me her name or... more
Great street appeal so I thought I would give it a try, food was ok, bartender very rude. Won't go there again.
There is nothing more appealing on a hot summer evening than having dinner and drinks on the patio.
It is just as good as when I was a kid, just in a different way. They've kept the old bar and continued the woodsy feel into the main restaurant. The walls are covered in fake moose faces. The bathroom counters have TVs so you don't miss a second of the game. You can open or close the blinds of...

Meh...mediocre food. Really loud in there so don't plan on having a conversation with anyone except the person next to you. My Chipotle chicken sandwich was a pre-fabricated patty and not seasoned. The spicy Chipotle sauce was the only thing that gave it flavor. The spicy Asian salad dressing was good. Okay service. Cool decor. Food needs some help.
Sampled lots....jumbo shrimp linguini, ribs, chicken wings, salads....it was all great....awesome environment...kid friendly.....will return
This place is a frequent spot for us to celebrate family birthdays so we did so once again.
Service was fast and friendly. Food was good except for one salad delivered to the table frozen.

Stopped in for Boxing Day dinner with my wife's family. We had a great server, who actually told us the Panko bacon appetizer was delicious but not a good value, and suggested we try the spinach dip instead. We absolutely loved it! Nice and garlicky.
Also ordered a couple of Tankhouse Ale's from a micro brewery in Toronto. I already knew the beer was good, but what happened next was...

The food was great and staff were amazing. We had great service, especially for the 'birthday man' in our party.
This can be either a two star or five star review depending on what your after. Main point is that is is loud busy and full of distractions.
First off they have wall to wall TVs and each one set to a different channel, so if your distracted easily it can be a problem
Secondly is the volume, generally not a problem for me but the one companion was super quiet and was hard to hear..

The menu is limited and expensive by Kitchener standards. I think this is a place more for drinks in the evening, sitting on the patio with friends and a great atmosphere for socializing. Menu is limited and probably needs to be updated. Parking is plentiful, but often a full house. Less so in the winter. Bar is good, but noisy.
Moose has alot going for it.
Service was great
Bar area is one of the best around
Peanuts aregreat
Tons of tv's
Even has NTN Trivia (needs the new ntn games boards)
Food........... menu........... sucks
Menu is so ......... unimpressive.
This is a big place. Looks and feels like a lodge. Separate bar and dining areas (but you can eat in the bar too). Free Wi-Fi. Family Friendly. Great for a large group. Fast, friendly, and efficient service from an army of servers.
Unfortunately, the food wasn't that good. The French fries are made on the premises, but might as...

We had not been to Moose for several years as our experiences were not very good and the food was equally bad. But we returned 2 weeks ago for a quick lunch and where were pleasantly surprised. Service was great (a problem in the past) and the food was excellent. we will be coming back.
By sharing your experiences, you're helping travellers make better choices and plan their dream trips. Thank you!
Good place for a quick lunch get together. Bar side can be noisy but dining room has a good atmosphere. Great service. Food is nothing special.
"The Moose" is a great local spot to meet up with some friends and do some catching up. The atmosphere is relaxed, casual and fun. they are quite often very busy and you may need to wait a bit to be seated but you can always have a seat in the bar area while you wait. I go once a... more
Decent food, good service, but a noisy place. I love the dessert called the kitchen sink! I had the fish and chips.
I recently took my son and his best friend here for a birthday dinner.
We waited about 15 minutes to be seated but the food was excellent. Our server was friendly and efficient.
Lots of good menu choices. I'd recommend the meatloaf or wings.
Moose Winooskis has a pretty good menu. It is nicely decorated and not a bad place to go. Pretty noisy. Food was good this last time that we visited. Hadn't been there in over a year because we stopped in the evening quite a while ago, when it was very busy. Sat on the patio and the food we ordered... more
Nothing better then finishing a late shift and having a good burger and some wings with my buddies. Thank you for being one of the only late night kitchens in the area!
Visited the restaurant with 11 people in the party, both adults and teenagers. The facility is divided into two parts: a large rustic dining room and a large sports bar with a circular bar.
We chose the dining room. It was crowded as there were other parties there as well and tables had been put together to accommodate the large...

Very good pub food. Amazing wings. If they aren't the best in the area, they are close. Great place to watch sporting events. service is always very good.
To celebrate a special occasion, this is the place to be. So much fun, service was great and food was good. So festive! Staff joyful, you could tell they enjoyed their jobs.
Awesome time with great friends.I was not disappointed fair prices and really good food.Service speed is better then average. It has a very great atmosphere and is a perfect place to hang out with friends and family
Looking for a laid back atmosphere and lots of screens to watch sports! This is the spot to be! Loads of food options! In the summer a terrific patio.
Food is typical pub quality, nothing special. Atmosphere is good, patio nice but a fair bit of traffic driving right past the patio.
The moose has the best wings. They are so large and juicy and the double coating is the best. One of my favorite places to go for wings.
Have been at Moose Winooskis 3 times all in the summer, I enjoyed their food and their non-smoking patio is great as it is more quiet than their main/ bar patio. The pulled pork fries were very delicious. Good service each time!
nice and cozy place , good bar food
great bar atmosphere , TVs everywhere
good place for lunch, and casual dinner
not fancy dinner
Expect a huge bill for average tasting small portioned food. 15$ salad? - Nice interior (kinda)- but never again to visit.
Went here for lunch with a coworker, both of us from out of town. The decor is that of a large lodge with huge fireplace splitting the restaurant and bar areas of the place. Plenty of TV monitors in the bar area, and they serve the same food in both areas.
Really a huge selection (too many) of items to...

I went there so many times, nice place and cool architecture , waitresses are welcoming and provide good quality of service ... The food is good too
Although busy with quite a few teams, Moose Winooski's managed to get out all the the hockey team and families meals in a decent amount of time. The pulled pork sandwich was good but a little pricey for the portion size with a salad. Quesadilla's were tasty.
What can I say but excellent wings, nachos, staff, service and atmosphere. We travel afar to visit Moose Winooskis every time we are in Kitchener and so far, it just gets better each time! This time I remembered to kiss the moose on my way out! Thank you to the staff for a warm and great experience yet again!
This restaurant is close to my business and have been before, waitress was great and attentive but the food was just OK. Would go again as it is convenient but won't be my first choice.... more
We were part of a party of 45 seniors which descended on the restaurant at lunch time, everyone in high spirits and hoping for good food and service to match. We were disappointed by neither. took the family for a fun meal. Always busy but seem to get in pretty quick. Wings Burgers Salads all our faves
Dropped in for lupper (lunch/supper) with my sister. Enjoyed the patio area and had great service. The Montreal sandwich was very tasty but the roll got very soggy on the lower piece. Light brushing of oil would have made it excellent! Service was prompt, attentive but not intrusive. Food was hot and presentation was very nice!
We were there one Saturday night this summer with another couple. We always used to order the quesadillas and wings. We also got sweet potato fries. Their wings used to be one of the best around, comparable to Morty's pub. Now they're almost as small as Swiss Chalet ones. Very disappointed. The fries had a sauce plopped all over them... more
Would not return. Been so many times because of the kids but I am always disappointed. The line ups are horrible and not worth it.
I have been to this restaurant a couple of times in the last few months. Both times were with my children. The first time, we had a long wait. Second time, we had no wait. The most recent time, once we were seated, someone besides our waitress took our drink order. When she came back, we gave her our food... more
It's basically a sports bar but my partner and I had a pleasant time at the fireplace with good food and wine. It was a cold night and not very busy as it was mid week. The server was pleasant. Enjoyed dinner at "the Moose" on Sat Sept 13th. The place was packed as usual but we were immediately seated in a booth location within the main restaurant. We visited Thurs Sept 11 around 8:30 and headed in to the very packed bar. We were a little saddened to find out it was seat yourself (haha there was not an empty seat in the place) We did manage to get two seats together at the end of the bar and waited for a table to come open and... more
I love the Moose. Wings, ribs, tv's and beer. Awesome bar area and a big patio. They have a non-smoking patio as well which is nice!
Ate here on several occasions while in the area on business. Could always grab a buffalo chicken salad in the bar area and get great food with fast service, all while watching the game! Perfect. They can accommodate rowdy groups in the bar and families in the dining room with a well designed separation between the two.
The Moose used to be a great spot. Great fun super staff. Since the renovation it's been the opposite.
On July 18, twelve of us hit the patio for drinks and snacks.
We are all in the fifties.
We ordered drinks and asked if the boxing match on the one screen could be put on a tv we could see....

Their chicken wings are the best that I've ever had. Our kids also love the birthday wheel and the pie in the face.
Had a really good lunch there. The atmosphere was good and the staff attentive and quick despite being a busy Saturday lunchtime. Only drank Soda so cannot comment on the beer but there seemed to be plenty of choice.
The food was excellant and my Buffalo Chicken salad with Blue cheese was lovely. Will definitely go back.
First, the bad: For dinner late in the week - the Moose is NOT the place to go for a quiet intimate dinner. In fact, it's not the place to go if you want to speak with the people you're dining with. The noise level in this restaurant is through the roof. The acoustics are such that you can pretty... more
It has been many years since we visited Moose Winooski's in Kitchener. Our son graduated from the U. of Waterloo many years ago and we have not returned to the city often since. Took the family to Moose Winooski's yesterday while on our way home. One of our favourite places to eat. Our last visit was less enjoyable due to the volume of the music, we could not carry on a conversation.
I came here for a family meal, and the first thing that impressed me was the decor. There is a Canadian theme to everything, from the moose heads to the canoes and snow sleds. Then, of course, there is the food. We had a few dishes and everything was good. The ribs are very well known and very well worth... more
We just ordered 14 wings at Moosewinoskis and the experience was a hit and miss. Usually the wings here are of a large size and well done. Tonight they were a little off the mark.

We come here every couple of months, and it seems like there's something new and interesting on the menu each time. I haven't had the same thing twice and have yet to be disappointed. They have the default pub grub, and it's all good as well.
I've been to Moose's probably ten times now but never took the time to properly review it. For those that aren't familiar, this is a small chain of three restaurants owned by the same restaurant group that operates Beertown and Wildcraft. It is a Canadian themed restaurant, and a bit over-the-top at that, but the staff is friendly and the décor is pleasant and inviting in the dining room. The... more
Great atmosphere, only
Reason not a 5 because they forgot my order when in a group.
I wasn't sure what sort of beer/cider/mixed drink to get, so I asked for a drink menu. The bartender informed me, between sips of her own drink, that they don't have any drink menus due to the fact that they're getting new ones. I don't know why they wouldn't keep the old ones until the new ones were ready, but apparently Moose Winooski's, which is in large part a BAR, has been without a drink... more
Stopped in for dinner tonight and it was good, just not amazing. I had a soup and an appetizer and the food arrived in a timely manner and the server was friendly (but does Canada not have unsweetened iced tea anywhere?). The food was tasty, but nothing special. Overall it was a nice dinner.
Love Moose Winooskis and the food is worth waiting in the line up. Their food portions are huge and there is always leftovers to bring home. Food is delicious and there is always fantastic service along with smiles always on their face!!
Uninspired food. Took my son there for his 8th birthday. The food was, at best, bland. The schnitzel my wife had was dry and unseasoned, the hamburger my son had was dry as well. The poutine was ok, but over all the whole experience was quite disappointing.
Very nice servers ! Comfy chairs by the fireplace ! Came on a Tuesday night (11pm) not busy - but still open ! :) Got the caesar salad - very yummy ! Only issue - Not great vegetarian options. Great spot though.
I spent 10 days in Kitchener on business, and this place was right across the street from my hotel. I had dinner there several nights. The first night I arrived late (11 pm) and there were still lots of customers. I found a good IPA and had fish and chips -- 4 stars. The second time I had the nachos. The order was huge and good, but needed jalapeños and guacamole -- 3 stars. Third night I had a... more
We heard of this from a guy at a B&B. The exterior was really nice, by the outlet mall in Kitchener. Food was really good, especially the steak sandwich. Drinks portion was huge, well priced, and the most important part, taste good!! Make sure you try the vanilla milk shake!! Yummy!!!
I used to go to University in the KW area and I recall visiting Moose when I first moved up in 2004 and wasn't overly impressed. Fast forward to 2013 and I still go back to KW to visit a couple of friends who've stayed behind for work and after hearing about how amazing it now was since the renovation (and that it was playoffs and we wanted to watch the leaf game) our group ventured over.

Again disappointed !!!! Big time!
Wings are very bad and I am very nice when I am saying this. Fried calamari very very bad , to much batter and to salty.
I am not sure why I keep going there, but I promise that was my last.
This was my first time here, but a coworker recommended it. Great food and cute atmosphere. I had the buffalo fingers with fries which was more than enough to fill me up for lunch. The only downside is that the service was very slow, which could've been due to the fact that there were several large parties in the restaurant. Overall though, nice place. They even have a patio for outside dining.
I saw many families with kids dining on a Friday evening. I liked the whole moose theme. You can choose to sit at tables or at booths and the tablecloth is a big, white paper, so you can play games or draw stuff on it as you wait for food. They offer sandwiches, burgers, steaks and more.
I ordered a Mediterranean hamburger that came with salad. My brother ordered a pulled pork sandwich stuff...

Food was great, along with the attentive service. Lots of parking available. Good place to celebrate a birthday, especially for children - they get to spin a "birthday wheel"!
A group of about 20 of us visited here after our afternoon sporting. I must say that aside from the decor (Montana's-much?) there was nothing else impressive about it.
We had a designed prix-fixe, the soup from which ran out and we were all left with cesar's salad. Not bad, but not the most wowing salad in the world.
I chose the Chicken tetrazini, which screams "bland" like a 7th degree...

Not to fond of buffalo chicken and related. I do not go do bars that much. This was perhaps okay.
Very solid sports bar in Kitchener. A bunch of great beer on tap and a menu that reaches both the "bar crowd" and the dining set.

The new Moose Winooski's is not nearly as good as the old one! They sucked the life right out of it. It's no longer fun and exciting. They still have the wheel but its just not the same.
