We spent the weekend at the Maritime Inn. The beds were extremely comfortable We would recommend the Inn Resturant which served up a good value hot breakfast.
We booked here last minute (30 minutes before arrival) on the last leg of our tour of Nova Scotia. The room was easily one of the nicest places we stayed on our whole trip. The only drawback was that there was a delay securing our reservation since we booked via Expedia last minute -- the reservation hadn't been received yet by hotel staff when we arrived, so there was a bit of confusion as the... more
Nice clean hotel with goodbeds and restaurant attached. Not much else here though except the university.
Was pleasantly surprised when we checked in. The outside could use a little updating, but the rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful and the meals in the restaurant were some of the best we had on the entire trip to Nova Scotia. I would highly recommend the hotel.
My wife and I spent one night here to attend a wedding. The hotel is within walking distance to everything in downtown. We were actually able to walk to the wedding which was nice. The rooms are very clean and spacious. We ate at the restaurant for supper and have nothing but good things to say there as well. Overall... more
We stayed here as a stop point on our journey between St. John's NL and Ottawa ON.
Our room was huge, absolutely gigantic for a standard two bed room. There was more than enough space for us and our two children. The beds were extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows. It was the best night sleep our children enjoyed the...

While I have not stayed at the Inn because I have a home in the area, I do come to the Inn for meals which are excellent, especially breakfast. They are hearty compared to our American ones. I enjoy the company of my family and friends there. The service and the atmosphere are excellent.
Pre-booked two nights here and were not disappointed. Lovely clean room with a super comfy king bed. Quiet spot too. We had three meals in the restaurant during our two day stay and enjoyed them all! Great service too!
It was clean, friendly and had a good restaurant. Also the security was good with cameras in the hallways and parking lot.
I would recommend this hotel. It was tidy and charming.
Nice facility, great location, very friendly staff, good restaurant
I had never stayed in Antigonish before so was not sure where to stay whilst there on business. I selected Maritime Inn based on its location and reviews. The main lobby is inviting and front desk staff were very helpful. I had to stay one extra night and they not only accommodated my late change of plans; they also permitted... more
This was my thid stay at this hotel, and as always I was pleased with the experience from the time I entered the hotel until I checked out. Front desk staff are friendly and efficient and answer any questions you may have. The dining room offers a wonderful selection of food with good sized portions and timely service. I have... more
I have stayed at this hotel on a few occasions and have found that the Premium Rooms on the second floor are better not only for size but for location. They are on the second floor and open to an inside hallway, therefore are not drafty like the rooms on the ground level at the back . It is also... more
Our family of 4 stayed at the Maritime Inn for a night in July. We booked the suite which had a 2 bedrooms and a living room. This room was beyond our expectations, really beautiful. It was also very quiet which we appreciated. The suite was so large and there was more than enough space for all of us. Our... more
The Maritime is a very good choice when you travel with pets; no extra charge for pets! The staff is extremely friendly and our room was big, modern, and clean. The room service was really good and well priced. I would definitely come again.
Nice place, very clean, great (new?!) beds in the room.
bien situé , propre , mais aurait besoin de peinture et surtout de nouveau tapis
The exterior of this hotel and its lobby led us to expect a mediocre room and beds. In fact, the room was a good size and the beds were very comfortable. They were also clean and tidy. The staff was very nice and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Motel is on the main st in Antigonish. Convenient for everything in the town.
Motel rooms are modern and clean. Level of service was adequate, but not very personable.
Plenty of free parking.
Breakfast menu is basic. Nothing special at all.
Lunch and dinner menu is better.
Booked via Maritime Inn. They had an Internet special that offered free breakfast which we managed to get. Check in was friendly and efficient. However, given my sister is incapacitated and has trouble using stairs , we asked for a ground floor room. None were available but they provide us with 25$ voucher for food.
The room was decent if...

We spent the night of 9/23/2013 at the Maritime Inn Antigonish. The accommodations were fine but in the morning there was no hot water. After contacting the front desk we were told that the entire hotel was without hot water and they were unable to say when it would be corrected. I understand that things can and do go wrong... more
Every time we go here we are never disappointed. Food is always fresh and service is friendly, knowledgeable and fast. You can never go wrong eating here. We have several allergies and they cater to our every need.
We were just passing through Antigonish on the way back from a trip around Cape Breton, and on our way to PEI. The hotel was very average but suited our purposes.. We had breakfast in the hotel which was also very average and quite expensive for what we got. Our hotel room overlooked a parking lot.
checked in during late afternoon, the gentleman (whom used to work at the university) at the front desk was welcoming and knowledagable. The room was clean and had plenty of towels and tolietries. However the taps in the bathtub were very difficult to turn (we did leave a note on the comment card). The room was tastefully decorated. We booked... more
Pricey, but options are limited in Antigonish. Staff were pleasant on the desk and the rooms are surprisingly more modern than the exterior would lead you to believe. Would have liked fresh brewed coffee in the lobby in the morning!
We had stayed in the Maritime in an earlier visit to Canada and were not disappointed with our return visit. The room was very spacious and the food in the restaurant was very well presented. We were in an executive room and although a bit pricey, the comfort was worth it.
We were absolutely thrilled with our stay at the Maritime Inn. The staff were extremely pleasant, helpful and friendly. The suite 5 of us stayed in was very comfortable and we had our best sleep at this Inn. The room was decorated nicely and impressed my 3 teenager girls. We stayed at 6 different hotels during our travel this summer... more
We stayed for one night on our summer vacation simply because it was where we decided to pull off the road. I wish we could have stayed longer, the hotel was great and the town of Antigonish was very nice. Next summer we will make it one of our destinations and certainly stay at this hotel
Right in downtown, walking distance to restaurants. There's one in the hotel, too, but we didn't eat there. Comfortable beds, quiet rooms.
We only chose to stay in Antigonish because it was halfway along our road trip but what a great discovery! The town and St. Francis Xavier University are charming, with a great pool and lots of nice restaurants. The hotel itself really beat all possible expectations, especially in the service department. Even the hotel restaurant impressed, with a great and reasonably-priced breakfast. The... more
We were late in making our reservation from the visitor's centre in Canso Causeway however they found a King bed for us in this hotel. On arrival we were pleasantly greeted and found the room to be large and most comfortable. Parking just outside the room was great since we were used to being up a flight of stairs elsewhere(usually... more
Reception staff were knowledgeable and helpful. They were willing to take time to talk through recommended sites to visit. Very friendly and accommodating.
My friends and I got into a car accident and literally had nothing but the clothes on our back when we arrived here since we were coming all the way from Ottawa, ON. Rooms were clean, spacious, and nice. But the most awesome thing about this place was the staff. The staff here was absolutely amazing in helping us. The... more
We stayed one night, July 21, 2013 on our way home from Cape Breton.
Our room was on the ground floor with an exterior entrance and parking outside the door. The parking setup is a little unusual in that there are several fewer marked spaces than there are rooms on that side of the hotel. This turned out not to...

We stayed for one night--had a room on first floor and parked right outside the door. We booked online and received a special promotion: free breakfast in the attached cafe. This turned out to be eggs, meat of our choice and home fries--all very good. The staff were very courteous; room was clean and comfortable. Toiletries in bathroom were nice--though there... more
This Inn was a great place to stop while traveling thru Nova Scotia. We stayed one night on our way to Cape Breton and then again on our way back out. Both experiences were wonderful. Frendly staff, clean and very accommodating by allowing us to park our motorcycle under their canopy out of the rain. Convenient to the main highway. There are not many restaurants in the area so we ate at the Inn... more
We popped in after a long drive without a reservation and were happy to get a room. Front desk was pleasant, rooms were great, restaurant served great food, prices not bad. All in all, we were very happy with this option! Only small thing is that there is no elevator to get to the second floor--- lugging suitcases upstairs is... more
My wife and I stopped here on our way from the Eastern Shore to the Cape Breton Highlands park. It was an unseasonably hot day (90F) and the air conditioned room was a great relief! The ability to park right next to our room prevented having to schlep our luggage through the hotel.
Once we were in our room, we...

Great customer service in the hotel and attached restaurant.
Room was clean, well provisioned, very comfortable bed and pillows.
Price was reasonable, as were the restaurant prices.
The hotel is in a great location, in the nicest part of Antigonish- I was rather taken aback by the fact that all the shops were closed on Sunday though!
We were fortunate to just drive in at 7PM and get a room for that night. The room was very clean, and spacious. Love the reading area adjacent to the front desk in the lobby. The staff was pleasant and accommodating.
Stayed here on our drive through to Cape Breton. The room is big I love the drive up and unload next to your room idea. Clean and a huge tv. I think it is a good value compared to others. I like the restaurant in the hotel It was pouring rain and we could just walk into the restaurant and... more
Great downtown location, easy to get to from the highway, lots of parking and comfy beds.
I felt I paid a high price for the king room I booked for 2 nights. It was not a busy weekend, my car was practically the only car parked on the left Wing of the hotel. The bed is huge and comfortable which I prefer, the room is too small and needs a couple more furnishings like an extra... more
Over priced. Good size room and clean. Comfortable beds and small but nice bathroom. Nothing fancy but nicer than basic. The price point was my biggest issue.
Even though the hotel seemed a little over priced for a standard room and with no elevator it was not a bad hotel
We stayed at the Inn while on a trip to the East Coast from Ontario to check out Universities. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are spotless and absolutely charming and the beds are extremely comfortable. We had supper at the Main Street Cafe and the food is great! If my daughter goes to St. FX, we will definitely stay here again when we come to visit!
We stayed at the Maritime Inn Antigonish for seven nights. The hotel was extremely clean and very comfortable. Even though it is on the main street of Antigonish it is very quiet. It is quite conveniently located. It was a very busy trip for us and it was a great place to wind down and relax at the end of... more
Perfect location in the middle of town on the main drag. Extremely clean throughout. One of the most comfortable beds I ever slept in, plus four huge firm amazing pillows. Had two great sleeps, which I often don't do when travelling.

Christmas is usually a pleasant time of the year...unfortunately this season was a sad time for our family, as we travelled home for the funeral. The staff here went out of their way to make our stay fantastic. The restaurant food is really excellent, and they cater to food allergies (celiac). The rooms have been renovated, and are large, clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place.
i have stayed at this hotel twice once in feb. 2011 and again in nov 2012. this hotel has good tate in interior design with a layout that is different compared to other hotel rooms. i stayed in 203 and 212. the first room room (feb 2011) 203 was good almost had a wow factor because of the different layout.... more
This hotel is obviously not new, however it is very clean, well maintained, quiet, and has comfortable beds. The staff are pleasant and helpful, and the dining room food is better than in many, more expensive, hotels (based on 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner).
Had a great stay. The rooms are great and the people are very friendly. The restaurant is very good as well with great food and service. I would recomend the hotel to anyone that is in the area. Extremely helpful staff; carried my heavy luggage upstairs when front desk person ( Thomas) saw that I was struggling ( I have walking mobility issues, and there is no elevator.) We stayed one night in Antigonish, Nova Scotia on a 2 1/2 week trip to the Mairtimes. The staff was pleasant, helpful and efficient. The attached restaurant... more
We chose this hotel because of the close location to St.Fx and we are really pleased with our choice. Our room is newly rennovated, clean and spacious. We stayed at the Maritime Inn this summer while we were in town for a wedding. We really enjoyed our stay at the Maritime Inn in Antigonish. One really important aspect of any stay at a hotel is a clean room and in particular the bathroom. The tub was sparkeling and sheets were snow white. The staff was very friendly, approachable and on time. We will definitely visit the Maritime Inn Antigonish again!
We were sent to the Maritime after finding no rooms available at the Evergreen. The manager there assured us we would like it, and she was right. The rooms were clean and comfortable, albeit nothing special. The hotel staff, restaurant and servers were excellent. We were very surprised to enjoy a great meal in the inn's restaurant. We would definitely... more
The friendly staff is not enough to offset some major service deficiencies which we did not notice the last time we stayed here. Stayed here on a couple of nights in two separate rooms. All clean and tidy but the walls are a little on the thin side, particularly with reference to the bathrooms. Be aware that this is more of a motel than an inn. Wifi connection is good.
WOW!!! This hotel has come a long way from the last time we have visited. I can not express how wonderful the food was in the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The decor was lovely. Mingo Group you have outdone yourself again!! Thank you for making this a rich yet cozy place for us the dine and stay.
I was a little reluctant to stay at a hotel, instead of with relatives. Maritime staff were friendly, and did everything possible to make me feel comfortable away from home.
I booked 13 rooms here in March 2012 and couldn't believe how much the rooms, restaurant had improved over our previous stay. Beds were really comfortable and the comforters made for a good night's sleep. Food in the restaurant was very good, service was quick and friendly. Would recommend to anyone visiting Antigonish.
I stayed 3 nights midweek and found the staff very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean (apparently recently refurbished) and the bed was very comfortable. The floors were dirty (chocolate mm's under the heater), dried tooth paste on the sink, hair in the bath tub and prices are horrible!
Would not recommend this hotel and thought about sleeping in the car for the night if it wasn't winter.
The room overall was clean and the staff friendly, but a bad O'rourke kept emanating from the toilet. This smell appeared to be coming from gases coming out of the toilet, as I noticed bubbles in the water. I forgot to close the bathroom door one evening and it smelled all over the room the next morning. I told the... more

We have had lots of meals here but...recently we had lunch and ordered the fish and chips, the order arrived, and the fish pieces were "highliner triangles yuck! we are maritimers and know great fish. This was unexpected and very dissappointing!
This is a very nice hotel and very welcoming, some of the rooms are outdated and need a facelift. The staff are very helpful and the restaurant has a very nice breakfast & lunch menu. The dinner menu needs a bit more varity. I would recomend this hotel over the 2 other in this town.
The Inn was very clean. The room was very comfortable. The restaurant had a nice menue with a very good wait staff. Overall I recommend the Maritime Inn.
When I arrived at night and was very tired from my long drive, the friendly faces at the Front Desk were a sight for sore eyes. Their smiles woke me up and they were a joy to speak with.
