I do like grabbing buns here. Its fresh. Made Daily.
Staffs are ok. Not like friendly but again this is not a restaurant. Most people just grab what they need and go.

Its located in a mall so parking is not a problem. Come early to get the good stuff. Or else you are left with left over.

Reasonably priced fresh cakes, pastries, buns and breads. They bake/make items on site. If you buy 6 items you don't pay gst. I would have given them 5 stars if they accept debit or credit cards. You don't always have cash, right?

I only go here for the coconut buns!! Soo cheap and soo good, you can't go wrong!! I always want to try something else but nothing really seems to catch my eye.

There are always a lot of people in here so they must be doing something right! When you walk in, you can grab a tray and fill away as its mostly self serve. The store is quite small so sometimes people end up stepping on your toes.... more

Best selection of Chinese bakery at the right price. Store is clean! I love the mini coconut bun, the mini red bean paste rice ball, the mango mousse, egg tart, and mini pineapple bun.

I went there few days ago for the first time. One of my friends told me how this bakery carries chestnut cake and I was craving it so I went. I purchased 3 different types of buns(chestnut, red beans and pineapple), a slice of chestnut cake and a slice of tiramisu.

Qualities of buns are like what many other Chinese bakeries carries, but they were all tasty. Quality of cakes were simply... more

I bought a cake for my special man on his birthday and learnt two things... they have fresh fruit cake and canned fruit cake.. I never knew that since I don't eat a lot of sweets or bothered to ask..

Anyways I purchased a fresh fruit cake and boy was it one of the best cakes I've had in a loooong time! The fresh fruit made a huge difference you can hear the crunch in every bite, cake was light... more

I like Maxim's bakery in general and will continue to be their client for sure. My only complaint and recommendation for others is not to purchase the Maxim's gift certificates unless you get a special deal and not dollar per dollar. For our wedding we spent a lot of dollars to provide $10 Maxim's bakery gift cards from this Metrotown location for some of our many guests. We were told it was... more

This is a major chain bakery, however, for cheap and simple this is awesome. Nothing here is gluten free, however, when I have a lazy day baking and want some cheap Asian pastries this is the best place to go. They're right beside T&T market. I like the cafeteria idea of using thongs and placing said pastries on tray. Most hygienic method of self serve pastry grabbing (bit of a germy). They are... more

Big fan of their coffee sponge cake before they stopped making it last year, so Anna's is the only other true good one.

And if you've come this far to grocery shop at T&T across the mall inside, you better come to Maxim's for the baked goods, find the T&T stuff over pumped all day & just sits there. Much more fresher & tastier too.

It gets busy at times, so you have to grab a ticket.

Only... more

Maxim's is an institution for baked goods that started in Asia. I wasn't aware that they were established in Hong Kong until one of my coworkers who happened to be Irish Canadian told me about it. She lived over there back in the 1980's and she said, "They were at almost every street corner!"

As for myself, I've been eating baked goods from Maxim's since I started crawling. Hey, my first... more

This is my favorite Chinese bakery in the Vancouver area. I love the chicken pies and chicken rolls. The egg white tarts are pretty good as well. My favorite thing to get here, though, would be the coconut buns, which come in a pack of three (not too big). It is always surprising when I give the cashier my items (mostly self-service: pick up a tray and some tongs and get what you like) and the... more

Pretty convenient location for your Chinese baked goods.

Besides a few other Asian bakeries out there in Vancouver, I've been returning to Maxim's for over 20 years. They have a huge variety of sweet and savoury goodies. I also see they've improved their skills in the cake department too. When I walked into the store, I was greeted with a "Hello, how can I help you?" Wow, surprised I actually... more

My family has been die-hard fans of Maxim's Chestnut Cake for 15 years now - it is the unspoken choice at every birthday occasion. Nothing has changed about it. The cream is light, fluffy, and not too sweet. Rich flavours in the chestnut filling. Similar cakes from the few other Asian bakeries we've tried have yet to dethrone Maxim's. In fact, I just picked up another one for Mom's birthday... more

This is the place to buy your Chinese buns when you are done shopping at TnT. The buns here are fresh and cheap. You basically grab a tray and a tong and go medieval on their a$$. Buy at least six items and pay no HST. Most of the buns are smaller in size then the ones from New Town Bakery or Chinatown. But on the good side, you get to try more buns. They are constantly baking throughout the... more

This is my favorite bakery for Chinese pastries and buns. The coconut and BBQ pork buns are so soft and grabbable (I like grabbing buns!). And the coconut buns aren't too sweet. There is a lot of traffic here so you can be sure your buns will be fresh.

Their egg tarts are delicious too when they're fresh. My other favorite thing here recently are their fruit tarts. You get 8 of them for $3.75... more

Great bakery located across from T&T Supermarket at Metrotown. They have many cheap baked goodies. Like their mini danishes which are a good bargain and are a better deal than buying a regular size version. They have many types of buns, Chinese baked goodies, cakes and breads in addition.

The mango cake I had there was good and not overly sweet. And the green tea bread that they carry makes... more
