This place is open late, and as a worker in the hospitality industry in Halifax, this place is legendary. Come try the cheesecakes, which this place is known for. The menu offers light snacks, wine and excellent desserts. Also has live jazz. Its Halifax's little underground secret! enjoy!

unfortunately I don't like cheesecake, but the person I was with ensured me I was really missing out. So I guess it must have been really good. Unique atmosphere...great place to take a date. Have some drinks and enjoy a good meal.

La Cave is a great date restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere and probably the best cheesecake in town. The regular food is very good as well and it is definitely worth a visit.

The ultimate date restaurant. Private and cosy with lots of little rooms where you can go have a nice romantic dinner. The food is great and the service is good. Plus they claim to have the best cheesecake in town and I find it hard to argue with them.

Ahh the memories. I took many a date to the cave to end an excellent night. Great little "caves" to sit in, old candles in wine bottles and the fantastic cheesecake. A GREAT place to go to just with a date, or bring an angry spose to to calm him/her down. I highly reccomend

Very intimate place for a rendezvous, with private little rooms for two. Get there early in evening to enjoy excellent coffee and cheesecake. One drawback - minimum charge in the evenings.

Ahh... the Cheesecake king rides again! This little dungeon of delectible (is that how u spell it?) desserts carries a decent selection of basic dishes. (Though I was surprised they carried a gnocchi). The meals are consistantly good and they create many meals in their teeny tiny kitchen.

I was very impressed with the atmosphere at La Cave. A great place for a first date and enjoy great food and wine. A must for anyone in the Halifax area. Allow some time as you won't want to leave quickly.

I can't believe the ratings on this page! A friend brought me a piece of take-out cheesecake once and it was so good, I thought I'd give the food a try. LaCave is cave-like (dark and dingy), the food was cold and burnt (I don't know how they did both) and the service was terrible (but then again, if the food is always that bad they probably get nothing but complaints - I guess that would make... more

The real reason to come here is for some late night cheesecake. The food is ok, but it's in the heart of Pizza Corner. Save some cash and get pizza you mortal fool! Service is bad, the atmosphere is claustrophic, and it's quiet as a crypt, i.e. a perfect place for a night cap with a date.
