Food and service are always good. I find the best times to go is during a festival. During festivals(Chinese New Year, Mandarin Anniversary, etc), they serve dishes they usually don't. It gives it a fresh taste from the usual. Always up to try something new!

You have a huge all you can eat buffet of all different foods or a menu to chose from.
Staff are very polite and are always there in time to refill drink soft drinks and coffee free refills

On a Sliding Scale

When it first opened, it was new, fresh and exciting. Now it is older, tired and boring. The main buffet does not change much at all. There is nothing on the menu that would cause you to say "Let's go there!". If you want an overpriced Chinese buffet, go for it.

Horrible food

The food is horrible. Chewy beef and too much garlic in the chop suey. Singapore noodles dry and chicken used instead of pork. Yuk! Not much of a select of desserts.
The cost may be lower than the Golden Gate, but there food is much more tastier!

We go here a few times a year mainly when the crab is on. The food is never top quality but it's pretty good and lots of variety. Something for everyone here. It is a bit price on weekends but being your appetite. You will be full (they don't take debit)

I love the Mandarin, and I Love the AMAZING waitresses!! amazing service but am I the only that notices most of the things are out of a box, like the mashed potatoes? for 26 bucks a person for dinner you'd think they'd actually make the food themselves?

I have always left satisfied from the Mandarin.
I was here this week and the meal was great. 3 large plates, and l left stuffed as usual. Prime rib was really good as were the Chinese dishes.
I have never gone on a week night, so the price was a little less and service was great for a buffet.

We visited the Oshawa Mandarin for lunch since the Pickering one is closed for renovations. The restaurant was busy but the lady at the reception kept things moving pretty quick. It only took about 7 minutes to seat our group of 16.

Great Variety of Food

Haven't been to a Mandarin in years since moving to the states. Definitely was a nice change from the c@!%!y Chinese buffets back in Arizona. Service was ok but I can get past that, otherwise a great experience, hope to go back before I leave town!!

I was disappointed in the variety and taste of the food in the buffet. It was kept as "tidy" as it has been before, and many of the salads had the same "basic taste", not using different dressings as usual.

Nothing special, but quite tasty. Really nice waiting staff. Buffet means little waiting, though last time I was there, they forgot one of our teas. No biggie.

Great choice, good food

The Mandarin has excellent choices and are nicely presented. The prime rib was extremely tasty. It is 17 min from the 401 for those traveling. For a bus load, it was a great option
