Dropped in here today because L'Ange just happened to be near us at lunchtime. I can genuinely say that the Chicken and Mango wrap, with side of a portobello mushroom and roasted garlic soup, and a Pecan and Strawberry dressed salad was the best 'soup and sandwich' meal I have ever had. The ingredients, flavours and standard of cooking was... more
We enjoyed a litre of red sangria on a warm summer afternoon. The reception we received decided us to book a table on the patio for dinner. Monkfish and scallops were our main courses. The food was excellent and the service exemplary. The owner is a wonderful woman, and her personality, and that of her chef, help make this fee... more
Run of the mill food, filthy table cloths, no wine list and no air conditioning in the sweltering heat...just don't bother. The service was OK, but there wasn't much to offer. This is a cramped restaurant with an open kitchen and in summer is sweltering. Perhaps in the winter it might be a cozy place, but the food was only... more
I've always liked visiting Sparks Mall and having read the reviews in advance, I was looking forward to dining at L'Ange. Although we all had wine, our water glasses were not refilled during our meal. It was lunch time during the week and the restaurant was not busy. The server did not come back to check if there was anything... more
I eat lunch at L'Ange occasionally. It's a great place to meet a friend or two, or to have a quiet meal by yourself. The menu is eclectic with a definite slant towards lunchtime fare. Ingredients are invariably fresh and of high quality. The salads are pleasantly dressed with a house vinagrette, and the soups are always tasty and interesting.... more
I brought three colleagues to L'Ange Cafe for lunch last month. The ambiance is very Parisian Left Bank, quaint and elegant. You can see the chef at work in the open kitchen. I had the mustard pork which was outstanding, the perfect blend of savoury and sour. The chef uses her own homemade mustard, which you can also buy there.... more
This cafe is located on the pedestrian mall (Sparks St) and seemed to be a popular spot for lunch. We walked by several times and the patio was full, so when we saw an empty table, we grabbed it! It does have the feeling of being in Europe, which adds to the experience. The service was great. We didn't have... more
My wife and I spend quite a bit of time in France and Italy, so it is nice to come across a place like l'Ange, where the decor feels truly Mediterranean.
The food was great - we had a potato/leek soup and the chef made a vegetarian chili for me (even though it was not on the menu), which was...

We stopped here for lunch while Buskerfest was on. It looked cute, so we stopped in.
We seated ourselves at a patio seat. The table and chairs were metal so its unclear if they were clean but we really weren't concerned.
We were handed a "Buskerfest" menu printed on plain paper. There was a small but interesting assortment of items...

The floors are filthy: chunks of bread, and crumbs all over the carpeted area, and crumbs and stains on the tiled areas. Salt and crumbs all over the oil cloth table cloths which were also tacky to the touch. Attentive wait staff, with stains all over his shirt. There is an open kitchen, so you inevitably leave smelling like fish.... more
Great lunch today at this spot on Sparks. 4 of us and all were very happy with our choices. They had a great lemon cheesecake.
I just recently discovered this little gem on Sparks Street. The food is very good, homemade and the portions are generous. Staff is friendly and the prices are very good. It's a great place for lunch downtown.
Good food and ambience. Not too many tables and not too noisy even on a busy Friday. Good chicken
