I have stayed numerous times at the Monte Carlo on Warden, which I love. Beautiful rooms, smells great, comfy bed and pillows. THIS room was nothing like that at all. My room smelled like the carpet had been soaked and not dried properly - that sick, sour smell. GROSS. Air conditioning was either freezing or non existent. Shower curtain smelled and grout was disgusting. I will never stay at... more
I wish they had glass cups insted of paper and plastic cups. There was also a problem with the air-conditioning system.
I was in Markham on a training and found the Monte Carlo Inn to be the perfect place to stay. The Inn is clean and I was very impressed.
Welcomed when I walked into hotel, pleasant front desk staff, quick check in. Room was very clean and well stocked with towels etc. Very nice landscaping of property. Quick check out also
I've stayed 3 or 4 times here, always for business. Clean and quiet room. Reasonable rates and friendly reception. Yeah, it's not the Hilton or Sheraton, but if you are just looking for room for a night or two in this area, definitely give this hotel some consideration
The bed was very comfortable, fresh and clean, no smell of smoke in rooms like some other hotels i've been to, place was quiet refreshing and cool.
no hot item(no egg, no waffle, no sausage..) for breakfast. coffee and cheap cereal, cheap and old danish, that was it. danishes were miserable. why ice in juice, why?
Every thing was good except the bed. Although it was clean and all but it really needed to be replaced as it was too noisy and worn out.

Overall our stay is OK. You need to pay extra for the hot breakfast. I really don't like it.
It's just a but better than to stay in a motel. Its facilities are old, and they don't clean the room thoroughly or even didn't change a new beddings for a new customer though.
Will stay again in this hotel. A quiet and friendly environment.
Was a great deal, room was clean, breakfast was great, staff were helpful, only thing I would say is some things could be updated there was some tape in the elevator, hole roughly patched in hotel room where door hit the wall, calking needs fixing in the bathroom, but generally everything else was nice.
The room where I stayed on the first floor still has the smell of cigarette when I entered the room. I reported this to the front desk and I requested to change the room. They have changed the room for me to third floor which was much better without the smell of the cigarette.
Room was spacious and clean. Staff were pleasant and courteous
Overall the stay was just ok. The staff offered mediocre service. The air was extremely humid to the point that it felt wet. They could have done a better job on cleaningless. The bathroom smelled horrible because the shower curtains stinked. They said full breakfast buffet and we got there it was just a continental buffet with very little choice. I would not go back.
Overall is okay. But my daughter left a little pair of Snow White shoes on the table, and they are disappeared by the end of the day. It is probably too small for noticing that there is a toy on the lighting table.
Very clean. If you want a good hotel in Markham, then this is the one. I stayed 5 days, and anytime I am back to the area, I will go there.
The hotel is a good choice at this price. The staff are friendly and professional.
The only complaint was the continental breakfast was totally unimpressive.
Uneventful Business stay only NOTHING MORE TO SAY
Quality restaurant in the hotel. Entertainment on weekends. Safe area to stroll or drive to major shopping area.
The room smelled had to change room . Had to tell housekeeping that I wanted clean sheets . Did not want to change the sheets . I tub was not cleaned properly just wiped out with a cloth the cleaner stepped in the tub . No impressed
Overall the service is not good in the front desk. Disappointed thing is when I need two more towels for my kids, they said I went down to the front desk to get it, when I went down to the front desk, the lady said I had to wait for her to go get the towels and seem not nice to me even I said thank you. Compare to the people work in the dinning room, they are nice to everyone.
It was very quiet, but we were on the 4th floor. The first assigned room was supposed to be smoke free, but it was not. We had to change rooms after we checked in. We have to load and unload. That was not good. We specified non-smoking rooms when we booked. The breakfast was skimmpy, carpet was old, only have one elevator for the whole building of 4 levels. Needs a complete remodelling job.
the room is total different as the pictures. very noise. it is hard to have a rest there.
Just my friend use your room and said everything is good
There was a man at the desk who took 2 minutes to look up from what he was doing before he helped me. All he had to do was look up and say I will be with you I a minute. The fridge froze our drinks and the safe did not work. The towels are well worn and not plentiful The air conditioner was so noisy I had to turn it off.
I am an Event Director in the car industry and travel weekly. I need clean, comfortable, courteous and convenient for under $100. They are always the best choice.
Great spot with lots of room and great comfy beds.
This is an adequate no frills clean hotel with adequate facilities. We chose this hotel because of its location and proximity to the car dealership which I had to use for servicing my car. It was also clost to our friend's home. We found nothing wrong witgh the accomodation. For the money we paid, it was more than adequate for the one night. There was ample parking. This hotel is just ok. It needs to be completely updated, but it was clean enough to not be considered "a dump". For my purposes (business) it was good enough. Close to shopping and clean rooms. Basic breakfast included...could've been better
The hotel is convenient to where I needed to go for business. It has a small restaurant and a bar, which is also convenient. The menu has a lot of selections. The hotel's map showed a vending machine on my floor but instead of a vending machine, there was a locked door. The only vending and ice machines are on the main floor.
Most of the staff was lovely and helpful, and glad to help or answer any questions. One person was rude at check in and was making comments on what luggage we were bringing in. She laughed because we had stayed at other Monte Carlo's and they all had pools, so I asked if they had one. (no they don't - wasn't an issue, just a question of curiosity) Rooms as always were clean as was the rest. The... more

I stay at this hotel regularly for work-related meetings, as it is close to where the meetings occur and other committee members stay there. We had a good stay. We really just needed a place to rest our head not there to enjoy hotel but would go to that hotel again for a holiday.
perfect hotel. big rooms. free parking. good service.
I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. very friendly and courteous staff
I want to compliment the staff and not only was the room lovely but the staff everyone bended over backwards to make sure I felt special. Almost made me want to stay longer however I was there on business. I was affordable and had all the amenities one could ask for. As they say in the movies "I'll be back" Andrea
I travel 100% of my time all over the world and like to give local hotels a chance when possible instead of the big chains, Marriott, Hilton etc. but unfortunately, this particular group of hotels failed customer service 101.

Advantages were general cleanliness of hotel and good value. Disadvantages were nonprofessional attitude of personnel, very simple continental breakfast. Towels were not new and we preferred not use hotel's shampoo. Best for people who look for basic services with good value.
My two-night stay at the Monte Carlo Inn in Markham was disappointing. I will start with the positive aspects, and then move on to the shortcomings.

This hotel is absolutely atrocious. It looks, smells, and feels like a retirement residence that was renovated.
It's dark, gloomy, service is bad, smells terrible everywhere, food is horrible. It's basically good to simply sleep at night, nothing more.
The breakfast was really the only disappointing thing about the room other than there is not anything within walking distance of the hotel. The breakfast is very sparse, and if it is busy the staff did not seem able to handle the rush well and at one point the only thing left was a basket of bread. The kid (server,... more
I had an excellent stay. The room was spotless and the staff were very helpful. All the staff were actually smiling for a change. I would definitely stay here again, and I would recommend it to anyone.

The only thing was I was not told of the rewards program until after I had stayed here several times and it was I who asked about it after a friend told me about it. There is no back credit given for past visits at this hotel. I was disappointed in that.
The management and reception staff are very rude. Almost as if they are doing you a favor for letting you stay there. Constantly trying to up sell. Nice rooms but staff really spoil the experience. Quality suites close by is a much better alternative.
Don't agree with $100 deposit. Tried to up-sell to a more expensive room. Was starting to head out the door when a "cancellation" came through. Yea, right. If they would just cut the BS, there would be more repeat business.
