This is an exceptional resort. From start to finish, we had an amazing time, and every little detail from food to fireplace to feather bed was taken care of perfectly. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable, and made sure that we got the most out of our stay. I can't wait to go back!
The wifey and I went to Langdon Hall to celebrate our 1yr anniversary. We wanted to go somewhere very special to mark this milestone and Langdon Hall is just about the fanciest place you can get in our area. 5 diamond, 5 star, chateau relais and whatever other accolades, sound super impressive and the expectations were high to match. There is no doubt that it is a stunning venue with the... more
Beautiful presentation of extremely tasty food. Excellent service and lovely garden room.
Seriously fabulous restaurant and venue. Had a meeting with a client here and we were given a conference room for the meeting before heading to dinner. The conference room was beautiful with homey touches here and there (no shoes allowed!) and delicious snacks to get us through a long meeting.
Dinner was superb both the food and the service. For the appetizer, I had the lobster, followed by...

This past December, my fiancée and I stayed at Langdon Hall on the "Gourmet Getaway" package. This included two nights' stay, two country breakfasts, two dinners (three-course and tasting menu), and a half-bottle of wine and cheese. Our main point of comparison for our experience was Manoir Hovey, another Relais & Châteaux estate where we enjoyed a comparable package last December.

Langdon Hall is a gorgeous estate that has a spa, dining room, and accomodations. I first felt like I was driving to someone's house, but once on the property, I could see that this was a place to dine and/or relax. My review is based on the dining part of this establishment. I was there for the Country Breakfast Buffet. Food items were locally sourced and laid out nicely. The selection was... more
We spent two nights at Langdon Hall on a gourmet package. The room was big, clean, well-planned, and very comfortable. The dining room was very handsome, and the food was superb. We had two meals from the "breakfast table" that were as good as any breakfast we've had. The breads and pastries especially were fine. The one three course dinner was great, my wife's halibut the best she ever had.... more
My wife and I came to this place with very high expectations. We loved Jason Bangerter's food at his times at Auberge du Pommier and Luma. Unfortunately we did not find the same perfection at Langdon Hall. Meals were lacking of harmony, balance and flavor. In general it was a disappointing experience. If you plan to have a sophisticated dinner for $100+ per person look for some other place.
My husband and I went there for our wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect, from the wine to the octopus. They added such a nice touch by writing 'Happy Anniversary' in chocolate on my desert plate. We will be going back.
Great food and amazing ambiance. The outdoor patio is wonderful.
This is the place to go if you want to get away. Isolated but with nice trails for walking. A golf course not too far away. The rooms are always beautiful & well kept. I got a room in the cloister wing, not far from the spa. The spa is a bit overpriced than what you would normally find in the city. But at a resort it's standard. Food is always delicious & they have an outdoor pool as well as a... more
A great "hotel" restaurant. Dishes are unique and use extremely fresh ingredients. Wine list is thorough with an excellent selections, strong in french, no great bargains but markups are standard. Halibut amuse was outstanding, as were the guinea hen and lamb loin entrees at our table. Waiter this evening was thorough but robotic. Still one of the finer resort dining... more
Received a gift certifcate and used it to get a pedicure with my sister at Langdon Hall's spa. Great service and a wonderful time. We also had tea at restaurant which was expensive but such a treat. Lovely food and presentation. Great service. If I could afford it I would go regularly. It is a pricey treat.
The food was OK, not great. The service was inattentive and almost rude. Waiter did not care at all, and showed very little care for bumping my chair very hard twice. Our table was not of interest to him at all, and the restaurant was not even busy. Go to a more polished establishment where they care about how their... more
Langdon hall is very fine dining. Excellent staff that know the food, great sommeliers, very interesting food, and great wines. The atmosphere is lovely. Prices are a bit too high, but they really do put great ingredients into the food. Small portions.
We've eaten at Langdon on several occasions (breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea), and just about every single meal we've had here has quite simply been one of the best we've ever had. Period. The food is incredible, and the service fantastic. Cannot recommend highly enough - not to be missed.
Afternoon Tea
- Service was painfully slow. Not only were staff about 12 years old and utterly unsuited a $38 afternoon tea level of service but were dreadfully slow (we often went 20 minutes without seeing a server even look in our direction...it took almost a half an hour to go from getting our bill to paying for our bill).
- We arrived to the table to find the butter/cream melted in the...

For that very special occasion Once in a blue moon, food is exquisite, service excellent and friendly
Langdon Hall is one of the most historic places in the area. It is reminiscent of the old South. Everything is Sumptuous. The Menu changes regularly and ingredients are supplied as much locally as possible.
Do your research. It is a bit on the pricey side but this is where memories are made.
For the average wage earner, this is a special outing indeed. The wine server was rather pushy, it wasn't even 11 am yet! We told him no twice, then ordered to get him away from us, I suppose that is his job, but no means no. We have not been there since the executive chef has changed. There appears to... more
What a wonderful way to spend a cold winters night with a wonderful friend. Walking up to the main house from the parking area was the first experience. Langdon Hall remains our go-to choice when we're looking for a special meal. It's priced at the level of the best in Toronto, and justifies that with consistently interesting choices and first class presentation. The only things that ever seem less than well arranged are the air conditioning, which seems to save its off days for one of our summer... more
The food and presentation was amazing, the service was excellent - never a dry glass, very attentive service. Each course was custom and unique and absolutely delicious. The new Chef at Langdon is great, very friendly and knowledgeable about food and creates some very delicious experiences.
Great for retreating - on all levels. Good meeting space, nice trails, wonderful food, great service. Lovely setting, excellent service. I'd like to play here someday....just be.
We have been here for Christmas dinner at least five other times. All have been great. This year the service leaved a lot to be desired. Our reservation was for four thirty. We were seated ten minutes after our time. Can understand this because of the time if year but when we sat down there were plenty of empty tables.... more
We have been going to Langdon Hall for about 15 years and have never been disappointed. The commitment shown to the rooms as well as the food and service is amazing. Yes, it is expensive,
but what better way to celebrate a special occasion. We really take advantage of the grounds too.
We were looking for somewhere special to stop for a birthday drink, and the thought of the patio at Langdon Hall came to mind. It is so quiet and the outdoor seating area is arranged in cozy groupings which make it feel like you are visiting someone's private country house. An elderly person in our party had to use the... more
This place is very nice. It became instant favourite place for special occasions. It has a nice atmosphere, it is very comfortable and you are looked after. Food is amazing. This restaurant in the country manor of the same name sparkles with great dinner choices, superb food combinations, fresh greens, a huge wine selection, and the sweetest tastiest prettiest desserts. The service matches the food in its excellence. Extremely knowledgeable and devoted wait staff make this dining experience pleasurable, fun, and relaxing. This is a top restaurant in any locale!
We made reservations for a birthday dinner and had the tasting menu with one wine pairing.
The food presentation was okay, the flavours of the food were good. The wine pairings on the whole were very good as they try and pair wines that are not available in the LCBO. The accommodation of food sensitivities was good (although the gluten...

We have dined at Langdon Hall more than a dozen times and for the most part, the food is excellent with wonderful presentation and attentive service. Celebrated a family birthday just for dinner. We did not stay the night this time. Love the quaintness of the restaurant. Menu selections change with the season and the food was prepared perfectly. Just held my wife's 50th there last night and it was an over the top experience. There were 10 of us so the gave us the Red Room which was perfect. We had a glassed sitting area off of the room so we could have a drink and talk for the first 45 minutes, then went for dinner. The room's... more
