My daughter and I hit Iguana this month for an impromptu lunch. It was again fabulous... and we are regular sushi eaters wherever we travel. I did notice the address on Tripadvisor is wrong however, unless there are two locations. Iguana is in the plaza on the corner of Dougall and Cabana.
Not our worst, just OK. There are better sushi choices, but this is not a bad choice. We used a Groupon and maybe this effected the quantity and quality we experienced. Have not returned.
We were visiting from Alberta and ended up at the Iguana just before closing on a weeknight. The server and owner graciously accommodated us and made us feel at home and not rushed. Sushi was excellent and we really enjoyed the Iguana sauce. Good variety of rolls available and fresh tasting and made to order. Love the atmosphere, very funky... more
I really enjoy coming out here to have some sushi. It takes me about 45 minutes to get here but it is worth it. If you happened to come out here you have to try the mussels. Trust me, you won't regret it.
The only variable or something that could be off is the service. It could be sometimes good...

I loved the atmosphere here, the decor and the food. It's quaint but the place is beautiful. Good prices. Try it out!
I liked you could walk to it from the casino hotel, I didn't like their special sauce at all.. its really just sweet and sour sauce.. the sushi tasted fresh - the tuna.. and the bartender/chef was really friendly and the wait staff are excellent.. neat little place would certainly recommend..
Good experience! Good prices and waitress Kelsey was great! The restaurant looked great! Just wished the menu had more of a description for sushi rookies!
I have never received such poor customer service in my life as I did tonight at Iguana's downtown location. After ten minutes of waiting and not being offered a menu the server approached another couple that had just entered the restaurant and offered them menus and a glass of water. Ridiculous, terrible service. He did not even acknowledge that we... more
Dougall location. There were 5 waitresses on duty 2 of them seemed to be working the rest stood behind the bar. Sushi was pretty good, over priced for the [email protected]!%!y service. We went early, at 7, because I called once before and the girl said they don't take reservations. When we arrived to get a booth there was a table... more
I ate at Iguana once, and frankly was underwhelmed. It was the downtown location; a small cozy restaurant, a few tables and warm ambience, but the sushi was average and - I think - overpriced.
It was dark, loud, and full of happy young people: not a place for children, by any means, but my 8 year old still liked it-- the aquarium especially. We recently purchased a groupon for this place and wanted to try it out. The food was absolutely amazing!! Our server, however, spent more time chatting behind the bar with her... more
Took my wife here for the first time in over a year. We used to love coming to Iguana, but this time it was by far the worst sushi experience I've had in Windsor. We were the only couple in the restaurant, and the wait staff just sat around and talked about how bad their boss was. They hardly paid... more
Went here on a Groupon - loved the Black Widow sushi roll. The sweet seasame sauce is a favourite of mine a well.
Found the sushi to be very non-traditional, but tasty. Would definitely recommend this funky joint. Decor is very fun - check out the wrought iron iguana on the ceiling.
A nice place.. Small Resturant tucked into a very little building. Great sushi, superb spring rolls. prices on the menu were a little high but the 2 roll special with soup and spring rolls was very reasonable. Good for a small group. Not recommended for a party over 3 people because there are no tables with more than 3 seats.... more
We used a Groupon and were able to get a table. The food was okay. The service was very slow.
Iguana is tucked into what appears to be a former garage and the seating is limited and very tight. We actually were asked to move tables so that more people could be crammed into the tiny space. The staff is small and wait time on sushi rather substantial at times, but oh is it worth it! They offer several unique... more
Extremely slow and inexperienced. instead of serving customers they group together at the back of the restaurant and sing [email protected]!%!y songs together from the 90's while you wait to place am order. Get a clue. Do that on your own time. I won't be going back for a while.
Fantastic food and great central location downtown make this a wonderful choice.
One of the top sushi places in Windsor. Right in the downtown core of the city in close proximity to all the nightlife and the riverfront. Great place to grab a bite to eat before going out. The sushi is really fresh, perfect fish-to-rice ratio and famous for its amazing Iguana sauce which is like a sweet mayonnaise type dipping... more
Good little spot for a bite of sushi and a sake bomb before heading over to Oulette
