We wre a table of eight and since I am not really into Greek food, I ordered the Prime Rib. It was awful, worst prime rib I was ever served, it was over 50% grizzle, Service was good but very slow,
I have visited Minos over many years and have always had an excellent meal experience. The style of the restaurant is unique. The food is classic Greek with a good range of options. Saganaki (flamed grilled cheese) is always fun and tasty as an appetizer. We always get the Zorba appetizer platter, which is a great way to start the... more
If the weather is bad, or you've had a long day....you might find yourself considering takeout. My go-to is often Minos. Sometimes I will order from their "family packaged" meals. I get a large container of yellow rice, potatos, pork skewers, tzatziki and ofcourse the AMAZING greek salad. The salad alone isn't unreal....but the bright pink dressing that they have... more
Mino's is consistent with an excellent menu and good value. We often take out from here also, very generous portions (petit selections are more than enough, and a full entree is enough for two)
Minos is reliable for good quality food.
You will never be hungry when you are done.
Always able to accommodate groups & late reservations.
11 of us ate out last night. The service was great, and all our meals were good. On top of the menu choices, there are 3 specials. Last night included chicken & ribs, grouper, and steak & lobster tail.
All meals come with a house salad, if you want to upgrade to Greek or Caesar salad, it's an extra $2.50...

This was my first time to Minos and will not be my last. Terry attended our table and did a great job of identifying the good vs the not so good mixed in with a bunch of humour. Three of four had the grouper with mussels or shrimp with my wife having lasagna. Have a Caesar salad as it was... more
Food and service were both excellent. They make the best greek salad going! We had great service and there is plenty of parking for customers! Too bad it wasn't closer to the waterfront :)
what a disappointment-the filet kabobs had been marinating in something that did not smell like food. We couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was My friend said taste this-I had to spit it out in my napkin. when my plate arrived the food had the appearance of a long sit under heat lamps.
My salad of brown edged lettuce had been...

Had a delicious lunch, with a wonderful Greek salad, small is huge, lots of fresh bread! Great coffee, a very attentive waitress. There were children with us and made sure their meal came first, and was really good with the children. Checked in regularly, great coffee, refreshed often, some had crab melt, others a lovely glass of wine with meal.... more
Passing through from Montreal we stopped in Kingston for dinner and found Minos. The food was outstanding - seasoned and cooked to perfection. The greek salad might have been the best I've ever had. The service was fast and very friendly. We ordered a dinner for four that included souvlaki, chicken, rice, chicken salad...
Can't wait to drive though Kingston...

Minos serves up many tasty Greek dishes as well as steak and some chicken dishes. Service is efficient and friendly. Many specials available. If you're in Kingston a stop for lunch or dinner at Minos will not go wrong.
another franchise but this time with a greek theme- expect the same type of food at every location- big on volume but not that worried about quality - got sick here after one visit and never went back
We had our Christmas office party at Minos. Service was excellent and very well organized. The steak was done to perfection and everyone enjoyed themselves. I just find that the tables are so close together that it makes the space you have a bit too close and personal and a little noisy.
Recommended to us by our hotel (Holiday Inn Express), food was very good. We ordered a large sampler - which was a great way to experience the various appetizers. Our waitress and the kitchen were great as we opted to split an entree (after filling up on the appetizers) and even separated them onto to different plates for us. Food... more
We love the food at this restaurant. We like to try something new off the menu everytime we go. The food is always served just right - the reason why we keep going back.
We ordered the "special B" and medium greek salad for take out. The special consisted of a whole roast chicken, a huge container of rice, 4 large pork souvlaki brochettes, large buns, & tzatziki sauce along with the huge greek salad that we ordered separately. All of the food was fresh, high quality and delicious. The value was outstanding since... more
I have travelled extensively in Greece and have been to countless Greek restaurants in Greece, London, Montreal, and New York. Why? Simple, delicious, fresh food. That said, Minos Village stands out as the single worst Greek restaurant I have ever eaten at. Where to start? Service was terrible: the waitress served from the right (rule #1 in any waitering school:... more
I went there on Christmas eve. It was great. It has a good and pleasant atmosphere. The food was great. However, the waiter was not very smiley and I could see that he is not happy about his work. There are some rumors around that says he is the restaurant manager himself. but for the food's sake, I will definitely... more
Great Greek food! Steaks seafood and some new items on the menu, delicous and well priced. Make sure to save room for dessert as this restaurant has some great ones. Most are big enough to share!
Pleasant surprise given some of the negative reviews. The squid and octopus was an amazing appetizer. Dinner was quite good but the meats were all a little over cooked for my taste. The deserts were great. Try the baileys cheesecake. The forks were moving at ninja speed when this came out.
Nice atmosphere. We were there for an early dinner...

Our party of 4 recently dined here and were all happy with our experience. A variety of dishes
were ordered from steak, soulaki, stuffed trout to seafood and all were very tasty and well prepared. The saganaki starters were excellent as always. Prices were a little on the expensive side but portions here are large compared to most restaurants. Service...

Always good service and food. Great atmoshere and great parking. Pricing is good for what you get. Minos Delight is one of my favourite dishes.
We've gone for years (we had a six month period where we'd go every week) and love the food and the staff. Hadn't been in a while and went the other day. Prices have gone up to the point that we think twice about going (by the time we each have a drink, and order a saganaki and our meals... more
Was dissapointed by the take out dishes. Not the real Greek deal.
The Pita breads are flavourless not the real spices used and the chicken was cut into too big chunks. The big salad was just sad :( It seems that there was no love and tender care used when preparing this meal...too bad really.
Been coming here for years and always satisfied best Greek food in town. Service always the best
the restaurant is small but makes it intimate and friendly. The menu is consistent and the servers are the best. The menu needs some updating for variety, but the place is often packed on weekend evenings.
Went to Minos Village restaurant Sunday for their Prime Rib Special at $19.99 ..it was excellent.... nice outside cut was tender, juicy, the caesar salad was awesome and came with rice and vegeatbles (bulletin for the dolt who complained they use frozen vegetables...98% of restaurants do) ..they were cooked to perfection.... have had the souvlaki there before and was equally... more
Great food, works well for larger groups. The Greek Salad is the best in town. Very reasonable prices. Unfortunately they don't deliver.
Of all the food I've had here it is the takeout salads that are the best. Not really a good thing for a restaurant.
Our first visit to Minos was a retirement party for a friend with about fifty people sitting for dinner. We were amazed at the quality and quantity of food for the price and promised ourselves that we would return on our next visit to Kingston, that was to be two weeks later so we went in for lunch. We had... more
My husband and I along with two other couples dined at Minos on Princess Street recently to celebrate the birthday of one of the women in our group. Although we had not frequented this facility in awhile the entire experience was very different from the standards of the past. This restaurant has been a fixture in Kingston for years. Previously,... more
I expected great Greek food, but it was not the case.
It started off with me asking the waiter - after having reviewed the wine list - if they had Retsina (what's a Greek restaurant without Retsina?). He went away and came back - no, they don't "do" Retsina.
OK, so I order some other wine and then peruse the...

Very nice restaurant. Friendly staff and great food.
There's so much one can take of chicken, rice and potatoes and pay through the nose! In a word, go to Loblaws or Food Basics and make your own, it'll be a lot less expensive. The place is too commercial and it's obvious all they're after is the money, not the experience of the patrons.
We dined at this establishment on Dec 10 2011 - group of 12 - set dinner menu - the waiter informed us of the choices - never mentioned that all dishes would be covered in sauce - including Strip Loin steak. Cesar salad was horrible - salty - commercial salad dressing - artificial bacon bits- and 3 croutons. Meals arrived... more
I made a reservation to Mino's Greek Restaurant on Queen and Barrie Street for my wife and friends of ours. Like usual we ordered the special,,,I mean we all ordered the same special! The food was great and George, like usual came over and made sure everything was just how we like it. I remember this night because we were... more
Minos is a personal favorite and it never fails to impress. Their portion sizes are always abnormally large which, ensures left overs. Their vegetables are always fresh and lots can be seen on the plate, unlike what you actually get in Greece. I recommend everything on the menu because I've had good experiences so far. But their Greek salad is... more
We had a sit down meal once and then take-out once. We don't live in Kingston, but if we do, we would go more often. The sit down meal is not cheap but the take out is. My other half had really delicious prime rib special (yes, at a greek restaurant) and I had really good chicken souvlaki, so we... more
2 takeout dinners is actually 4 solid meals. Hard to beat that deal for $22. Yummy, and super fast. Ample salads. Though I did have one vegetable layered thing I actually dislikes so much I threw it out. Any souvlaki is a solid bet. The deserts are enough to share - maybe by 3.
Would I recommend it to a...

Loved it. Ate there many, many times.
take-out for sure...dinner for 2
We do their take out occasionally, but it doesn't compare to Greco's.($$)
Food is really good to take out.
This is an amazing Greek restaurant.
Fine dining. It is expensive though.
Great food, but portions are massive.
