A lady friend took me for lunch, first time there, for "our" birthday's Sunday afternoon... Accidents do happen however, the server spilled 1/2 a glass of red wine in my lap, didn't top up the glass, followed up with cold 4 oz. fish and chips, both of us, and billed us not only for very bad cold food but also $14.00 and change for the glass of wine... Needless to say, first and last time... more
We had a very nice stay at the hotel. It's a convenient location when flying into Halifax. Rooms aren't fancy, but they are clean. And the grounds are very lovely. And the staff was excellent ... always nice and very helpful.
Had a very nice week staying here in August of 18. Pool was clean and not too busy, ate on site once for breakfast. Food was really good, and service was friendly and efficient. Just a heads up, no free refills on fountain drinks.
Our room was clean and comfortable, and only one fault was A/C kept shutting off never getting to set point. And just selecting fan, would also stop running.

My wife and I came to decompress and celebrate our anniversary. Our room was spacious, clean and I appreciated the hot tub and deck. No complaints. Nice big bed.
Part of our package included $100 to spend at their restaurant. We went down to the dining room and I was told to remove my cap. So, embarrassed and annoyed, I went all the way back to my room to comb my hair, but I did not change out...

We had been going to this place every year for about 5 years now. It use to be great! Beautiful, peaceful and romantic. But after our last stay in June we won't be returning to what we had made a tradition at Inn On The Lake.We booked on the ad that included free continental breakfast and when we went for breakfast we were told that wasn't included for us after all. We are a fairly young couple... more
This place is amazing, I was staying here for business and so glad my company booked this hotel. The hotel room was very spacious it's outdated but has a lot of character. The bar and dining room serve food until 10pm and they have a very friendly staff. I had dinner at the bar and the bartender suggested the seafood crepe. The dish was amazing so much flavor and very fresh seafood, it was... more
Had a great stay. I enjoyed the the room and especially the jacuzzi. Staff treated us great and met every accommodation we asked for! One of the front desk girls, Katie was her name, was exceptional and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay! The only reason this isn't a 5 star rating is because of the food. The pub was over priced for what the food was. I had the calamari and I... more
The first time we came to Oliver's Pub it was OK. We took a couple friends out and it was not mind blowing but good. The next time we went out for lunch last year for Christmas team lunch. Again for me - OK only. The Seafood Casserole I ordered was expensive for lunch at $19.95 and had a lovely puff pastry on top shaped like a lobster but no lobster in it AT ALL! And the seafood tasted frozen -... more
I do not Ever post on sights, especially bad comments. However I feel that this review is necessary for anyone who wants a nice night away. In my opinion this is not the place. My husband booked a night away for our one year wedding anniversary. New Years Eve. When he booked the night,1st) He was not told about the brunch at reservation or at check in. We went down the morning of January 1st... more
My recent partner decided to surprise me for Valentine's Day with a night away, because it was our first valentine's day/ trip away together he went all out and booked us the King suite. The inn is absolutely beautiful, so it was a really nice surprise! We had dinner at Encore where the food was amazing and the waitress was even better! She went above and beyond to make our night special and it... more
This was our 5 year anniversary last month and we always come here!
We ordered the nachos. Very disappointed.
It was chips, olives, cheese and tomatoes..
Also ordered the penne, very bland.
New chef? Not sure what happened but we're hoping it changes for our next anniversary!
We ate there last night and have to say we were not impressed at all. To start there is a no ball cap rule its 2015 people your restaurant is not that fancy. The server was friendly but not that great at serving we had our meals ate before asking if we wanted anymore drinks. It wasn't that busy there only two other tables with people at them so the waitress staff were not overrun. I ordered a... more
We had to forego this beloved inn and restaurant because the reservations clerk told us their shuttle would not start for the airport before 5:00 am even though we had a 6:20 am flight with a required two hour airport arrival requirement. The receptionist was generally hard to deal with in other respects. We have never had this problem before.
In the past we have given Inn on the Lake five...

A wonderful hotel with all the amenities of a large 5 star chain but better .The Beautiful property and wonderful styled and up kept suites offered the charm elegance and affordability we were looking for ..Throw in a wonderful menu, patio, and great staff, and you won't forget this little hidden jem ..Top notch place.
All of the staff from the airport shuttle driver to the front desk, repair staff and everyone we encountered is extremely friendly and helpful. The Encore restaurant is a very nice decor with wonderful seafood dishes. The seafood chowder makes you want to lick the bowl. Seafood casserole was beautiful, rich lobster sauce and seafood chunks with a light airy pastry that screams butter! The... more
My wife took me to The Inn on the lake the food was at best disappointing I had calamari it was terrible tasted like it as from a box. I had a pasta dish that was recommended by our waitress again just average. My wife had filet mignon that was over cooked. The only good part of the meal was the waitress was friendly and attentive. Not one to complain we will just not return. Not worth $150.00... more
Great service & food every time we ate at Inn on the Lake. If you are looking for a nice meal with nice ambience with fantastic service, this is your place in Fall River. There is Ample parking....You won't be disappointed.
Went to the Inn on the Lake for the first time in a long time. We went to the restaurant for brunch with friends from out of town. The atmosphere was lovely and the service was top notch. The children ordered off the kid's menu but their burgers & fries were the same size as mine...huge! It was very yummy and filling. I couldn't eat it all. I will definately go back...especially since it is in... more
Absolute Kind and helpful staff. Nice room. The hotel has a Special style that differentiates it from all the other Standard Hotels.
Lovely stay at charming hotel near Halifax airport. Great aminities in dining and will kept grounds.
After days in super-friendly B n B's the formality and bureaucracy at the front desk was a let-down. Fine for a one-night stay enroute to another B n B ;-) Decor is dated so interesting to be 'back-in-time'!
Loved walking around the lake and grounds. Thoroughy enjoyed our visit and plan to return soon.
This was our second stay at Inn on the Lake. Both times were great. The rooms are nice and the staff is friendly. There are a few places to eat on the property which makes it very convenient. The food is quite good. The atmosphere at the inn is pleasant as it sits on a lake. Very much above your average airport hotel. Give it a try the next time you are flying out of Halifax.
Dropped in here for a bite to eat with my husband. Food was good. Our server, Kaleigh, was just a dream making sure we had all that we wanted. It was a little noisy but all in good fun on a Friday night!
Close to the highway is a drawback but other than that this hotel is high class. And the restaurant is very well run. The meals here compare in price to the Keg, but the quality is higher. Excellent meal !
Very nice, clean, attractive hotel. Would probably be very nice in Spring/Summer/Fall. Friendly service.
After spending a glorious 3 weeks around Nova Scotia we stayed at Inn of the Lake the night before we flew home.
Myself and 8 other people went to this restaurant to celebrate my friends 39th birthday party. We were told that they were full. Which was expected. But then they told us that the wait was over 3 hours and that we should leave and we're not welcome to wait. They claimed we were waiting in the hallway (which is the entrance of the restaurant) After they told us nothing was available we moved to... more
Even though it is right off the busy highway the grounds are very peaceful on the lake with a gorgeous little stream. I regret we didn't have more time to experience the restaurant- the menu looked very promising!
Enjoyed our stay. Food very good. Room comfortable. Nice to have free shuttle to the airport. Over all-excellent.
Overall very nice stay. Excellent restaurant on premises. We arrived several hours before allowable checkin and were able to check in early. Close to airport.
Rooms in the hotel were very clean and comfortable. The food and bar were excellent. We used the hotel as it was close to the airport, had we known how good it was we would have stayed longer. The hotel is central to many tourist destinations around Halifax
This place was a nice clean place to stay with plenty of amenities. We stayed here for two nights right after our wedding. It was nice and relaxing complete with double hot tub right by the bed and an electric fireplace. Would recommend to anyone else.
We used this hotel on the last night of our visit since it was close to the airport. Very clean, comfortable and convenient with courteous, helpful staff. Although we did not use the restaurants on site, we thoroughly enjoyed the room service and highly recommend the Farmer's Breakfast!
Inn on the Lake is a gem hidden away on the shore of a lake about 20 km from Halifax. the staff are absolutely delightful and very helpful. The restaurant is very pleasant. You can dine in or out on the patio which is delightful when the sun is out. The food quality is good and the service is friendly and warm.
The rooms are clean and well kept. In the summer the swimming pool is open.

Found this place by accident. Loved it. Great food. (I am a cook by trade) I found this page looking to book 2 nights in November.
Nice alternative to the usual chain hotels. A little out of the city (Halifax/Dartmouth) but a fairly short trip. Very friendly and accommodating. Pretty good value for money. Restaurant/bar food pretty good. Good selection of local microbrewery beer on tap.
What a beautiful spot. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was very large and comfortable. It was a great way to start our visit to the East Coast.
Gorgeous Property, food was excellent, room quaint and very clean, bed uncomfortably hard and pillows less than satisfactory.
Selected the hotel for its proximity to the airport and the water view. It was recently remodeled and very comfortable. Our room had fireplace which we were surprised to find we would need in May, and really enjoyed it. Only stairwell access to 2nd and 3rd floors, but help is available for bags. Checked in and receptionist was most gracious in ensuring she found just the right room to meet our... more
My wife and I had dinner at Oliver's (the pub) last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Rob, our waiter, was a delight. The place was pretty full and the service was still prompt. My wife had the seafood casserole, I had ribs and a Caesar salad. The food was first rate. Even the vegetables were fresh, interesting and flavourful. And the price was reasonable.
The staff were very knowledgable about the area and were very helpful. The food at the restaurant is fantastic.
I have stayed in nice hotels before, but I would have to rate this one as my favorite so far.
there for a 1 night stay after travelling all day. Bed was very comfortable and Mary the shuttle driver was extremely helpful. The stairs and lack of an elevator are an issue for seniors
The hotel is very nice, but I found the front desk staff difficult. My flight was delayed coming in and their shuttle ends at mid night, so I paid $36 for a taxi one way (about a 7 min drive). Then there was a change in our departing flight early in the morning, but unfortunately we needed to go to the airport to rebook and were not able to do so over the phone. When I asked if we could return... more
Very restful because a bit away from the Hfx airport
We were so lucky the other airport hotels were full! It made the start of our holidays!
Very quaint setting. Staff is excellent! Bed's are comfortable and had a wonderful sleep. Would recommend a stay to anyone. Great location to airport and to nearest shopping district. Way to go!
This is an excellent place to eat. The pub or dining room feature the same menu and, most important, the same prices. Service is good and attentive. The pub is a great place to meet and the selection is superior. Drive out to the Inn from town, you will be surprised. The place is exceptionally clean, it has ample parking and friendly staff.
Stayed at the Inn on the Lake on route to Calgary. Nice facility and very nice staff.
Beautiful hotel. Great food and great service.See the fall colours in Fall River.
Spent my wedding night here and did the reception. Staff was absolutely amazing. Keri Reed made our lives a hundred times easier planning for the reception and kept us sane throughout the entire event.
We got the honeymoon suited which was hundreds of times worth it, and were even seen off by a hug from the staff. Food was always where it needed to be and they literally anticipated our needs...

This place is okay if you need an overnight somewhat near the airport, but don't want an airport motel. The rooms are claustrophobic and concrete. Breakfast was out of the back of a foodservice truck.
Very comfortable room and friendly staff. Lovely lakeside location too. Would have been great to spend more time there if we'd been able.
Friendly staff, great service. Will definitely stay there again... more
I loved my stay at the Inn on the Lake!
Recently engaged, my fiance and I were looking for a romantic weekend outside of the city (we live downtown Halifax).
Our room was great; with a big big balcony overlooking Lake Thomas and the pool, a very spacious 2 person jacuzzi (when they say two-person tub they mean it!), an electric fireplace, and the front desk even sent us a complimentary bottle...

Room was great, friendly staff. The general layout of the inn is quite cozy, and everything you may need is right on site. Very clean facilities, restaurant and pub. The grounds are well maintained as well. One note that sticks out in our minds on a negative note however was issues regarding the pub and restaurant manager. He appeared to be quite h@!%!*n the staff, and roamed around the... more
We like to stay a night or two here at least once or twice a year, even though it's only a 15 minute drive from the house.

Great place to stay near the airport that doesn't feel near the airport! Complimentary shuttle every half hour-on time & easy. Very nice location on a lake that we wished we had time to enjoy. Beds were very comfortable & staff very friendly. Bartendress was great to engage with us, ended our vacation to Nova Scotia on a great note! thank you!
We were very pleased with our stay at Inn on the Lake. Very scenic location. Super clean accommodations, very friendly staff and very easy to talk to as well as generating quality conversations. Met all of our needs and made us feel at home, from arrival to departure!
Stayed first and last night of a one week vacation. Night 1 was great, as we were upgraded to a ground floor room overlooking the pool and the food was excellent, staff really friendly and service first class. I would recommend this hotel as a stop over or for smaller meetings close to the airport. It costs $40.00 each way for a taxi to downtown Halifax - so probably best if you already have... more
What a wonderful experience. staff was friendly and helpful. convenient location. great food and comfortable beds.
Beautiful building, great surroundings, food was terrific, great staff, nice place to get away from it all. highly recommend
Disappointing. Had the Salmon Mi'kmac ($26) described as a 'planked salmon' which is 'served on a cedar plank'. I don't think I was expecting too much when I imagined a grilled cedar plank infusing it's smoke into a salmon fillet. Well, the only time the plank got near a grill is when the cook singed the edges randomly, simply for looks. The salmon fillet, although a little on the small side,... more
Two small "issues" -no elevator and most rooms are upstairs -about 15 min to airport, shuttle runs every 30minutes 5am - midnight.
I found Inn on the Lake on # 2 Highway to be very close to the airport which was our goal. I wasn't made aware that there would be a lite snack of breads and muffins and tea or coffee in the morning which was a very nice surprise as we left so early in the morning and it was a long wait before we had a chance to have breakfast. So i would say we had a very pleasant stay and will surley come back.
Upon arrival the friendly and professional staff quickly offered us a more access friendly room to accommodate our special needs. The hotel offers up a old fashioned elegance of days gone by, beautifully situated easily off 102 hwy in Fall River. The staff at the front desk were exceedingly helpful with directions etc.. The restaurant "Encore" has all the immenities of a five star establishment... more
This weekend my grandmother turned 85, and that is certainly an occasion worth celebrating. After mulling over suitable birthday-lunch locations, my grandfather made the executive decision that we should go to Inn On The Lake. I have not been to this restaurant/Inn since I was about 10 years old, and my only recollection was that they served up some pretty choice garlic bread. Now I still enjoy... more
We were there a couple of weeks ago in the dining room. Last night we had the opportunity to share some drinks with friends in the pub. It was a great atmosphere. The special for the night was a lamb...

We arrived very late at night so it was difficult to see, however when the shuttle service picked us up to go to the airport (which I must mention is one of the top reasons why we booked this hotel) the hotel sits on a beautiful property overlooking the lake. Keeping in mind that I've never stayed the night here and the last time I came for dinner (which was great) was at least ten years ago, I'm going to write this highly specific review about the Inn on the Lake tennis court. You know, because I play by my own rules and stuff.
Even with oodles of free tennis courts around HRM, I will still always want to pony up the $10/hr to use this one. It's a...

We stayed here overnight after landing at Halifax airport. It is easy to find being just off the highway, with great lake views, although otherwise the location is a little random. The staff are really friendly and there is a fantastic little pub doing bar food and good beer. We will def go... more
This is a wonderful boutique hotel. The front lobby is quaint and the receptionist very polite, helpful and welcoming. The rooms were large and bright and clean. My sister said "I Do" at this hotel a few years ago, and it was a marvelous experience. They have vast, beautiful grounds that extend down to the lake, where there is a large wooden gazebo beside the water that was perfect for their ceremony. This is a lovely Inn in a beautiful setting. The room was very nice and clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Also, the Inn provides free shuttle service to and from the Halifax airport. Only downside: my husband and I walk with canes and there are no elevators, but we got help with our bags and only had a short flight of stairs to our room.
