I enjoyed my stay. We weren't in the room a lot and the huge bed was very comfortable. If you aren't looking for a luxurious room, then this is for you. Our room had some issues such as the closet door being off the hook, the bathroom being cramped because the toilet was out so far, and some stains in the carpet, but it was spacious and clean. We were there for one night and got an exceptional... more
Very reasonable and close to the memorial centre in Victoria. We originally were not happy with the room we were given, smelled smokey and old. We called the front desk and they quickly moved us to a new room that was 100% better. It is an older place, but you get what you pay for.
used to stay at this Travelers when I visited Victoria from up-Island . Seemed to be used largely by Vancouver Island residents as a basic, convenient stop-over with a restaurant nearby. It's a bit more stripped down - no buns or bagels with your morning coffee - but much the same. SAfe parking. Good shower, quiet.
Despite seeing an overall low rating for the hotel, we had a very pleasant stay for a reasonable price. The room was clean and spacious, with a big bed, and a nicely lit vanity mirror by the entrance. The staff were very friendly and helpful; our key card refused to work each evening during our two-night stay, but they were quick to accommodate. Some questionable clientele in the hotel, but no... more
The pictures are deceiving. This hotel is very old and rundown. The room was freezing and the heat didn't work. The front desk staff were super friendly, and did what they could(provided a couple extra blankets). I probably would not stay at this hotel again.
Clean basic hotel room, helpful staff, coffee, microwave, fridge in room, air conditioning. Good location with several good restaurants and coffee shops nearby. I was there on a busy summer weekend in summer, no rowdy guests but was on ground floor near benches outside and on a lovely summer night people lingered to talk right outside my window and with very poor soundproofing on windows it was... more
building is showing it's age, and looks worn and tired. Room was clean enough and comfortable enough. The main complaint with the room, ( other than the lack of a maid for the two days we stayed), were the tiny towels in the bathroom. The staff were friendly enough, and it was fairly quiet. We have stayed in hotels in the same condition and state of cleanliness and paid a lot more. Overall,... more
For low income travellers or someone that needs a room real cheap for a night.
Arrived to find the front desk busy, but with the hotel staff chatting with some friends. I stayed 2 nights and it was extremely noisy with people running up and down the hall to as late as 3:00 AM. When I phoned the front desk was told that they had been told but nothing changed. The bathroom had not been cleaned in a long time with grit and grime in the sinks as well as stains and mildew on... more
Great location close to Everything but i little bit noisy du to traffic
Only thing I really didn't like was not having an extra blanket so I could get rid of the disgusting bed spread.
TV doesn't work, kept defaulting to a censor screen. The refrigerator freezer had a broken door, even after repotting this to the front desk, they only looked at it but didn't fix it or check back to see if the problem continued.
The hotel was fine for the price charged for a busy long weekend, I was lucky to get a room at all! The room was warm and opening the window was necessary, however, it was on the ground floor and not very secure. Window had to remain locked at night and when vacant as a result. Parkade under hotel was convenient. Location was within walking distance to downtown restaurants.
it was nice, but after walking through Butschart gardens wife and I were pooped to much walking for us. Restaurants close by were nice and food was delicious. Only bad thing was dead bolt on the room door was not lined up and could not be used. I informed the clerk inn the morning upon check out.
This place has good staff and a good location...but it's an aging hotel that has been needs a lot of help. Air conditioners are old, noisy and don't always work. Cabinets have broken bits. Cords are not always long enough or have to be moved about the room to be plugged in. Beds look nice but are rather stuff to sleep on. It was cheep for downtown though...and I got what I paid for
Very nice, thank you.
This was an overnight stay on business. I was trying to keep costs down but the hotel was shabby and not terribly clean, especially in the bathroom. Towels were clean but threadbare. Also found at least 2 different kinds of bugs in the room. Hallways and walls were thin, could hear everyone and everything.....thankfully no one was partying.
Overpriced . Dirty , uncomfortable beds . Overwhelming smell if cigarettes .
Upon check in, you're made to sign a waiver stating you won't smoke in the hotel, yet the room reeked of smoke and had numerous burn holes in the bedding. The bed was horrible and seemed many years old. I would definitely look for a different place next time I visit the city.
We just needed a bed for 8 hours until the early ferry. This place was economic (~$100) so we took it sight unseen while transiting to Victoria from Sea Kayaking up in the Broken Islands. The bed was the best part. Clean, firm with good pillows. The A/C didn't work and the front desk was clueless as to how to... more
Great location and friendly front desk people. But the microwave in the room didn't work, and the hairdryer burnt out, we got another after two requests. We were awoken at 5.00am by the front door man entering our room, never did find out why that happened. The other thing was that our rubbish wasn't emptied for 3 days and we... more
As many of the other reviews have horror stories-- I believe everything everyone has to say. We stayed for a few nights at this location and decided to cancel our last few nights
Lacks service. When you leave for the day and come back to an unmade bed, beer bottles still in your room that were near the door, counters...

Good: The location - about 1 km from Victoria's inner harbour. Parking is close to the entrance. Liked the king size beds with good mattresses. Room has a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Good wifi. The staff at the front desk is friendly and very helpful. The room rates are competitive.
Not so good: The overall cleanliness leaves a bit...

Under new management this hotel was awful. The rolm had not been prepared, there were no towels and when some eventually arrived they were fill of holes and torn. There were no coffee making facilities in the room and at one point were unable to supply any tea. This hotel should be avoided at all costs.
I stayed at this hotel in May for a friends birthday and will never make the mistake of staying here again. When we first arrived it was dirty, did not have towels or any soap in the bathroom, and the furniture was falling apart. We barely were in our hotel at all and when we left my visa got charged... more
Worst hotel we have ever stayed in, and we travel as a family a lot and are not picky by any means. Our room had ants everywhere....not just a couple...I mean tons of them! Crawling on the dirty bedspreads, on the furnishings, on the walls. The carpets were absolutely filthy and we decided to keep our shoes on. Toilet did... more
Having stayed for a night at a couple of the other Travellers Inn hotels in Victoria, we tried this one on the Victoria Day weekend for Saturday night. Booked a 2 king room, and when we arrived we opened the door to one king (for the four of us). After some time, they were able to find another room which... more
We had a rather short visit at this hotel, as we checked in a little after 1 am on our holidays, over spring break. Our son crawled into bed after a long day of traveliing and we were so lookin forward to a hot shower and comfie bed to sleep in...when he felt something and we pulled back the covers... more
I booked this hotel for a group of us going to a conference. It was certainly not the cheapest, but to the most expensive one either. We settled in okay, and were going to get some ice, when we saw mold on the lid of the ice bucket. They switched it out pretty quickly, which was good. The beds while... more
Two grey nomads from Australia with a hire car doing the big west coast roadie. Great for a Victoria stop. Inbound from Vancouver and outbound to Seattle.
Good honest accommodation. All the main sights within walking distance. No hassles with the car.
Loved the city and the island.
Stayed here a week when I was working in Victoria. Great location close to everything, and had free parking too. The room was fine - clean and nice. Only complaint is that the wifi was rubbish and didn't really work unless you took your laptop down to the lobby. Not a big deal if you are here on a visit... more
Good location just outside of Chinatown with PARKING! Very helpful staff. A good value especially if you have a car. I will stay there again.
We booked last minute and all reasonably priced places around the harbor were booked. But then again...Victoria downtown is about as large as a four block radius, so it's not that big a deal. One of the bed in our room was broken, which the staff promptly fixed. Shady sketchy looking outside, but clean and nice inside. It's not exactly the Hilton, but it does it's job (clean bed, fresh sheets,... more
I have spent an entire career in the hospitality industry, and this property is not a 3 star hotel/inn. The staff were quite pleasant, but not very experienced in providing the level of service I would have expected, given the 3 star rating I saw when I booked the room. The property is worn, the blankets and carpeting in the room were neither clean nor up to 3 star standards. The room was 'ok'... more
Checked out several hotels, but no vacancies
So, our friend suggested the Island Travel Inn
Not a bad place, good for one night
Room was clean and had two king size beds
If you need a place for a quick sleep, it's not bad
The rooms in this hotel were and are in need of a lot of attention. phones did not work, air cond. did not work, in room coffee pot did not work and dirty from previous tenant. Rooms had spider webs and spiders crawling on the walls. The staff has little to work with and some staff members choose to work behind the counter shirtless and in poor personal hygiene. May be comfortable to some but,... more
The hotel was older but they are fixing it up. The carpet and paint on the first floor was new. We had a ton of space in our first floor room and had two king sized beds which were really comfortable. I personally really liked the pillows. We used the fridge to store snacks and juice but walked to the... more

We were concerned after reading reviews, but a cousin had stayed here and said tho dated it was clean. this is a motel that is dated, and does need some repairs to the balcony, but we found things to be clean and reasonable, remember you are not going to a 5 star hotel.. We did mention a couple of problems,... more

I did not read trip advisor before I booked this hotel through Expedia for its location and price. My wife then checked the negative comments before I checked in and complained my booking of a cheap hotel. We arrived in the hotel without high expectation, but I enjoyed the stay. Great location, within walking distance in the heart of downtown.
a little bit noisy at night cause it is near the road. Over all, it is a nice place to stay with such a good price and convenient position.
Planned on staying here for 3 nights... should have checked trip advisor 1st. I will start with the positive, the woman working at front desk was extremely nice and professional. Thats all I can say. We parked in the underground parking figuring we could unload our stuff and hop straight into the elevator. Wrong. The door to access the elevator... more
Clean, comfortable, quiet hotel in a convenient downtown location. Great value!
i really didn't want to stay "downtown" but I couldn;t find a room with a decent rate so stayed here. Its just like a major chain style hotel, but room was nice. Rate was good (got a walk in rate) and included breakfast at a little coffee shop around the corner. I walked to china town one block over for... more
The room was small but clean. We had WIFI included and free continental breakfast which was served in a cafe next door (nothing special but ok). The staff was very friendly and helpful.

First of all the hot water was not turned on and wrench shut, obviously a leak. As a single female, I did not like this place. There were homeless men cat calling me in the parking lot. I figured my car would be broken into so I took everything, everything, out of it (it wasn't thankfully). The room was gross. Smelled like cigarettes which matched with the cigarette holes in the bed spread. It was loud.... more
“Staff was friendly, location was convenient. Bed was broken, and we were not able to make changes to room directly with hotel. We wanted to switch from one King bed to two double bed, but they couldn't do it.”
