Menu always the same. Hong kong house is superior. Food is fresher from hong kong house, and delivery is better from hong kong house. Mandarin prices are too high.
DISGUSTING--lack of sanitary consideration, poor vegetarian choices, food floating in oil and grease, plastic seafood, arrogant manager
The server opened the towel for us with her own hand before we went through the buffet line. i told her it makes sense to use the towel before we begin eating, after going through the line because people often lick their fingers in the line. When she filled...

Food and service are always good. I find the best times to go is during a festival. During festivals(Chinese New Year, Mandarin Anniversary, etc), they serve dishes they usually don't. It gives it a fresh taste from the usual. Always up to try something new!
I like that they have roast beef and mashed potatoes for the picky eaters. Not gonna lie, it's pretty good. The sushi is ok.
They've...

You have a huge all you can eat buffet of all different foods or a menu to chose from.
Staff are very polite and are always there in time to refill drink soft drinks and coffee free refills
Great place to take family for a big get together. Have even seen people have business meetings there. Tons of great food...

Just to get an idea of what to expect , they have only 1 kind of fried rice ( vegetable ! ) , NO Peking duck or even roasted chicken or any dish of sizeable chicken portions and only 2 kinds of beef dishes ( Mongolian and black pepper ) . The grill section is virtually doesn't exist . Limited... more
I like the seafood!! Shrimp and crab legs! When family visits this is one of our favs! The dessert bar is so very good. There is something for everyone at this buffett. Wide selection!!
I was here for lunch with a friend. We were seated right away and the buffet set up was explained to us. Our waitress was very helpful and efficient along with a sense of humor. I believe her name was Leone? I had not been to a Mandarin in years and was really looking forward to it. While there were... more
Really good food. The place was really busy so we had to wait for a table. There were lots of people jammed in the dining room but it was still ok. The good news about being busy is the food was well stocked and fresh. There was something for every taste. The only downfall was the price.
We went here on a whim. It was really really busy. We had to wait about 30 min for a table. The dining room is really tight with alot of people jammed in there. The staff were all pretty good. The food was really really good. They have a wide selection of things. Something for every taste and because it... more
When it first opened, it was new, fresh and exciting. Now it is older, tired and boring. The main buffet does not change much at all. There is nothing on the menu that would cause you to say "Let's go there!". If you want an overpriced Chinese buffet, go for it.
I visit here about 3 times a year and each time I say I won't be back because for the price you pay for dinner you may as well eat at the keg and leave with a satisfied stomach instead of bloated cuz you can eat all you want. If you like to eat lots this place is for you.... more
The food is horrible. Chewy beef and too much garlic in the chop suey. Singapore noodles dry and chicken used instead of pork. Yuk! Not much of a select of desserts.
The cost may be lower than the Golden Gate, but there food is much more tastier!
All you can eat c@!p. This place is a cattle trough for the obese. Food is terrible and NOT Chinese.
It was our first time dined in this restaurant last Sunday. The food was very fresh. There were so many selections. The staff was very friendly and very attentive. For sure we will go back regularly.
Typical buffet but quality of food better at this chain. Love the sushi for its limited selection. Decode is ok. Very friendly.
Its the same as all the rest of the Mandarins. A Ton of food, not too salty, not too garlicky,.lacking in any strong taste,.....like hospital food but tons of it. The salads always reasonable and so are the soups. I just think it is starting to get a bit expensive for what it is. A dollar less and I may... more
The food is good and the atmosphere. The restaurant is very clean. I wish they had more room to park cars there that all. Weekend are insane there. Yes you do eat too much food when the variety is so much.
The food is always fresh and plenty of it very clean restaurant. If you leave hungry it's your own fault.
The food is always the same, not bad but not great. The sodium levels in the food are threw the roof. The only other problem is the amount of overweight people hoofing around. Like seriously these people should be at Jenny Craig not the Mandarin....
There is plenty of parking and it's easy to get to, pack your patients when...

We go here a few times a year mainly when the crab is on. The food is never top quality but it's pretty good and lots of variety. Something for everyone here. It is a bit price on weekends but being your appetite. You will be full (they don't take debit)
My family visited the mandarin expecting an enjoyable dinner. The food was good, the atmosphere was what I remembered but the service was disgusting.
I had to ask for cab crackers four times before our waitress remembered. She stepped on my foot TWICE! She only filled our water once and seemed p@!%!d off to be asked to do it. She...

I love the Mandarin, and I Love the AMAZING waitresses!! amazing service but am I the only that notices most of the things are out of a box, like the mashed potatoes? for 26 bucks a person for dinner you'd think they'd actually make the food themselves?
I've been to 5 or 6 Mandarin restaurants, all around Toronto. What is good about them is that the food tends to be consistent from location to location, service is usually acceptable to good, and the price is fair. I prefer Imperial Buffet to Mandarin, but others chose to go to Mandarin on this day.
It was a Monday night...

I have always left satisfied from the Mandarin.
I was here this week and the meal was great. 3 large plates, and l left stuffed as usual. Prime rib was really good as were the Chinese dishes.
I have never gone on a week night, so the price was a little less and service was great for a buffet.
First of all, the whole customer service atmosphere is horrible. They are all rude, and VERY unprofessional. The manager of the restaurant was most definitely the most unprofessional. Went talking to him regarding a concern he was rude, didn't care about the customers opinion, and talked to fellow employees right in front of you in another language. The food was... more
Went here yesterday for my Mother in law's 80th birthday. The variety of food is amazing. It is just too bad, it all tastes so bland. The Black Pepper Steak was good, the beef fried rice and the noodles tasted very bland. The fried chicken wings had no taste. I had a slice of roast beef, I asked for well... more
A group of us 'young seniors' (65 and young at heart!) have been to the Oshawa Mandarin a few times recently, for lunch or dinner. Personally, I'm not a big buffet fan, but I've been impressed with the freshness and variety of the Mandarin's offerings. Service is always polite and attentive, while the 20% senior discount takes the edge off... more
As mentioned in the title review. The quality of the food is average at best. With such an incredibly large selection, it's not possible to have a correlation between quality and quantity. That said, the service is exceptional. From the greeting at the door, through the entire service and as we exited. The most dissappointing part of the meal was... more
We visited the Oshawa Mandarin for lunch since the Pickering one is closed for renovations. The restaurant was busy but the lady at the reception kept things moving pretty quick. It only took about 7 minutes to seat our group of 16.
The restaurant is very nicely decorated and I liked the layout.
The food was just okay. It just...

The Pickering location was closed for renovations so it was busier than usual but after a short wait we were seated and tucking into the well stocked salad bar. This place is not for tiny eaters but for me I get my money's worth. Lovely waitress and Chinese beer plus so many choices - and that is what we came... more
Haven't been to a Mandarin in years since moving to the states. Definitely was a nice change from the c@!%!y Chinese buffets back in Arizona. Service was ok but I can get past that, otherwise a great experience, hope to go back before I leave town!!
I was disappointed in the variety and taste of the food in the buffet. It was kept as "tidy" as it has been before, and many of the salads had the same "basic taste", not using different dressings as usual.
great variety of good food, have eaten at many buffets all over North America, and for the price this is my favorite
Went for a family dinner and absolutely love the variety, there's something for everyone. Service was wonderful.
recently our family attended my wife's mother's 90th birthday at this popular north oshawa eating establishment. whether you are in oshawa as a visiting sporting team, a large group, or just in for a cozy 'two for dinner' engagement, the mandarin is fully prepared to handle your occasion. the food is truely varied, excellent and of course the buffet presentation... more
Mandarin is always one of those restaurants that, im my opinion, can only be handled once and a while. It generally has a very good selection of hot and cold foods. There is a sushi bar that is probably below average tasting; in my perspective, if you are going to do sushi, do it right. You can eat a healthy... more
Thank-you Mandarin for hosting our work xmas dinner. There were almost 90 of us and we had one of the rooms all to ourselves - service was great. We went to the Mandarin for lunch with friends. From the time you enter the restaurant you are made fell welcome. Every staff member you meet welcomes you. Nothing special, but quite tasty. Really nice waiting staff. Buffet means little waiting, though last time I was there, they forgot one of our teas. No biggie.
We enjoy going to the Mandarin as there is always so much chioce we can find something to suite even the pickiest of our family.
We used to go to the Mandarin and the we were gettin coupons for buy one get one free from the imperial and when we went there we said that we would never go back to the Manderan even though it is 10 blocks from our house. The food is great
Just strap on the feedbag and go! Great selection and a very well kept, friendly establishment. We've been to other Mandarin's and this one has always appeared to be the best. Great service - sometimes too attentive - great food and great staff.
Went to the Mardarin on Sat Dec 1st. Family Wedding Dinner. Great choice of food for everybody. We had Chinese people with us who most enjoyed it.
There was a great choice of food for everybody. Hot and Cold and very fresh. I would recoomend it for the reason of the quality of food and the freshness was very good....

Very good restaurant, well managed, a lot of food, many choices, convenient location. Prices are a littble bit too high.
I love the Mandarin, but I find it too pricey for what it is. My kids don't nearly eat enough to justify the cost. If it was a bit cheaper, I would go more.
Been here a few times, nice selection of food and nice location and close to home
Mandarin is a very nice resturant with a wide selection to chose from well priced dinner for 2 with drinks was $45,00
Great quality food and lots of options. Service is always nice and fast. They were packed but still found space for 20 of us within 15 minutes.
The Mandarin has excellent choices and are nicely presented. The prime rib was extremely tasty. It is 17 min from the 401 for those traveling. For a bus load, it was a great option
we go every year for our anniversary dec.31,we have going for about years, been married 47 years and we'll there this year
We have eaten there a few times and always felt we paid to muchor the quality of the food (not the quality always alotnof choice).
