Quelle découverte ! Sublime petit resto, bien situé, merveilleusement sympatique.
This compact bistro began life as a purveyor of dairy products (the "cheese and milk" of its name). When that proved too confining, the staff opened up the menu -- quite successfully. Now the cramped corner space is filled nightly with neighborhood regulars, post-grads, and moneyed gourmands from upscale quartiers. They squeeze in around tipsy wood tables to partake in starters like red deer... more
"""Repas extrahordinaire. Cuisine inventive, et tr??s belle carte des vins, dont beaucoup d'importations priv??es. Malheureusement, ce restaurant est maintenant ferm??."""
"""Beautiful place, beautiful people and oh the food! The food deserves many awards and ovations as do the owners and chefs. A place to go to for a romantic or business lunch or supper or just be pampered."""
"""good idea, more desserts if you want, or none if you prefer more veggies, etc."""
Did not appreciate the experience after good reviews. Overrated.
We went here for our anniversary dinner. The menu here changes often, so I will just say that this place is a foodie's dream. Fresh, innovative and tasty courses served by informative, polite and courteous staff. Definitely get the tasting menu, and if it is not available, have them put together a selection. You won't be disappointed. It is intimate, so I wouldn't recommend for a large... more
* Deal or no deal? *In classic bistro style, the menu is on a chalk board. It is divided into 4 sections of small bites, apps, mains, and desserts. Started off with a smoked mackerel risotto croquette. The smokiness interplayed beautifully with the creaminess of the risotto which was inside a perfect crunchy breading. It was a complex flavour profile which combined nicely with a glass of... more

The Bishop Street extension lives up to the reputation of its Plateau sibling... good food, great wine pairings, a nice idea with the choice of 3, 4 or 5 plates all at a very good price... marred only by the silent 'crop spraying' of a somewhat gassy waiter
Amazing food. This resteraunt is one of my favorites in Montreal.
They change their name and the adress: La Montée 1424, rue Bishop, Montreal, QC H3G 2E6
New downtown location is very nice, food is great if you like multiple small portions. Good wine selection.
One of the best most interresting restaurant in the city.Tapas like formula with amazing tastiness and creativity;Martin Juneau is the hottest young chef in town...and owner-sommelier Hugo deschenes is a great match.Probably the city`s best;the move to th
Cutting-edge modern French cuisine. Dazzling flavor combinations! Comfortable setting with terrace dining optional. This is state-of- the-art cooking in Montreal. NEW ADDRESS: 1424, Rue Bishop 514-289-9921 Now called: La Montee
I will vote for this restaurant for one reason - so you could update your information. This restaurant has moved to 1424 Bishop. go to their website for update (lamontee.ca) the food is always exquisite . they have changed their menu slighly in the sense
This restaurant has moved to Bishop St. New location loses much of the charm, but the food is as great as ever. The "this is not a bouillabaise" is to die for. Desserts are disappointing.
Moved on Bishop Street, Downtown and now called La Montée. Same team, same excellent food.
An amazing wine selection blended with wonderfully creative foods. This is truly one of the best restaurants in Montreal. A real gem.
Beware They are no longer on Villeneuve St. They moved a year ago downtown
Overrated. Poor value/cost ratio, with a shameless tendency by some staff to up-sell the wine.
Great inventive market-of-the-day food and great wine list. Service can be slow.
This is a fun spot in the Plateau, but takes itself a little too seriously (which is surprising, given the slightly scandalous irony of the name!). Food was well prepared and well paired with wines, but the portions tended towards the misery, even for a "petits plats" approach.
Our hotel concierge made reservations and when we arrived at the restuarant they refused to honor them.
Extraordinary! The owner, obviously passionate about his offerings, did a wonderful job explaining the dishes and wines. The servers were friendly, unobtrusive, and professional. The food was beautifully prepared, innovatively presented, and each dish was such an interesting combination of tastes and textures. For instance, the venison tartare with lemon foam and Yukon gold potato crisps... more
... more
Uncertain and tasteless cooking with dubious combinations! The "cook"(?)
Started as a wine-and-cheese bar that specialized in dishes enhanced with the odd bit of fromage, La Montee de Lait now offers French cuisine with featured choice ingredients like wild salmon, deer, sweetbreads and sea bass. Chef Juneau offers a combination of offbeat flavors and up-to-date cooking techniques. A small and cozy restaurant in the Outremont area, this is a great place to enjoy... more
La Montée de Lait is a fine dining restaurant serving food from the gourmet local cuisine. The restaurant also has an extensive award winning wine list, making this a perfect place to dine in the city. Call or visit their website for reservations and more information.
