I had the pleasure of dining with family at Luisa recently. While being married to an Italian who is a fantastic cook, I sometimes am very critical of Italian restaurants because they usually don't compare to what I get at home.
Luisa is refreshingly different in offering not only the "standard" fare in Italian cuisine but also quite a few...

You have to book for this restaurant as it's quite small and very popular and after having eaten there I can understand why. The menu is not large but the food is so delicious and the staff were so friendly and so Italian, what more could you ask for.
Probably the best lasagna that I have ever had the privilege to enjoy; service was excellent. Arrived around 5:00 on a Thursday evening and the restaurant rapidly filled up. Waitress was very pleasant and even came from Italy (Venice) and the meal arrived quickly. They appeared to be a bit short staffed, but the owner made a point of assisting... more
Rocco and Rosa continue to offer a wonderful Italian experience in a crowded Italian market in St. Albert. Gluten free options as well as veg as an option to pasta. Do not miss the Caeser salad, simply the best in the universe.
We have been to Luisa's many times and overall have never been disappointed. It is a great place for a casual evening and before the Theatre. I love the pasta and Rosa's special sauce and her Limoncello tiramisu. It is wonderful!
You will need a reservation. Very small, but personable service. Excellent food. Rosa is always smiling and will come to your table if she knows it is your first time eating a Luisa's.
Light and delicious bruscheta - made fresh! This alone is worth the drive to St. Albert! Pescatore is yummy too. Saved room for their tiramisu as what is a good dinner without dessert and nightcap. The tiramisu was ok but their specialty coffee is something one should try -add a shot of Baileys to kick it up a notch.

This small, intimate restaurant has it all. Family run business, great authentic Italian food and decent prices.
We hadn't been to Luisa's for awhile so we were excited for a nice meal with homemade Italian food The service was terrible. The room is boxy and not very nice, you wouldn't eat there for the ambiance. Our server had a difficult time with the english language and therefore communication was an issue. The dish I ordered I was... more
We have always had a great experience at Luisa's. Whether ordering from the menu or having the owners suggest a dish for us. The food is cooked with passion and it shows. The serving staff honestly enjoy their job and do it well. Very hard to find good service now a days. Great food great service you cannot go wrong.
When you want to feel special visit Rocco and Rosa! They make you feel part of the family. They have chefs that are actually from Italy! Their specials are definitely the way to go but don't forget to have Rosa's deserts. Don't miss the Prawn appetizer or the bruschetta.
My wife and I ate at Luisa's last Friday. We started with the bruschetta and it was very good.
My wife had the veal parmigana and I had the special which was a lamb shank. My wife enjoyed her meal but mine was not very good. The lamb was not well seasoned, quite bland. I like my lamb with mint...

Good food at reasonable prices. The lamb shank and pescatore excellent!theres a reason this little restaurant is full!
Luisa's is a friendly little Italian eatery smack dab in the middle of tiny downtown St. Albert. For a long time, it didn't have any competion in the area, but although this has changed in the last several months, it is still my first choice when I'm in the mood for an Italian meal and don't want to cook it... more
We recently travelled from Vancouver Island, BC to St. Albert. Our first evening there we called Luisa's restaurant, hoping for a reservation. We were told they were very sorry but were booked up! My husband sadly expressed his disappointment and was then told that if we could wait for an hour and a half, and would take a "high table"... more
Just had my usual fix! The brushetta full of garlic and basil, just the way I like it! Had the tortellini with chicken as my usual main and a cappucino and tiramisu for a night cap :)
Truly a surprise. We never expected such a quality. We followed a recommendation and it was true: the best Italian pasta in Edmonton-St. Albert area. Without any doubt one of the best in Canada (we have been around in many big cities, with 'Little Italies" and I do not remember something so tasty and so good). Delicious sauces and pasta... more
Great food, made with real passion. Very friendly service and great prices as well. A very rare find these days.
The food, the ambience, the people; all combine to make for a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend it!
Luisa's is the best. We went there for dinner the other night, we were greeted by the owner rosa who puts her absolute heart into her service , the place is small and reservations are a must. With all the other italian resterants that have opened up, it remains to be the best in our opinion! The food is authentic... more
If you like being given the run around and rude owners/staff, this is the pace to be. Luisa's is run by pretentious, deceptive people who rae their customers and success for granted. Yes, the food is wonderful, but the overall experience will eave you with a bad taste in your mouth.
Authentically prepared and reliably delicious Italian food with friendly owners and servers.
Highlights include bruschetta, linguine picante, lasagne and tiramisu...but everything is excellent.
Usually two sittings and reservations are a good idea.
Food is fantastic. The place is small but cozy. We get take out there sometimes even when we want to stay home. The best restaurant in St Albert.
Saturday evening, party of 8 for a birthday dinner. Waitress took forever to take our order and then bring our food. We got our entrees at 7:05. At 7:30 owner asks us to leave before we finish the entree so she could seat next party. No offer of dessert/coffee or anything else as they simply wanted us to leave right... more
Love getting out to this place! There is always something new to try! Like the atmosphere! Just great food and service all round!!!!
There were 6 of us dining there this evening 4 kids and 2 adults. The meals were excellent and such quantity we had to bring some home. For all of us including desert the price was less than I expected. Would I teturn I certainly will.
My husband and I went to Luisa's for dinner after reading the excellent reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor. The atmosphere is casual--it is not fancy, so if you are after a more 'posh' experience, you might want to try the River Street Grill. The wine list is quite lean and unimaginative and there are only two options for dessert,... more
Nice Italian family restaurant feel. Good portions and food quality. A nice night out at a fair price.
We were going to St Albert with Italian food in mind, I decided to check out restaurants in the google. The name Luisa Ristorante came up with very favourable reviews. Surprise, surprise, it is evert bit as good as the reviews say, when we arrived we were asked if we had a reservation, we did not, but we were seated... more
loved the atmosphere.... limited menu but very good... good portions and consistently good food... prices for st albert are exceptional.... very casual service... not fancy but relaxed and fun
Luisa's has always been and will continue to be my favorite place to eat in St. Albert. Although the service has been slow at times, the servers are very quick to apologise and have given us free desserts to make up for the wait. It is no wonder that the wait for service is sometimes an issue as people around... more
We visit Luisa regularly, probably every two weeks, because we love the food, the owners, the staff, the atmosphere - and the fact that we are treated like family. Rocco and Rosa and their wonderful team make us so very welcome and never fail to wow! us with the delicious fare from the kitchen. On days when we can't make... more
Luisa's Ristorante is a quaint little restaurant in the heart of St. Albert, Alberta. They have some great starters. Their brushetta and sambucca shrimps are my favorites. They have a wide variety of homemade fresh pastas. This night most of us had the seafood lasagna. it was very good. They don't have a very large wine selection, but what they... more
Traditional, family restaurant. Small but excellent food and great service. Everyone's meal was excellent, okay wine menu. You won't be disappointed.
We recently went to Louisa's after not having been there for a long time. We made a reservation for a Saturday evening and were seated immediately. We waited at least 10 minutes for someone to come to our table. When the waitress finally came to the table, she apologized and said that she and another waitress both thought the other... more
We keep going back.. We have never ordered off their amazing menue, becuase their daily specials always temp us. They are always trying new and old recipe's very nice place, staff and owner.
Great little mom and pop restaurant in downtown St. Albert. The pastas are made fresh daily. We always enjoy this for our "date night". It's not a very big place, but we've never had a problem getting in, even without a reservation. You may have to wait for a bit on a weekend night if no reservation, but it's worth... more
My wife & I were visiting St. Albert recently and decided to try the recommendations of other Trip Advisor reviewers. We were not disappointed. A lovely little bistro - must try the bruscetta! It's amazing!
We love the food, the staff and the atmosphere at Luisa's. Its a family run restaurant that offers really great Italian food at a reasonable price.
I would highly recommend the bruchetta and the fettuccine picante. Both are so good!
We've been to Luisa's several times and have absolutely no complaints. The food and the service are consistently top notch.
Rocco & Rosa have given us a wonderful place to go for Italian food - better than the many places we've eaten in Italy or anywhere in the Edmonton area. The food is always fresh and tasty - and the prices are reasonable. We return here over and over because we always get lots of good food and a warm... more
