I was terribly disappointed when I was told that I had to pay $11.00 for a night of parking. also: the parking space that was available for me to use was very tight and I had to do several maneuvering to get into it. This was the very first time that I had to pay for parking to an hotel were I was a guest, and I travel a lot. I will never book again this specific hotel.
I was concerned when I read the previous reviews. However, our experiences were okay and better as expected. The room was large enough for 3 adults and 1 kid. Everything was clean. It is not a new hotel which we knew upfront. WiFi did only work in the lobby but that was not a big deal.
Pretty decent. Average room. Good sleep. Great location. Only real complaint is there is not enough parking. We had to squeeze into a very tight spot in the adjoining lot.
Room doesn't look as good like it showed on website - it's old. Bad smell. Location is good. I won't come back to this hotel.
It was a terrible hotel and it's pet friendly allowing dogs to bark all night without fixing the issue, pet friendly was not clearly advertised and the wifi did not work the range was not strong enough to reach the room and they don't have enough bandwidth to support all hotel guests or even half for that matter this is not acceptable and back home this is false advertising saying there is free... more
A perfectly OK spot. If I were to go again I would Spend more to get more
I got a great price of only $49 for this hotel , it is not the best hotel in the area by a long way. There was a odor in the corridors but the rooms were clean and it was close to everything so for the price it was worth it.
Good location with short walk to Clifton Hill and to view of falls. Hotel was average, staff not the friendliest.
I would not go back The room was to small and there was no window to open The living room was to small The bed was not comfortable There was no gift shop in the hotel like it said there was You had to spend an arm and a leg on pop and water and food
The hotel is in a good location, just around the corner from Clifton Hill. It is fairly run down and in desparate need of a renovation. The room was definitely not as clean as it could have been, even after housekeeping had come, there was still hair on the bathroom floor and I found a button that was not mine on the carpet, as well as a bobby pin. The good part was that the shower had decent... more
The hotel staff were friendly but the overall conditions of the room were unpleasant. The room was musty and dirty. The carpets were stained, and so was the sofa pull out bed. Our comforter looked like it was from 1939 and the TV had this high pitch squeal every 5 minutes during a show. We asked for an upgrade but there wasn't any rooms available. The location was great, right downtown Niagara,... more
Older building, could use some updates. Bed very comfortable. Close to everything.
Overall experience good. There were a few things that needed looked at and they were attended immediately
Hotel was clean, reasonably priced and in a good location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Decor was slightly outdated but no more so than other rival hotels in the area. All in all an enjoyable stay and I would definitely recommend the place to a friend.
Location & Rooms are great for a family! Family suite double-whole sitting area that is separate from beds-great place for suitcases. Great location. We stayed in mid October and pricing was great @ $65. THE IMPERIAL was most definitely a great surprise at that price! Clean hotel. Large, clean rooms. Nice, helpful staff. Staff was great!!! Just an all around great place to stay! I will stay... more
It was a good pick for the long weekend stay. The rooms were comfortable although the walls were thin as we could hear our neighbors conversation word for word. Conveniently located, we could walk every where. The prepaid breakfast was ok. We chose to upgrade to the buffet for a few more options. Overall it was alright. We would probably stay again.
They still have the old tv. Making the movie tiny and harder to follow. It was ok beside that.
check-in smooth and friendly - hotel old but clean and room very spacious and loved the sink which was not attached to bathroom and microwave a huge plus along with a sofabed which we did not use but good to know and location amazing very close to restaurants and falls and although old hotel but very comfy
Stayed two nights and enjoyed the room. Pool and jacuzzi were great and we were the only ones using it. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The non smoking room was okay. All I needed was a place to sleep. The only thing I didn't like was the Wifi really sucks. I couldn't connect even in the main lobby. They should put an access point on every level and update their routers
- Fitness area - very bad condition. I saw nut and bolts all over the floor, rusted equipment. Spoiled all my mood to workout. - There was a plastic lining over the AC and it was sharp and broken. I kept watching my kids that they don't get hurt. - TV - very old - bad colours, very basic channels. Honestly, I did not see this kind of TV paying the price for the room that I did. - Bathroom -... more
The hotel wasn't a terrible place to stay, it was an older hotel and was way overpriced. My husband and I did enjoy our stay at the hotel though. The nice thing about the hotel was its location. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance from the hotel so that made the stay worth while. If you are looking for a fancy hotel, this isn't the hotel for you. If you are looking for... more
Room needed updating, windows were dirty, hard to see out. Overpriced.
The only positive about this hotel was that it was easy to get to. The room was filthy, we found hair all over the pillows. Also, the comfort of the beds can be equated to sleeping on a broken hide-a-bed in your grandmother's basement. The floor was a better option. The television has not been updated in approximately twenty years, it was a small, square box. For the price, we were incredibly... more
For the price it was spacious, under 80 before taxes was a good price for a junior suite but the internet wifi wasn't available
- Room was clean and had microwave and mini fridge - AC was fully functional and our room was just the right temperature - Clean and home feeling
Wishing that the rest of the hotel could be as clean as the rooms. The halls and carpets outside the rooms were horrible, the elevators also not so great. The service was great The attached Golden and Griddle...nothing short of disgusting. The staff there too were amazing...too bad for the smell and lack of cleanliness in the restaurant. My husband and I have stayed at the Imperial a few times . I find it was much dirtier this time . The tub wasn't that clean , carpet dungy , sofa in sitting area soiled and bed covers old looking . I hope it's not... more
The hotel is dated and needs some refurbishing. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and cheerful. It is close enough to all activities for walking.
Room was clean and location was excellent, however there was a very strong smell of vomit from the room, we were only staying for 1 night and only in the room to sleep so it was bearable. I would definitely not stay at this hotel again.
We had a very enjoyable stay! We LOVED the buffet breakfast at the Golden Griddle. We would definitely book this hotel again.
Getaway week-end. Booked a suite - terrific view Staff very friendly.
My stay was awesome. Price was great, location and view are great! Staff were great as well as the room conditions and cleanliness. Overall a great experience one which I would do again. I would also recommend this hotel to anyone.
In the room, above one of the beds, there was a big spider web. The beds were supposed to be queen, size seemed closer to a double bed. The door to the bathroom would not shut properly, so there wasn't ample privacy. The springs were bulging up in the pull-out sofa.
At this medium price range, the Imperial is an excellent choice. It is close to all major attractions and the hotel staff is knowledgeable about the Niagara area. The junior suite we had was larger than we had anticipated. The free breakfast at the Golden Griddle which is adjacent to the hotel was also appreciated.
This is basically a 2 1/2 star hotel. It is in a perfect location. It is very clean and the staff is very accommodating.
Very disappointing for the price. Did not live up to the description.
Very bad experience the washrooms very dirty and very old. the room smelled very bad the staff service was very bad..not a welcoming attitude at all.they were rude
Great location and bang for your buck : - Steps away from all attractions/casino/restaurants - $10 parking rate - Rooms are spacious and clean, equipped with convenient fridges and microwaves - Pool area is outdated and dirty - Friendly and helpful staff
Clean; at first was assigned to a room we didnt request, but stay was able to change our room to what we wanted without extra change; wish parking was included in price; overall would book with motel again
I had stayed at this hotel before and it was decent. The rooms this time were a little dark, and seemed less "put together" than before. Overall it was still a comfortable stay, and super close to Clifton Hill, which is what I wanted.
Not top bad, I think they should maybe update a little but for the price it was ok, nice staff !!
we booked a room for two, a non-smoking one, and we got a smoking one - saying that using a third part company as such as EXPEDIA does not grantee that you get what you booked. Say What?! The hotel itself is located close to major attractions and the breakfast was good, but yet it felt very uncomfortable and stinky and very dirty. Would never recommend you to go there!
The hotel is located just off Clifton Hill, in the heart of the tourist area, which made for fast and easy access to the "sights". The staff is fantastic - very friendly and helpful! Not many hotels in Niagara Falls are pet friendly, especially without paying a tremendous fee, so we appreciated the Imperial allowing pets at a reasonable price.
Very nice stay will go back liked the free breakfast,, staff very nice hotel was nice and cleaned,,room cleaned everyday,,,
The hotel was nice. Pretty clean. And located very close to everything. The only complaint I have is the mattresses were too firm for me. But you'll get that at many different hotels.
Air was stale, mattress was stained window sills dirty, windows smudged, general cleanliness lacking.
Very nice indoor pool & hot tub. Convenient location close to the Falls and attractions. Rooms are clean and efficient. Lobby staff were unavailable most of the time. No lobby staff available to check out. Disappointed about being charged extra for parking as a hotel guest.
First off, this was a last minute booking as our trip plans changed last minute, so we weren't really sure what to expect. The price was right (well under $100), which worked well considering the quick change of plans. Upon arrival, the check-in staff was not overly friendly or welcoming, but we tried not to let that deter us from... more
Never again! To begin with front desk not very welcoming. We booked a non-smoking room and were given a smoking room (#906) without them telling us (the room and that floor smelled horrible). When I notified the front desk about the room being smoking and that we booked non-smoking, they told me that it was a "special request" to get... more
Had a great stay, the staff were friendly and efficient, clean room and wonderful view.I would recommend this hotel for families that want a hotel close to Clifton hill, walking is no more than 5-10 minutes, plenty of restaurant choices. The only downfall is when going in early May you don't get to enjoy the fireworks on Friday evenings.
Only OK for a budget hotel.
The room was a bit stuffy and i was dying to let some fresh air in but the windows don't open.
The windows were horribly dirty on the outside, but the room was big and clean though the decor a bit tired and dated.
We were glad of the fridge in the room but...

Location was adequate and not far from the falls which is the only positive I can say for hotel. The location is convenient just off Clifton Hill and close to the falls. The hotel offers big rooms with even a sitting area. But the building screams for TLC. Aside from the location of the hotel, it was not a good experience.
Stayed for one night, the room stunk and was dirty.
The room smelled of marijuana and there was dust and crumbs all over the dresser top and tables.

It is a good place what you pay, its location is decent. I didn't check its swimming pool. I got $5 breakfast(buffet style restaurant at 1st floor) but it wasn't worth it: I couldn't even eat the egg. If you want to stay decent place for just couple days it can be your choice but keep your expectations minimum.
I travelled to Niagara Falls in October 2012 for a "girl's night out" and while we were all on a budget, we had a great time. I would describe Imperial as an average motel for an average rate. Nothing fancy, but we had a great time in our adjoining rooms and it was clean enough for our standards.
The hotel is dated but very nice, the staff was really nice they allow pets. This hotel is located within walking distance of the falls, restaurants, Clifton hill. The Imperial is a no-frills hotel within walking distance of the falls (about 10 minutes) and the Clifton Hill attractions (about 5 minutes). Sometimes if a hotel is a bit run down, the customer services makes up for it. Sometimes if a hotel is smelly, the peace and quiet makes up for it. Sometimes if hotel staff doesn't seem to care about the customer, the hotel itself will make up for it. None of this happened here.
