About 530 pm on a Tuesday.
The place is relatively busy but not packed.
Service was great. Seated quickly, server took drink order quickly and drink arrived quickly.

Dead, Slow or Stop

When we arrived this past Saturday evening they were 4 hostesses standing at the desk chatting...and initially did nothing.

pork ribs were extremely tough, baked potato was dry and over baked had a party of twelve not one person thought the food was great or for that matter stated would return

Slow service/mediocre food

Went went for lunch. Service was good at first with order being taken in 5 minutes or so. Took over 45 minutes for meal to arrive. Never saw the waitress for the entire time. Our go-to place, for sure

Always have a good meal, We especially love the ribs. Prices are okay and servers are very attentive. Drinks might be a little overpriced.

Tonight my boyfriend had the all you can eat ribs and I had the chicken tacos. The ribs were amazing, fall off the bone. despite stale concept, food did not disappoint

Called ahead and was put on Friday night table wait list at 6pm. Seated within 15 minutes, with attentive service from Naomi. Ribs, chicken and sides (save for kicked up corn), all as expected and very good. Corn...not so much. Value for your dollar, a thumbs up dining experience.

Service makes the difference

In a chain such as Montana's the service is often what set one location apart from others. I stopped in for a quick dinner and a beer making myself at home at the bar. The beer was ice cold, the service was excellent. Pleasant staff and fast service. I'm not a huge fan of chains but I would return.

My wife took a while to decide on the bbq rotisserie chicken (white meat) only to find out after a not insignificant delay that there was no white meat left. Excellent food

We ate here two nights in a row! Food was excellent! You get a lot for your $$$$. Very tasty. The ambience of the restaurant is really neat too..... lots of references to Montana.... would think they would feature more of the Canadian Rockies and the area across the border from Montana. Noisy but ok

Food was good but the noise level is something else. I dont like to eat a meal with tons of yelling and screaming going on. If I wanted that atmosphere I would head to Big M The prices are a bit on the higher side but the food is good. Not in a hurry to go back there.

Great steaks

Perfectly cooked to order steak, baked potatoe and shrimp skewers.
The nicest, friendliest, attentive waitress I've had in a while.
I'd eat here again... anytime.

Great no matter where you go

Thing unlike about Montanas is that no matter what city I'm in, the food is great waver there I go.
The atmosphere is excellent, staff are friendly and you never wait too long for your food. I'm sure they have the odd bad day but I haven't experienced that yet,

We went for a birthday which we booked reservations for and were seated right away. It was Tuesday so kids eat free, when asked we were not told how it worked just kids eat free. Poor Experience

Very poor customer service. Won't go back. Food isn't bad but they need some serious lessons in how to treat customers.

Go somewhere your business is apprieciated

I did not find this to be a good experience. Our food was cold and really did not have much flavor, they were rude when we asked why it took over an hour for our food and offered us a free dessert. Wow thanks but no thanks, we use to go often, not anymore.

One of my favourite restaurants

Good service. Excellent food. One of our regular favourites. My favourites are the club house, and the goat cheese chicken. Oh and the antojito's are amazing too!!

bartender and waitress could not give a c@!p about you

Usually service at Montana's is pretty good, not in thunder bay. I left after my friends finished the appetizers and went to the Keg for my meal, where my business was appreciated.

Horrible Servive and subpar food

One of the worst places in town for service. Every time I eat here I regret it. The food is average (on a good day) and is extremely overpriced. For what you pay here you can get a much better quality meal from almost anywhere else.

Good food but noisy

We eat at Montana's three or four times a year, and the food is consitently good. The restaurant is busy with a sports bar on one side and tends to be noisy. Another cookhouse/grill. It's average, nothing outstanding about it. Last time I was there, the service was horrible, food was either over or under done and it didn't taste too great either. I wouldn't go back

Steak, Car and Moose Hat

Other than good steak, a beeping car that goes off on birthdays and a moose hat that you have to wear on your birthday, this is your average steakhouse. Until you ask for crayons to colour on the paper tablecloth!!

A Great Meal

I know this is a chain, but I would highly recommend. Place was full. Took a little while for order to arrive at the table. But was it worth it. Best ribs I have had in a long time. Prices were a little high but enjoyed our visit nontheless.

Holy bad service

Sat at the bar for a drink and was ignored for nearly 15 minutes. Got up to leave because I thought they were closed - that could be the only possible reason for five of the wait staff to ignore me. Ordered a very simple drink, took four tries to get it right.

Great spot for decent food, cold beer, and good service

They're in the same parking lot as the Days Inn & Suites, so if you're staying there, it's very convenient.
Food was solid - everyone was happy with what they had.
Service was good, bar area had lots of TV's with different sports on, and it was a nice atmosphere.

Great ribs

This restaurant was suggested by the desk clerk at the Day's Inn next door. We were not disappointed. The baby back ribs were meatier than those we get in the states and the BBQ sauces were excellent. They also have a good selection of NA beers, if you don't drink, with the Molson Excell being really good.

Rickard's Red and beef ribs

During two trips to Thunder Bay I've been able to enjoy Montana's beef ribs and a couple of pints of my favorite Canadian beer, Rickard's red. Recommended dining.

Good food, but service can be slow

The food is always fine but lately the service has been very slow..to the point of my 6 year old falling asleep at the table waiting for our meal to arrive! Its hit and miss with the service, but the Manager is very nice.

Sometimes this place is great, sometimes it is very poor. They haven't seemed to be able to work out their consistency with food or service. BBQ ribs my hubbie loves them, we go often

They make without a doubt the best meat-loaf ever. I don't eat meat, but this is my exception. We usually go in a group, that's how easy it is to get friends to drop what they're doing and come along.

Always a Favourite

Good food with great flavour. Pulled pork sandwich was just right. Fries need work. Friendly staff. Lunch comes in less than 15 minutes.

Basic Roadhouse Fare

Didn't try their ribs that they claim are very good. They are true to their word of the 15 minute lunch. Some interesting dishes.
